A small comparison of all four Batman Arkham titles on PC with a slight focus on graphics. It only covers a few things such as Batsuit, Gliding, Panorama, Character Models and Fighting. Arkham Asylum looks extremely well although it's 6 years old.

Thanks for posting this. I will say that in my experience starting the Arkham Knight, the first thing that really stood out to me was something simple as hearing the rain on batman's cape. I'm really big on the sound in games, which just continues to get more impressive with some of the games we are seeing these days (for a bit now actually) And there is still plenty of time to go...
On a side note: am I the only person who doesn't mind the tank missions? I agree they get repetitive, but I really don't find it that much more repetitive than the melee combat... I'm more referring to the hordes, not the joy of picking off thugs in predatory mode. But yeah, I love that fucking Batmobile!
I really enjoyed how Batman's combat changes in close range. He does that thing where he fights real low to the ground. That's Rocksteady detail right there.

I liked Origins the most. It's what Arkham Knight should've been for me. Enemies tried to hit you as soon as they were able, and you could hold a combo based off of counters alone.
If you play any of the Rocksteady games shortly thereafter (if you weren't relying on the electro-gauntlets), then you'll get your highest score yet; guaranteed.

Aber... Kommt mir das nur so vor oder ist Origins der grafisch schlechteste Ableger? Technisch ist es sicher besser als Asylum und City, aber die Farbpalette, das Design der Stadt, und dieser fehlende Kontrast... Das hat mich schon gestört als das Spiel erschienen ist. Es wirkt alles irgendwie flach und generisch.

People love to hate on Origins, but that game had hands down the best character designs. Origins also had an amazing PC port. Those snow particles flying around still look awesome today.

Colgate Cavity Patrol buggy, yes. Doesn't change the fact that it ran great and looked fantastic. I'd rather reload a checkpoint once in a while than have constant stutter (like in AK).

Funny you say that, I'm playing a new game plus of Arkham Knight, but after seeing this I'm dying to go back and play the scarecrow moments. I thought Arkham Asylum was hands-down the best take on scarecrow. Then again, some pretty crazy shit starts to happen towards the end of Arkham Knight as well. Hopefully I don't need to put spoiler alert for "crazy shit".

Arkham Origins has the worst graphics in my opinion it has the least detail in it. Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City and have high levels of detail put into it and you can tell by rain on the and reflection on the streets to the water dripping down from the walls of the Asylum dispite being on last gen. Batman Arkham Origins just doesn't have that it doesn't have that Rocksteady level of detail put into it because Rocksteady didn't make AO. Even the thugs in Batman Arkham Origins look bad compared to the ones in Batman Arkham City. In Batman Arkham City you can pass them as real like because of the detail in them at that time in gaming but in AO they look like plastic and clay.

Den schönsten Grafikstil hat eindeutig Asylum da kommt alles ein bisschen Comic Mäßiger rüber. Beste Grafik hat natürlich Knight. Der Batsuit ist bei City am schönsten find ich. Und naja Origins hab ich nie gespielt aber das kam doch nach City raus sieht aber deutlich schlechter aus... Und Harley war in Asylum am besten =3

Ich hab Asylum mindestens 3 mal gespielt genau so wie alle anderen auch. Asylum hat mit Abstand die einseitigste Story. Joker bricht aus und übernimmt das Irrenhaus. Dicht gefolgt von origins. Knight und city haben mit Abstand die beste Story. Schreib hier keine scheiße rein die Story in knight war das erstaunlichste in der ganzen arkham Reihe Vor allem das Ende

Knight - its not a NextGen differences
I've been playing Arkham Knight on PS4 for a while and I've had a weird feeling when playing it for some reason. Since I've played the 3 other Arkham games on PC and haven't played any games on a console in a while, I just kinda thought it was the controller feeling weird or something. But when I booted up Arkham City on my old PS3 and played it a while, it just felt right. Nothing felt weird, it just felt simple and clean, but for whatever reason Arkham Knight is super weird to play. It has a lot of visual noise with the upgraded graphics of course, but I don't know if that's the only thing. My point here is that I really used to take the quality of the previous Arkham games (and Arkham City specifically) for granted. It's amazing how good the game still feels even on an old console.
One question: is Arkham asylum the oldest and Arkham knight the newest?
and the Arkham origins is before all the games right?

Origins was going for a different style (noir) compared to the Rocky Steady games. Origins does have some nice looking areas when you're inside buildings, but outside is very bland.

Personally I love the style of Asylum & City. I prefer combat and skills from Origins and Knight. In terms of story I vote for City and Origins (why origins? Because it shows you a part of Batman's early life, growth and training that other games can't tell). About context and open world I find more inmersive Asylum and Knight. If it's about character design every game of the saga deserves a mention because all of them are unique and stylish. That's just my opinion.

Every one of these games will be special to me in some way. Honestly, Arkham Origins was my favorite in every way. Like everyone else says, the graphics and visuals of Arkham Knight where just top notch. I also liked the combat system in Knight. I will always Remember Arkham City as the game that basically set up the entire game series. And Arkham Asylum?... That one just always has a special place in my heart. I don't know how to describe it. It's not nostalgia, although I also get that as well from Asylum. But whatever it is, Arkham Asylum will always have a certain importance to me in some way.

In my opinion, I like them all the same. They were all so different in puzzles, bosses, exploration, etc. These games were so amazing and they all feel so different in their own ways. I love the variety.
