I was at College with Dr Jackson's son ! He had written some pieces for organ and dedicated them to his son (William). When I played one for a concert, William pleaded with me not to mention that the wonderful music I was about to play was composed by his 'dad'! William was, no doubt, inwardly proud but at the time, was a Rock Guitarist!
Francis Jackson was Organist of York Minster, NOT the fictional Yorkminster Cathedral !! The instrument contains a famous 8' Tuba Mirabilis. Just had £2.5 million spent on a rebuild so worth a visit.
