Awh thanks for the shoutout, Lukeness! Great tips all around. The only thing I'd add is to have patience! Not giving into scalping or otherwise expensive older items because Hasbro absolutely loves to rerelease figures. Good video! -Justin
I kind of already have some experience with collecting but this video will definitely help me! Thanks for making this vid! Btw I love that 501st lineup
Glad I found your channel! I’m disappointed UA-cam didn’t recommend it to me before that 5k giveaway, that Echo is one of the expensive figures I hope to get one day! I’ve been collecting for a few months, but these tips are super helpful, with collector groups on Facebook and comic shops being most useful for me personally. Black Series are super fun to collect, and this guide is perfect for anyone trying to build up their own collection!
GameStop is great, but another store that I LOVE is called BobaKhan, it’s in a small town outside of Seattle, they have old black series figures, and new black series, and very old figures from like the 1980s and 70s. They have marvel legends, mezco, transformers, neca, and a bunch of other things as well
Don't forget their's the black boxes with different color lines(red, orange and blue), as well as multipacks/exclusives(store and/or online). Here's a tip: Finding them in stores is all based on location. The West and East Coast always get them first. North and South always have to play this ridiculous waiting game and it could take months to get all of them. Comic book and specialty stores do carry them, but check their prices. Sometimes it can be expensive pending on the line or how much they are willing to sell you vs. how much you are willing to pay. When pre ordering, check the stores first before online. They will always help you get what you want, but don't wait. Sometimes pre orders will sell out fast depending on the character and if it's exclusive/limited. I never have ordered on social media, but I do watch Unusual Mike, Action Figure Grader and other youtube shows and their reviews are good. It helps me if this figure is worth getting. Another advice: Check in the clearance isles. Walmart/Targets, will sometimes, but not always have them on clearance. You have to be at the right place/time to get it. I never shop on Ebay, but I always trust Amazon. Ebay is like a betting site and you have to pay extra for shipping/handling. I trust Amazon. Also if you are a prime member, you get free shipping and every July they have their Prime sale and if you are lucky you can order as many as you want, however check for availablity.
If a figure is expensive, you sometimes don't even need to wait for a re-release. I saw the og Mando for 20 USD today on ebay. I collect in sets, and how I will set them up on my shelf. I open box collect and I have TBS, Mcfarlane Mortal Kombat 11(storm collectibles too pricey to me), and then a small Neca section, a Marvel section, and a Dc section. I have ballpark 150 figures and have maybe 80 or so on my shelf. Figure boxes are worth keeping they get pricey. I should start making videos. Great video Luke!
This is great for new collectors, I have been collecting since 2016 but toke a break 2017 to 2018 because the figures where only sequel figs but now I’m getting a lot and catching up on some of those old red box figures like the second sister and the sith trooper.
This is good info, especially about deciding what to collect. I started my collection 9 months ago and has no focus, now I have a ton of deal with nowhere to put it! Great advice for new collectors as this can get addicting and expensive
NOTE: IF UR CANADIAN AND WANTING TO COLLECT, NEVER GO TO A CHAIN STORE. We don't have stores like Walgreens and our Walmarts and targets are soo bad that the only Black series figs are online for hundreds of dollars. As a Canadian, I would order from Amazon (There aren't many figures), Big Bad Toy Store, Hasbro Pulse, Dorkside, and eBay.
Here in South Alabama it’s about the same for Walmart and target. GameStop is the only good place for black series in my part. All the Walgreens are still on the rise of sky walker wave. Bestbuy is hit or miss.
I just pre-order the carbonized scout trooper from target. It says for the three carbonize figures a target one per person I wanted at least two scout trooper‘s but at least I got one pre-ordered. I like the way the carbonized scout trooper looks because it’s not too fancy and it’s not too bad looking considering I want a basic scout trooper and not the one that GameStop was selling with the harness.
I have 5 Star Wars the black series imperial figures and I did manage to get the incinerator trooper for Christmas and I really like the incinerator trooper figure
G’day Luke, another great UA-cam and Website is Jedi Business. Has all released Black Series figures on it, a great reference site that dates back to the first figure released.
Great advice man, I agree with it all I collect everything excluding the sequel trilogy( just don’t like them ) stuff but mainley clone wars and original trilogy stuff ( of course gaming greats and Expanded universe)
Buy 20-30 figures, give them to me for free! LOL Kidding! It is Super Hard Army Building! I have probably 30 Stormtroopers, and none of them match! I seem to have 2 or 3 of each kind. Perfect example is today, I got a Crimson Jet Trooper, a Shore Trooper, and the Hovercraft Trooper. Three Troopers of 3 different divisions. So while numbers wise I am starting to get a good Force, they look weird. Yes, you have to choose what you want. I am not buying Jawas, Droids, or Ewoks. I concentrate on Jedi, Sith, women, Stormtroopers, humans, Aliens, and Mandalorians! Walmart never has anything! I'm 90% online these days!
Hasbro really needs to step up their production. Also try and make it easier to aquire new figures. It's so damn hard to get a lot of things. And also less exclusives. They said they would stop but nope. Big surprise, a company lied. Nothing new there.
Well.... .. seeing as I started around 2014 or so, with the 2nd wave. I skipped the 1st, certain that BS was not gonna get me. A lot of trial & error later, dumped scores of figures. Only keeping my favs or the best ones.
black series surprising keeps a lot of its value after its opened. Popular characters will be worth more regardless of packaging. SDCC and con exclusives are the exception. they lose a lot of value once opened
Keep checking target stores and on target.com he still fluctuates in and out of stock. If not try and find good deals on eBay and Facebook market place
Awh thanks for the shoutout, Lukeness! Great tips all around. The only thing I'd add is to have patience! Not giving into scalping or otherwise expensive older items because Hasbro absolutely loves to rerelease figures. Good video! -Justin
Dude that setup is so cool, and also I am a new collector.
How big is your collection now
The only problem is if you are just now starting……you’ve missed a crap ton of figs
I kind of already have some experience with collecting but this video will definitely help me! Thanks for making this vid!
Btw I love that 501st lineup
So far with my black series I have mainly been collecting TCW and OT, I can see how this video will help new collectors.
I've been collecting for a little over a year now... Great tips! Thanks for the video!
As someone who getting started With Back Series this is very helpful THX

