Now we reached the saddest episode on the show, or at least one of the saddest moments, man David(Ross) and Jennifer(Rachel) did an amazing job in the break up scene, amazing acting, u watching it u dont even feel like it's a sitcom show, their acting felt so genuine if it were 2 ppl actually breaking up, I remember how sad I was when I watched it for the first time because I was so invested in their relationship, they were so cute and wholesome together on season 2 with some really great moments, so that episode destroyed me 💀, I didn't expect a comedy show to get so serious and sad like that
I love the sub-plot with Rachel and Joey reading each other's favorite books. Especially when they start spoiling each other, and when Joey comes in at the end all upset about Beth. It's so funny and so cute. Definitely a fun little bit that I love from the overall series.
Also too, when Rachel said "Maybe we should just take a break. A break from us," Ross didn't even say anything back and just left. That, to Rachel, could've been him leaving like, "Fine, you want a break? Then I'm leaving," or it could've meant "I can't believe you would even suggest we take a break." He didn't even stick around to clarify what a break meant, and he didn't even say anything as he left to let Rachel know what him leaving meant.
@@kamarifelton2589 There are even long distance relationships as opposed to gaming miles away from electronics. This show explores various types of couples. Try telling Joey's parents to work things out w/o a mistress.
Nick, you actually handled this much better than I thought you would from what I could see. I'm glad, I was worried for you because I know how much you love Ross and Rachel. The acting in 3x16 is top tier. I love the first episode of these with Monica/Richard, Joey and Rachel switching books, and the guys having to let Phoebe know about her guy "hanging out" so to speak. All three storylines were great and funny.
I think it also might be because he is reacting to it with Cody. Not saying it’s a bad thing but know Nick may be shy about showing his full emotions with someone else as opposed to alone.
@@paulbrosfornever512 I noticed it as well, nick always cries his eyes off when he's watching something sad alone by himself, not still he looked devasted
i dont think beig on a break mean they had broken up, especially bc ross just left and they didnt discuss what the break meant and ALSO bc ross slept with someone else about an hour after
Rachel thought they broke up too UNTIL Ross slept with someone. I don't think he should have slept with anyone that fast either, and I love Rachel, but they BOTH very very clearly thought they were both broken up.
Rachel litterally said that they were broken up to monica . She asked for a break on the relationship so it was a breakup. Ross should have been honest from the start instead of hiding it
I personally think it's redundant to classify it as "cheating" What that term infers is that your actions deeply hurt your partner who loves you. And regardless of if they were technically together or "on a break", he knew it would still hurt her and he made a choice.
I like the subtleness of Phoebe saying “innocent burger” as it means two things. One it wasn’t just a burger and it was a date and two she is a vegetarian who hates burgers
From my perspective, being on a break means you're still together. I'm a very literal thinker- if I'm on break from work or uni, that doesn't mean I'm not still employed or studying. Same thing with a relationship- taking a break to think things over separately so we can come together again with clear heads and thought out problems doesn't mean we broke up. I think people forget the literal definition of the word in these contexts BECAUSE their emotions are so high. Ross DID cheat bc they were on a break, not broken up. From his perspective, he thought they were broken up so I understand the argument people make on Ross's behalf, I just don't agree with Ross's logic. On top of that, I just don't think he's ready for a relationship. He's a jealous, and often selfish manipulator. He doesn't respect Rachel's carrier or trust her boundaries and you HAVE to do those things in a relationship, whether you like it or not. You don't have to like your partners new colleges or friends, you DO have to trust your partner not to cross a line and Ross never trusted Rachel not to do that.
So Rachel going right to the guy who he was clearly not okay with means nothing? Sure she said don't come over, but then opened the door for him invited him and still hung out... He thought they were hooking up, and Rachel her self said they were broken up so I don't really understand these arguments lol. I also think women can have boundaries and no one bats an eye but when men have them they are called manipulators and controlling.
While I can understand Chloe telling Isaac she slept with Ross, I never understood why Isaac would randomly tell his sister that his coworker slept with another guy that’s not him. Even as gossip it’s hard for me to imagine wanting to tell my sister, “My coworker slept with this guy she met,” when it had nothing to do with me or my sister.
