Everyone deserves second chances. I thank God for mine. I thought I lost everything because of my addiction to opiates and getting myself in prison for 3 years. Now I am married (just celebrated 9 years of marriage) sober, have a beautiful 3 year old daughter and have earned the trust and respect back that I lost. I always liked you man. God bless and I am rooting for you this year too! We can't make everyone around us happy, not everyone will like us. No matter how "good" we are, there will always be a hater. ❤🩹🤙

I met Ricky outside the stadium at the venue during the Dubai Games 2021. Got a pic with him. Super nice guy and didn’t hesitate to chat. I told my wife that Ricky will win the Games one day. I consider Ricky the underdog 🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️

Top stuff chap, incredible shift over the past few years. I'd be interested in hearing more about your decision to take PEDs, what drove you to do it, who influenced you (if anyone), how long were you doing them, how enhancing really were they?
He has a podcast on Spotify where he talks exactly about what happened, it was mostly someone he trusted giving him bad advice and didn’t realize until it was too late

It's honestly pretty fantastic seeing you come back with so much faith in yourself. You never hear about people coming back to a sport after testing positive, so it's actually pretty incredible. Well done 🎉

We have ALL made bad decisions in our lives. I remember when this news came out from the Games and the amount of hate that erupted from it all. Here was this young man, who made a pretty awful mistake, took his lumps, paid his dues, did the work, and has returned to a sport he loves wiser and stronger. Looking forward to watching him take on Semis!

Dude had a bad start on the apology tour, didn't really feel like he was fessing up completely. But, after his mea culpa with Chase Ingraham I became a fan. I'm sure it hurt to say, not only did he cheat, but he lied and tried to throw other people under the bus. He seems to have learned and grown. It was really cool seeing him at the games last year, and I look forward to cheering for him this year.

You were unfairly maligned and made an example of in a sport in which many competitors do what you did and still get away with it. What crossfit did to you was beyond wrong and you deserve the top spot on the podium for many years to come.

Hell yeah, nothing beats a comeback - especially when it's earned through perseverance and hard work.
That's amazing determination to stick with it.
As I keep thinking about how the sport of CF is evolving my opinion on PED users changed. Sure I'm not cool with what they have done, but there are so many athletes who cut corners by ignoring movement standards and rules. That is basically cheating too, so Ricky is the bad boy forever for what? Because he cheated MORE? Seems hypocritical to me. Many atheletes lack on accountability. This is the real problem.
I'm cool with Ricky now because he has the balls to step back into the game. Be a role model from now on and CF will realize where the real issues are. All the best!

Cool that your competing clean now.
But the gains you made whilst on gear weren’t just physical.
The amount of neurological gains for skills practise on physically demanding skills you could get in because of PED’s with increased recovery is what the main problem. Higher volume on HSPU’s, hand stand walking, weightlifting technique etc etc, you recover faster and get to practise more often
The technique gains you could make under that don’t just go away. Don’t get me wrong you’ve obviously trained fucking hard, but that doesn’t go away staying clean for a couple years.
And it shows on your most recent clean performances. If you still feel good about competing like that, cool for you but PED’s should be a ban for life because of this reason.

He said he missed the spot for the 2016 games but he took drugs, this is not fair. He knows he took drugs he ain’t fooling anyone.
