Hey was wondering if I could get some advice from you please I've been offered two opportunities and I'm unsure which one to take. 1.) A two year commercial banking graduate scheme 2.) A direct entry job role as an assistant relationship manager in a bank Which would you go for?
Ahhh tough one. I had a similar choice to make, either go through the rotation program and get exposed to multiple areas of the bank (cash management, trading, etc) vs going direct into a sales role and jumping into the local market quicker/building my expertise in one vertical of the bank sooner. I choose the later because I knew I wouldn't be at the bank very long, I wanted to go out and sell sooner and use those two years to focus rather than diversify. However if your personal goals are to build a career at the bank/move up to management roles, I would lean towards a rotation program, you get exposed to multiple business lines and develop a much larger internal network which is worth a lot more and you cannot replicate with option #2 as you wont have the learning environment or exposure of a rotation program. It depends on your personal goals. Good luck with your choice!

Agreed, I have seen many business owners rush to sell the real estate and lose alot on the business sale. Timing it right is very important.