I didnt even watch but I know Nick is traumatized by the last 2 episodes, feel bad for him he was so invested into Ross and Rachel and was looking forward for them to get together.... It's heartbreaking their break up, I'm not a crying person and I almost cried in the break up scene but I was dead inside during that scene, that's why I always skip these 2 episodes coz ... They destroy me inside 😢
It kind felt like the whole Roschel plot in Season 1 was pointless tho, if u see how hard Ross was trying to ask Rachel out and he saying how much he loves her and they wouldn't break up, and how they look like it would get serious and be the best relationship ever just to in the end Ross sleep with someone else right after broken up :(
I’m actually just so happy you are so invested in Ross and Rachel Nick!!! It makes these reactions so worth watching, lots of people hate towards especially Ross because of the later seasons, I still think he is hilarious though and I think most people would like him on a first time viewing.
I don't think it was intentional but Rachel has a pattern of men cheating on her. Barry, Paolo, Ross and i'm sure there were more but i can't remember The worst part is that it's realistic, this happens to people all the time
sounds like trying to make mem cheating on Rachel as her fault and that's disgusting. If the gender was switched, there would be no conversation. Rachel would be called a slut
Loved the looks on Phoebe’s and Monica’s faces when Ross pointed out that Joey and Chandler convinced him not to tell Rachel.😄 It was like Monica was saying to them “Oh did you?”
I loved Richard character, gotta love Tom Selleck acting Also after Chandler he's the best boyfriend Monica had(not a spoiler since Nick is almost on season 7 on patreon)
"Want some (chocolate milk)?" "No thanks. I'm 29." Granted, I'm a bit of a weirdo, but I'm now 46 and chocolate milk is just good. If there's an age at which you can no longer drink it, I'm not sure I want to live that long.
It's been really fun re-watching the series with you guys! I love how invested you two have become in the show as so many of us have previously. I've been so excited waiting for these episodes to come out!
EG Daily who played the singer in the second episode was also the voice they substituted for Phoebe’s in the Smelly Cat music video several episodes back.
I find Joey reading the Shining so funny 1: 447 pages and 200k+ words 2: that he himself says he hates it and hates reading it yet has read it multiple times and doesnt wanna give it to Rachel
Anyone else notice Joey talks about the ending of The Shining, but not the book version, but movie one. I always wondered if that was on purpose to preserve the books' way different third act from the more well known cinematic version. Or it's a non-canon writer's room subtextual alternate take on how events really went down and Joey never read the book and rented the movie instead, and Rachel catches him in the lie, but never lets on she knows.
@@pablosonic892 i noticed that too. I didnt read the book but do know that most of King’s books when adapted change or leave out things from the book basically making the films different stories cause of it.
Ross doesn't have a leg to stand on imo. Either he thought that there was a chance that his relationship with Rachel wasn't over and he therefore cheated, or he thought it was over so he can't expect Rachel to take him back after one night apart in which he slept with someone else. Was he under the impression that having sex with another woman would help his relationship with Rachel, no matter it's status at the time? He can't have it both ways. And tbh I don't really care whether or not he was technically in the wrong. Whether they were together or not technically, he knew that having sex with someone else would cause her pain - but he claims to love her and expects immediate acceptance of how he handled everything that night. He can't even give her a few days to process it. He wants her to do all the work of repairing what he chose to break in a matter of hours. He handled every part of this in the worse way possible, starting from when he turned up at her job, and he isn't done handling it in the worse way. He hurt her, no matter what the technicalities of the situation were, and he doesn't ever take full responsibility for that at any point. He is always more interested in avoiding taking the blame that actually caring about Rachel, and that is why the relationship had to be over.
On a lighter note, Elizabeth Daily who plays Leslie (Phoebe’s ex songwriting partner) is a PHENOMENAL voice over actor who has been a part of almost every single cartoon of my childhood (PowerPuff Girls, Rugrats, and the voice of Babe the pig!)
for Ross, seeing his partner spending more and more time with some attractive colleague who is clearly into Ross's partner, and having less time for Ross, is very painful. Plus Carol already cheated on Ross and it started out similarly, she was spening on more and more time with Susan. it is difficult for Ross to be ok with Rachel's time for him getting smaller.
