There is so much more to see and do in Tangkahan that we didn’t get a chance to show you! There is a gorgeous small waterfall right near the hotspring. There are multiple stunning waterfalls a short trek away in the jungle. There is a bat cave you can walk through and explore. There is a larger hot spring up the Batang River, and countless stunning places to visit in the incredible Gunung Leuser National Park. And of course the Elephant Conservation Centre as well. This is a truly special place that shouldn’t be missed out on! If you’d like to know more about visiting, check the blog in the description, ask questions in the comments or reach out to us! 😊
Great !!! I was surprised at the amount of effort the guides put in - I thought you were all tied together and just floated down the river. Tangkahan is beautiful. Loved it.💙💚💛🧡xx
Usual tubing is after a trek upriver, so we all just float back home. But we were heading in the wrong direction that day as not a normal trekking route!
Love the wild river vlog with baby monkeys, butterflies & Carly, Agung, Trudy & Acuk! Did you hear any howler monkeys? Banyak terima kasih. Luar biasa jalan-jalanya. Merry Xmas & love from Cookie!
Hi Liz and Cookie! So glad you enjoyed the blog. No howler monkeys here, but the gibbons are pretty loud and fun to listen to! Happy holiday season to you and yours from all of us. ☺
Never realised this was so near Bukit Lawang yet even more beautiful! I was at Padang Beach recently and had the same observation and comment 'Love Indonesia but please stop littering'.... Great vlog guys! Cheers, STL
Before the new road, it was a bit of a pain to get to Bukit Lawang - 2 hours on bad roads and often running into bogged down palm oil trucks! But the new asphalt makes a world of difference. They are already seeing an influx of local tourists now that it's so much more accessible. And yes - it is soooo beautiful, you'll have to come back for a visit. ☺

Another great adventure guys! Good to see you back again Carly, healthy & happy. I would love to see that many butterflies at once - magical. 🦋🦋
Thanks guys! I had forgotten just how many butterflies there are in the jungle - so beautiful! It was great to be out and about again. 😊🙏
Love it Carly and Agung. We are coming to visit in June.
Fantastic Vicki - yay! Will you make it to Toba?