Number one tip: COLLECT WHAT YOU LIKE not what’s rare
Partially bad advice… Collect what you like AND collect what’s rare…You’re welcome

New collector trying to “figure” out what to get first. So many cool figs out there
@@Snikrot40K I released a “top 10 essential TBS figures” a few weeks ago that should be helpful!
@@Lukenessmonster thanks I’ll check it out!
I've been collecting since the end of 2020, the first figure I got was Cad Bane. Now I'm up to 31 figures. This is a great video!!!
Love your channel.
That’s crazy! I’ve been collecting since the end of ‘20, first figure being Bane and have 31 figures.. 😂 literally the exact same story 😮
@@ShatteredCreations Holy crap. That is crazy, must be a collector doppelganger. 🤣
Helpful but also, the new boxes (in each mini series, such as the mandalorian, gaming greats, or solo) line up with the pictures on each box
NOTE: IF UR CANADIAN AND WANTING TO COLLECT, NEVER GO TO A CHAIN STORE. We don't have stores like Walgreens and our Walmarts and targets are soo bad that the only Black series figs are online for hundreds of dollars.

The walmarts and targets are always out. Here in AZ
Here in South Alabama it’s about the same for Walmart and target.

You forgot the blue and orange striped boxes but doesn’t matter just pointing it out I can see this helping out new collector’s great work man 👍
Awesome and helpful video!!!!
I have 5 Star Wars the black series imperial figures and I did manage to get the incinerator trooper for Christmas and I really like the incinerator trooper figure
Always wait for walmart offers
G’day Luke, another great UA-cam and Website is Jedi Business. Has all released Black Series figures on it, a great reference site that dates back to the first figure released.
first part killed me :( "Decide what and who to get..."
IF it comes out, I BUY and it sucks. But I'm going for it
Awesome tips
Except Entertainment Earth takes forever sometimes lol 😂
Good tips!
I mostly collect prequel figures.
noti gang
Nice video, you definitely cater to a diverse audience. Will come in handy for shiny's
Great advice man, I agree with it all I collect everything excluding the sequel trilogy( just don’t like them ) stuff but mainley clone wars and original trilogy stuff ( of course gaming greats and Expanded universe)
I go on toyark for my black series news. I on plan to get 2 more black series figures.
They need to make a 6 inch Denal figure
Good video. I've been collecting since 2014. Unless someone is really into frustration though I wouldn't even recommend collecting the line. Lol
Buy 20-30 figures, give them to me for free! LOL Kidding! It is Super Hard Army Building! I have probably 30 Stormtroopers, and none of them match! I seem to have 2 or 3 of each kind. Ya I focused on Clones and Jedi first, then OT heroes and Imperial army

Arc Trooper Echo wasnt hard to find, He was impossible to find most stores never even received him
I've been collecting for about a year and I have a little over 50 figures now but I mostly collect Mandalorians and anything clone wars
im subscribed to your channel
I was a sucker for echo got 2 of them of off eBay for about $50 a figure
and midwest? where at, brother?
Still can’t find that Echo anywhere
I love black series but I also love lego star wars and both are pretty expensive so it is hard to balance them both.
My Walmart never gets any exclusives
🙏🏻🙌🏼
How much value do they typically lose if you do decide to open them? Apart from the obvious wear and tear
black series surprising keeps a lot of its value after its opened. Popular characters will be worth more regardless of packaging. SDCC and con exclusives are the exception. they lose a lot of value once opened
A lot of great sellers on ebay .
How did you open your cardback without damaging it?
Is Macari only American? Because if international I might give it a try.
Let's hit 7k subs guys!!!!!
How/where can you get the black series echo?!
Keep checking target stores and on target.com he still fluctuates in and out of stock. If not try and find good deals on eBay and Facebook market place
Step 1) don't collect Black Series, Step 2) collect Hot Toys
I got rex echo and a jetpack trooper for 194 usd is that a good deal ?🤔
I'm pretty new to this
It’s a little towards the higher end but all 3 together is great
Wtf is a Johnra?