I may be in the minority here, but the copy girl thing bothers me way less than how Ross was treating Rachel before hand. It was crappy of him, but on some level I get how someone gets depressed, drinks, and does something stupid. The jealousy and possessiveness was out of control before that. She finally had a job she enjoyed, and she had only been there a couple of months. You don’t have that much control of your schedule that early in a career. Plus, he didn’t trust her at all and was trying to control her friendships. I think I would have broken it off earlier than she did.
here’s my take on the situation. ross clearly had some trauma from his past relationship with carol that made him jealous and insecure about mark and rachel’s work life and i really feel for him because it’s horrible to be cheated on but none of that is rachel’s fault. if i was rachel i would need a break too! it’s exhausting to feel like your constantly letting the person you love down when you’re just trying to live your life, enjoy your work and make friends. you have to remember rachel has never had a job that she’s enjoyed before and finally feels like she’s nailing the whole “living independently” thing. as for the whole technicality of it “being on a break” i believe yes it isn’t really cheating but it’s still a huge betrayal and i believe that if rachel had slept with mark while they were “on a break” then not only would ross not have forgiven her, i don’t think the fans would’ve forgiven her character either.
tbh, that would be a very different scenario: ross felt jealous of mark, rachel decided to take a break and a few hours after that ross called her and heard mark being at her apartment at night. if she slept with mark that night, there would be ZERO justification for that, it would have just proven ross’s suspicions and made rachel’s decision to take a break look like a way to pursue something with mark.
I definitely agree with you it’s a very different scenario, and i do think it sucks that rachel was working on their anniversary but i feel like none of her behaviour justified what ross did
@@mead0ws0vergrown oh, no! I hate how ross acted towards rachel’s work and for sure jealousy is exhausting, but I can’t imagine how i would feel if my boyfriend told me that he needed a break from me and when i called him late at night he would be at home with his female colleague 🙈 i know i for sure wouldn’t have random sex with someone, but it would mostly likely cause me a nervous breakdown 😄
I think almost every viewer agrees with you guys about the dog/leg. The writing on this show could be so great and relatable, but then they'd go and say something like that.
I think Ross was an absolute idiot. Never sleep with someone the same day you break up, let it sink in first. Then again it's easy talking, we all know people who are hurt are easy to make mistakes. I also think Rachel was not really honest. Even Rachel told Monica that they "kind of broke up", but when she found out Ross slept with someone she uses the argument "we were on a break" after Ross said that he thought they had broken up.
for Rachel, having a job she's good at is a big deal. She was always told by her parents that she has to get married and never work. Now she's working and it's actually getting good. Having a boyfriend who directly ruins it for you, puts your job at risk and unfairly accuses you over and over of being into some other guy, that hurts.
I meaaan.... Ross has trust issues for a reason Carol cheated on him and he never expected that Now Rachel is talking a lot with someone else And hes afraid its gonna happen again
right like “technically “ ross didn’t cheat but he literally barely waited a few hours like he didn’t have to A) walk out the door the second rachel proposed the break and B) sleep with someone else so soon after and then literally run around town to try and make sure she never found out. ugh and marks a weirdo like he why are you calling rachel on her anniversary anyway?? and then inviting himself over and making damn sure ross heard him on the phone, like i hate that man down. but ross was just so insecure, reasonably so, his only long term relationship cheated on him so i get. he has these insecurities but his not fair to bring that into a new relationship when this new person hasn’t given you any reason. And ross really should have respected rachel’s job more because like we have to remember the girl literally couldn’t even do laundry by herself and now she’s got a job in her dream field for the first time, she’s doing something on her own and ross minimizing that really does not sit well with me at all. I agree with you guys a lot though in the end there, you guys summed it up really well

Ross: I don’t Cheat, I’m not Joey! Clearly he doesn’t remember how his relationship with Rachel Started…kissing her while he was still in a relationship with Julie. Truth be told when I first watched the entire season I wanted Ross & Rachel together but as I rewatched it i don’t. Ross holds Rachel back at times imo
And Rachel doesn't? I can't say because of spoilers but there are plenty of times Ross drops everything to help Rachel. I like them together because they both have negative qualities and positives that balance each other out.
@leonidasneves7972 Yeah, it's funny. Ross kissed her while with Julie but Rachel was part of that. Rachel wasn't exactly happy they were together including encouraging her to get a bad haircut to turn Ross off which she did again with Bonnie. Then she turns up at his wedding ready to tell him that she loves him and was ready to go on his honeymoon with him! Then there's Mona, and while that is 100% Ross' fault for not being honest with her, Rachel didn't exactly help much.
Season 3 Episode 16, the 64th episode overall and official title The One With The Morning After aired February 20th, 1997, a week after Valentine's day. This episode had such a profound effect on pop culture at large that its reverberations can still feel be felt in media 25 years later. This is a landmark episode not only for the show, but television overall. It proved sitcoms this popular could still tell compelling gripping drama and actually enrich the viewing experience and comedy. It also proved telling sitcom stories with continuity wouldn't hurt its syndication viewing if audience's saw episodes out of order when the series aired reruns into perpetuity. Honestly, this episode should've won a peabody, it's that good and had such an impact on the arts and medium of quality television.
Ross: “I thought we were broken up.” Rachel: “We were on a break.” She says it herself. EDIT: I can see how this looks as though I’m justifying Ross’ actions but that’s not what I’m doing. I’m only pointing out how Rachel is the first person to say they were on a break, when in future episodes she says they weren’t.
@@eloiserebeca6253 I’m referring to how she says this but then denies ever saying this in future episodes, when the “We were on a break,” becomes a running gag.

Also, it hasn't even been more than a couple of hours. He pitched a fit when he found out Mark was there because he doesn't TRUST Rachel enough to _just_ be friends with this guy, and rather than _talk_ to her and let her explain that her friend came over because she was upset, he hung up. If it had been Sophie who came over instead of Mark, he wouldn't be acting like this.
Mark had clearly broken up with his girlfriend by this point, why else call another women in the middle of the night. He knew exactly what he was doing talking while Ross was on the phone. Ross was right about that little worm.
@@alisaa63Trusted Rachel after she just said she wants a break is totally different than before she said that. In Ross's mind he thought that meant break up.
@amandak35 of course, it matters. No guy is gonna be cool with another dude encroaching on his girl regardless of whether or not the girlfriend shows interest. It's disrespect on another level, and I, too, would want my girl to stay far from him.
These are actually my favorite episodes. They may be sad, but the break up makes the rest of the show so much more interesting. Some of the best episodes stem from this break up.
The main factor of Ross and Rachel’s break up is their lack of communication. Ross’s insecurities and Rachel’s negligence, together with external factors especially Mark being an opportunist to Rachel as well as Joey and Chandler giving horrible advice to Ross are what made their relationship doomed from the start.
Gotta be honest, love your reactions to this show so much! Only thing that would be perfect is you react to this solo, love Cody but think you hold back your emotions a bit more with other people! Still great reaction though.
The Waxine product was based on an actual product being sold in infomercial at the time. They claimed it could wax without any pain. As you can see from how this episode went, that was some pretty bad false advertising.
I mean I think everybody knows they were NOT on a break 😜 but I'd just add something I heard a UA-camr say that was very eye opening to me. Ross's serious relationship, the only intimate one before Rachel... was Carol. and Ross has trust issues. considering she's a horrible person who cheated when she acted like she has a "friend". yeah, they share a child and found a way to get over it and get along, but those feelings weren't really addressed. Ross just accepted his faith there. so I feel like that has a very strong influence on his mental state of mind regarding the whole Rachel and Mark thing.
no, ross did cheat. He was acting out of selfish "revenge" because he though Rach was with another man, one who she repeatedly told him she wasnt sleeping with or attracted to. He is the worst.
Oh my gosh... I was just commenting about how sad Nick's clap was at the start of the final episode, and then Cody said the same thing! Lol! (And so true. OWWWWW. That episode hurts big time. David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston acted the hell out of that end scene. It's almost too painful to watch.)
Rachel told Monica they “broke up” and asked Ross “can I be your girlfriend again” so clearly she meant it to be an official break up. Ross also thought this was the case as he said to the guys at a bar and reiterated when he told Chloe that Rachel wanted to get “back together” with him. Ross worshipped Rachel his whole life and never would’ve gotten with Chloe if he didn’t truly believe Rachel broke it off for good and was already moving on to Marc. And even with all that, and him being drunk, he still resisted her advances multiple times before finally giving in. Also, if Ross were the one working 24/7 and missing their anniversary, everyone would say he needs to make time for Rachel, no matter how new the job was or how much it meant to him. Double standard imo.
Firstly Mark is a snake and a weasel But we’re not gonna address the fact that Chloe basically took advantage of a DRUNK Ross? He wasnt interested and she was just all over him. He did not seek her out to sleep with her. Just gloss over male SA? great. Now if you take the Ross Rachel stuff seriously , take that serious too.
excluding how annoying ross has been (even if feeling jealous or like they barely see eachother makes sense and i sympathise with that - doesnt make his behaviour okay tho), what he did was pretty unforgivable to me tbh... like ok ik rachel said they should go on a break but thats not officially a break up either right? i mean, what a break means is probably different for everyone.. they didn't properly discuss going on a break, they just said things in the moment, and then they especially didnt talk about what a break even means for them - so to me, ross simply cheated.. and i'm quite sure that if it were the other way around and rachel slept with someone else, ross would feel the same way she does i also dont understand how the first thing you'd wanna do after a fight like that with ur gf is... sleep with someone else ?? i will say rachel letting mark come over was not a gr8 look.. that being said, shes made it clear on multiple occasions that nothing is happening between them and it pisses me off how little ross trusted her - because ultimately thats what it is, he believed she'd cheat on him - if he didnt think that, he never wouldve been worried (maybe been just a little uncomfortable at the idea of mark trying to get with her)
Sigh. You really should watch the whole video before commenting. If you continued watching for 5 more seconds, he says he didn’t do anything wrong in the sense he didn’t deliberately cheat. Of course what he did was wrong but he didn’t purposely cheat on Rachel.
@@mansishukla6779 no the terrible thing is suggesting a break and then inviting Mark over knowing how Ross feels about him. Ross did that "terrible thing" because he thought she was going to have sex with mark when he heard him over the phone moments after she suggested the break
Ross did not gaslight Rachel. He was completely right. She's the one who wanted the break, she's the one who had Mark over. Ross always just wanted to be with her, but she did these things to him, and all this after she knew how Ross felt about Mark. I'm sorry, but I'm all for team Ross here. @@xBloodxFangx she said she was not involved with him, yes, but the guy kept being interested in her and insisting, and he was making Ross uncomfortable. It's good sense to not keep hanging out with someone who makes your so uncomfortable. And a "break" is neither here nor there. Tf is that, "we're not together but we're not separated"? Assume it, you're either together or you're not, there's no inbetween. Rachel didn't want to have an uncomfortable talk with Ross, so came up with this bullshit excuse of "taking a break". You don't "take breaks" from a relationship. And Ross was right, they just had to cool down a bit, get some frozen yoghurt or something, and an hour later, when they're both calmer, they should have discussed the issue and come up with a solution. That's how adults behave, and more importantly, that's how people in a non-toxic relationship interact with each other, by offering reassurance and by being there for each other. It's not normal that when Ross felt uncomfortable, she just wanted to get away from him. If it was too much in the heat of the moment, going to a frozen yoghurt with him would have helped them both alleviate the situation. Ross would have been way more accepting of the situation, seeing as Rachel is spending time with him too, Rachel would have had a different fresh memory in her head, of going out and relaxing instead of stressing at work and with this issue, and when they would have arrived back home, they would not even have cared which one of them should apologize, they would have been focused on discussing and finding a solution. But Rachel literally bailed on him, just like Ross said
@@mansishukla6779 then she really should have been more specific, she should have communicated it better. The way she acted and what she said, it was like she didn't want Ross anymore
It's interesting that Rachel says, 'she was worth jeopardising our relationship' but then doesn't feel the same about Mark. Again, if we switch roles and Ross had been the one with a colleague that made Rachel feel uncomfortable and then after when he says they should go on a break Rachel discovers the woman is around his apartment, I think fans' opinions would still be more sympathetic towards Rachel and angry at Ross for not taking Rachels feelings into account. As far as The Break it was not agreed they had actually broken up but when Rachel shows up the next day she asks, 'can i be your girlfriend again'. Which means that she also thought they had broken up. Thats just on the break, otherwise my feeling is Ross was of course in the wrong because even if they did break up it had only just happened, although, there were reasons why it happened which i don't think a lot of fans take into account on Ross' side.

He said “Rachel from the coffee shop” so he probably knows that she and Phoebe are friends and probably knew Phoebe worked with his sister.
It kind felt like the whole Roschel plot in Season 1 was pointless tho, if u see how hard Ross was trying to ask Rachel out and he saying how much he loves her and they wouldn't break up, and how they look like it would get serious and be the best relationship ever just to in the end Ross sleep with someone else right after broken up :(
Thankfully, Season 4 Introduces A Much Better, Non-Toxic Relationship That Creates Some Of The Most Beautiful Moments In The Remaining 6 Seasons!
@@joshuawinters7644 stop saying toxic - you sound like a child - grow up

I’m actually just so happy you are so invested in Ross and Rachel Nick!!! It makes these reactions so worth watching, lots of people hate towards especially Ross because of the later seasons, I still think he is hilarious though and I think most people would like him on a first time viewing.
Mark knew what he was doing. He played the fake nice game and like Chandler and Joey predicted, drove a wedge between them.
That's why I think Ross is not 100% of the blame. He was right about Mark all along
I don't think it was intentional but Rachel has a pattern of men cheating on her. Barry, Paolo, Ross and i'm sure there were more but i can't remember
The worst part is that it's realistic, this happens to people all the time
sounds like trying to make mem cheating on Rachel as her fault and that's disgusting. If the gender was switched, there would be no conversation. Rachel would be called a slut
Except ross didn't cheat....
@hhhhhhhh552 Right they were on a break
My point still stands tho
Yeah, Chip and Timmy from high school
Loved the looks on Phoebe’s and Monica’s faces when Ross pointed out that Joey and Chandler convinced him not to tell Rachel.😄 It was like Monica was saying to them “Oh did you?”
Ross and Rachel fight scenes are so convincing.
Luv that you guys are doin 4 epi’s at a time. That’s awesome
1 - I Agree that they where on a break
2 - Sleeping with someone else the same night as you break up with someone is NOT ok either.
The one playing Phoebe's former music partner is the same woman who voiced Tommy Pickles in Rugrats.
imo Ross was wrong the moment he barged into Rachel's office when she told him not to.
I have to say Tom Selleck is the best star on this show. Even runs up with Elliot Gould. Perfection.
Sexiest guest star 😍
I loved Richard character, gotta love Tom Selleck acting
Also after Chandler he's the best boyfriend Monica had(not a spoiler since Nick is almost on season 7 on patreon)
"One wrong doesnt make another one right though" THANK YOU CODY! Ross was so frustrating during this (though he has always been frustrating).
"Want some (chocolate milk)?"
"No thanks. I'm 29."
Granted, I'm a bit of a weirdo, but I'm now 46 and chocolate milk is just good. If there's an age at which you can no longer drink it, I'm not sure I want to live that long.
Don't get allergic to sugar 🤞
(As in negative reactions to having even tiny amounts)
Finally! Someone who gets it!
EG Daily also did Jake’s voice singing the theme from ‘Two and a Half Men’. It’s NOT Angus T. Jones singing.
Good reaction Nick.
I find Joey reading the Shining so funny
1: 447 pages and 200k+ words
2: that he himself says he hates it and hates reading it yet has read it multiple times and doesnt wanna give it to Rachel
I didnt read the book but do know that most of King’s books when adapted change or leave out things from the book basically making the films different stories cause of it.
oh no we've reached this part 😢
These men (Ross and Mark) need to actually listen to Rachel when she talks and sets her boundaries
🌸 do you guys remember the Rugrats cartoon?
the girl that plays Phoebe's singing friend - did the voice of Tommy.
Get ready for a whole 6 seasons of "WE WERE ON A BREAK"
I came here to say that too! 😂😂😂😂😂
@@speedyv6247 more like season 3 and the 1st ep of season 4 tho
for Ross, seeing his partner spending more and more time with some attractive colleague who is clearly into Ross's partner, and having less time for Ross, is very painful. Plus Carol already cheated on Ross and it started out similarly, she was spening on more and more time with Susan. it is difficult for Ross to be ok with Rachel's time for him getting smaller.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Friends episode!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I may be in the minority here, but the copy girl thing bothers me way less than how Ross was treating Rachel before hand. It was crappy of him, but on some level I get how someone gets depressed, drinks, and does something stupid. The jealousy and possessiveness was out of control before that. She finally had a job she enjoyed, and she had only been there a couple of months. You don’t have that much control of your schedule that early in a career. Plus, he didn’t trust her at all and was trying to control her friendships. I think I would have broken it off earlier than she did.
Keep up the good work 👍🏻
here’s my take on the situation. ross clearly had some trauma from his past relationship with carol that made him jealous and insecure about mark and rachel’s work life and i really feel for him because it’s horrible to be cheated on but none of that is rachel’s fault. if i was rachel i would need a break too! it’s exhausting to feel like your constantly letting the person you love down when you’re just trying to live your life, enjoy your work and make friends. you have to remember rachel has never had a job that she’s enjoyed before and finally feels like she’s nailing the whole “living independently” thing.
as for the whole technicality of it “being on a break” i believe yes it isn’t really cheating but it’s still a huge betrayal and i believe that if rachel had slept with mark while they were “on a break” then not only would ross not have forgiven her, i don’t think the fans would’ve forgiven her character either.
tbh, that would be a very different scenario: ross felt jealous of mark, rachel decided to take a break and a few hours after that ross called her and heard mark being at her apartment at night. if she slept with mark that night, there would be ZERO justification for that, it would have just proven ross’s suspicions and made rachel’s decision to take a break look like a way to pursue something with mark.
OMG I’ve been waiting for this episode since y’all started watching friends it’s a emotional roller coaster
My two favourite episodes of the series! 3x15 and 3x16!
I think almost every viewer agrees with you guys about the dog/leg. The writing on this show could be so great and relatable, but then they'd go and say something like that.
It made you cry. I did cry the first time I watched. And this being my 135th time still cried with you.
I really do not 100% blame Ross. Both of them were terrible at communicating in the relationship
Yeah, I kinda blame them both too but I'm not sure which I blame more? Maybe Rachel because she keeps changing what she meant by "a break from us"
for Rachel, having a job she's good at is a big deal. She was always told by her parents that she has to get married and never work. Now she's working and it's actually getting good. Having
a boyfriend who directly ruins it for you, puts your job at risk and unfairly accuses you over and over of being into some other guy, that hurts.
I meaaan.... Ross has trust issues for a reason
Carol cheated on him and he never expected that
Now Rachel is talking a lot with someone else
And hes afraid its gonna happen again
Chandler's face at 4:27 also your face Nick at 18:30 I love em LMFAO 🤣
Chandler and Joey need to stop giving relationship advices XD
the writers handled the ross/rachel situation very well. i think they're the most toxic tv couples ever but the props to the writers
right like “technically “ ross didn’t cheat but he literally barely waited a few hours like he didn’t have to A) walk out the door the second rachel proposed the break and B) sleep with someone else so soon after and then literally run around town to try and make sure she never found out.
ugh and marks a weirdo like he why are you calling rachel on her anniversary anyway?? and then inviting himself over and making damn sure ross heard him on the phone, like i hate that man down. but ross was just so insecure, reasonably so, his only long term relationship cheated on him so i get. he has these insecurities but his not fair to bring that into a new relationship when this new person hasn’t given you any reason.
And ross really should have respected rachel’s job more because like we have to remember the girl literally couldn’t even do laundry by herself and now she’s got a job in her dream field for the first time, she’s doing something on her own and ross minimizing that really does not sit well with me at all.
I agree with you guys a lot though in the end there, you guys summed it up really well
Rachel being "just a waitress" was a reason for Ross not to choose her and Rachel getting a better job was too much...

It would have been so cute if ross came just to bring her food then leave and just say I love you. Good luck tonight and left. That would have made it perfect!
Well she did make him broke up with his current girlfriends throughout the show tho
Honestly, this episode should've won a peabody, it's that good and had such an impact on the arts and medium of quality television.
awesome traction guys can't wait for the next set
The breakup between Ross and Rachel was always inevitable ever since Ross started to get jealous of that guy Rachel worked with
I still wonder why the show runners decided to spilt Ross and Rachel up here.
26:39 I don't understand this part 'just like rachel in high school' can anyone explain
Ross: “I thought we were broken up.”
Rachel: “We were on a break.”
She says it herself.
EDIT:
I can see how this looks as though I’m justifying Ross’ actions but that’s not what I’m doing. I’m only pointing out how Rachel is the first person to say they were on a break, when in future episodes she says they weren’t.
Two different meanings.
It doesn't justify Ross sleeping with someone else hours later
@@eloiserebeca6253 I’m referring to how she says this but then denies ever saying this in future episodes, when the “We were on a break,” becomes a running gag.
@@royalreptile923 and then in the next episode she just says "we broke up instead" and in his answering machine she even talks about the break up thing being dum...... One time she says she wants a break the other she says they were Broken up and then she says they were on a break.... Confusion
Ross was right about that little worm.
yeah but does it really matter? he should trust rachel, not mark
@@alisaa63 Yeah, like he trusted Carol! Oh wait... ;p
@@catxborsuq1 Is carol rachel? No? Well I guess that makes sense then!

Awwwwww I remember that episode that show was really sad
The Waxine product was based on an actual product being sold in infomercial at the time. They claimed it could wax without any pain. As you can see from how this episode went, that was some pretty bad false advertising.
Nick don't go there... avoid taking sides😂the fans of the show have been fighting over this for days
i will not give anything away but i have to say the "on a break" Rachel & Jennifer Aniston will never be able to live that down
Ross: I wonder how many people would go see a film called Jurassic Parka.
Me: Well, they did seem to like The Devil Wears Prada. 😉😄😆
Nah its cheating, they had a fight, he slept with a girl that same night. Technicality feels just wrong in this situation.
THEY WERE ON A BREAK ! XD
She says to Monica later that she meant it as a real break up
I mean I think everybody knows they were NOT on a break 😜
but I'd just add something I heard a UA-camr say that was very eye opening to me.
Exactly this, and exactly the reason he is the worst character in the show cause he honestly never changes.
🌸 I love Issac
Firstly Mark is a snake and a weasel
But we’re not gonna address the fact that Chloe basically took advantage of a DRUNK Ross? He wasnt interested and she was just all over him. He did not seek her out to sleep with her. Just gloss over male SA? great.
Now if you take the Ross Rachel stuff seriously , take that serious too.
excluding how annoying ross has been (even if feeling jealous or like they barely see eachother makes sense and i sympathise with that - doesnt make his behaviour okay tho), what he did was pretty unforgivable to me tbh... like ok ik rachel said they should go on a break but thats not officially a break up either right? i mean, what a break means is probably different for everyone.. they didn't properly discuss going on a break, they just said things in the moment, and then they especially didnt talk about what a break even means for them - so to me, ross simply cheated.. and i'm quite sure that if it were the other way around and rachel slept with someone else, ross would feel the same way she does
i also dont understand how the first thing you'd wanna do after a fight like that with ur gf is... sleep with someone else ??
i will say rachel letting mark come over was not a gr8 look.. that being said, shes made it clear on multiple occasions that nothing is happening between them and it pisses me off how little ross trusted her - because ultimately thats what it is, he believed she'd cheat on him - if he didnt think that, he never wouldve been worried (maybe been just a little uncomfortable at the idea of mark trying to get with her)
Would anyone like to see the animated sitcom 6teen on here?

Sigh. You really should watch the whole video before commenting. If you continued watching for 5 more seconds, he says he didn’t do anything wrong in the sense he didn’t deliberately cheat. Of course what he did was wrong but he didn’t purposely cheat on Rachel.

Sheesh, Rachel isn't even denying the "break" yet and everyone's forgetting it was her idea.
So what? Ross still did a terrible thing
@@mansishukla6779 no the terrible thing is suggesting a break and then inviting Mark over knowing how Ross feels about him. Ross did that "terrible thing" because he thought she was going to have sex with mark when he heard him over the phone moments after she suggested the break
Hiya nick watch top cat the movie
First comment!
And?????
Ross is right🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ross did not gaslight Rachel. He was completely right. She's the one who wanted the break, she's the one who had Mark over. Ross always just wanted to be with her, but she did these things to him, and all this after she knew how Ross felt about Mark. I'm sorry, but I'm all for team Ross here. I can't stand him as a general character, but in this argument he's right
She said several times she was NOT involved with Mark. She also said she wanted a BREAK not a BREAK UP. No, he is not right at all.
But Rachel literally bailed on him, just like Ross said
I think she wanted some space, and she would have repaired things with Ross, if Ross was only capable of actually listening to her
@@mansishukla6779 then she really should have been more specific, she should have communicated it better.
