The NHL learn from the mistakes of MLB it's one thing to be the first to try the "New thing" and learn from the mistakes but to be second in line and have the same mistakes without learning from it would be foolish.
Is it also Nike's fault that Mitchell & Ness quality immediately went south when Fanatics bought them? Why do most people despise Fanatics? Because they've been ripping people off for years. Those "lighter materials" are simply "cheaper materials". My "authentic" Evander Kane jersey has sublimated patches /numbering that is ironed on to the jersey. Fake stitching. The base material would get ripped quickly if used in an actual hockey game. Pitiful. 11:10 You nailed it. Fanatics is absolutely to blame, whether they like it or not. When you take on a project, you make sure the product is top notch, or raise hell to correct it.

You don't mass produce a crappy quality product, and let the customer be your quality assurance, and then cry that "we did what we were told" after backlash. Fanatics produces it. Fanatics sells it. Fanatics is responsible. Yes, Nike and the MLB are responsible, too. They all dropped the ball.
I have been so disappointed with their products. Remember when you used to buy a cotton team shirt and it was thick and you could use it for chores, and your paint shirt because it's so sturdy?? I have tried a couple cotton SF Giants shits from them and it's the exact same thing as these jerseys. Cheap, cheap, cheap, strangly enough the price of the shirt went up.
Fanatics sucks, has been complete dogshit for years and is finally getting called out for their cheaply made knockoff looking crap. F Fanatics and Rubin.
You're letting your previous bias influence your opinion here. Fanatics has been making MLB jerseys for players since 2017. The changes here are definitely not all Fanatics' fault. I think it's pretty clear that it's not even a majority of Fanatics' fault. If I had to guess, it's mostly Nike as most of this is design rather than execution.
ye man.... you think MLB and Nike sat in their offices with the blinds drawn, sitting under their desk, totally oblivious to the world and the indifferent universe it exists in???? No. They seen this... and said "sure" I also have observed (anecdotal) that no one is calling for Nike to make this themselves.
This entire situation speaks to how Baseball is run by people that have no idea how the players or fans feel. These changes were approved by a bunch of people who though "Good enough, who cares it's just a jersey" without understanding why the details matter.
It's Far Far worse than "good enough" it's "we need performance wear at any cost." The MLB is a "pro-league" so they want to impress everyone with how "sports science" the league is. They look and feel like shit because the MLB is more concerned about how many grams the jersey weighs then they about how it looks. All because some nerd told them they would increase the average player's ability to beat the throw at first base by 0.02% under ideal circumstances. It doesn't matter how much they spend when their attitude to the jersey is "how do we reduce wind resistance and saturation uptake whilst increasing passive cooling whilst stationary" then it's not being made for a person it's being made for a task.
Its not that they dont have any idea how players or fans feel. They simply DONT CARE. They know people will still buy them even if they hate the quality… so why change it back… lesser quality product but higher profits is the name of the game… if people stopped buying they would change it in a heartbeat
In general, Nike should not have basically the monopoly on uniforms across all pro leagues. NBA jerseys look like counterfeit crap…nfl jerseys feel like cardboard…mlb is the next victim in Nike‘s insane cost-cutting, quality lowering madness…everything looks cheap, because IT IS cheap…late-stage greed.
They cut costs and yet charge more. It's the defining capitalist structure of the modern age and its all blamed on inflation. Tired of that excuse by these corporate execs
Hey Brodie, I am not sure exactly how you got on my feed, but I am so happy you did. Your coverage of the A’s situation hooked me and I am not a Bay Area fan. Then all of your coverage of all the other teams new stadium situations has been just as excellent. Now uniform-gate, great stuff. Thanks for putting out great info and not just screaming overhyped “news”. You know I appreciate it.
Oh no! The CEO of a company notorious for poor quality products is getting called for the poor quality of their products? He deserves no sympathy for this and he gets zero credit for what he said because the way he runs his company shows he’s never cared about the quality just bleeding as much profit at the expense of fans. I expect the quality for the on field uniforms will get better because of this backlash but the items the fans will buy will continue to be garbage and they will probably raise the price even more just because.
@@damienirvin95 Good point. I was thinking more in terms of Fanatics crying about looking bad and being dragged by the internet when they’re notorious for putting out bad products consistently.
You're given specifications by a client, you execute the product to spec, the failure of the product is on the client. The issue is that at no point did anyone at Fanatics or Nike say "Hey, these look like hot, wet dogshit".
if Fanatics didn't want to be the target of all the blaming, then they should have always been producing quality products, regardless of what league it was for, from the start, but because all they seemingly know how to make is garbage quality products they get all the blame and companies like Nike get to walk away with very little of the blame in a situation like this. If Fanatics were smart, they'd start improving the quality of their products to avoid more situations like this where they get blamed for decisions made by the companies that contract them for production
At 2:18, are my eyes deceiving me or is Gamboa's name lopsided? The numbers don't indicate any sort of bunched up fabric that could create this illusion, but it just doesn't look right.
Hello, I’m a professional seamstress and I’m actually tailoring stuff while watching this video your point about why people are upset about the end of the sleeves it looks less clean the tubing looks unfinished I’m unsure if that makes sense but it just it’s a raw edge and it doesn’t look good. It also doesn’t align with baseball traditions..
I laugh at the performance aspect of these new uniforms. Baseball is a sport that doesn't necessarily demand lighter material. Batters get on base 20-30% of the time, 90 feet of running. Outfielders stand around most of the time. Infielders have a small radius they are responsible for. Pitcher works the hardest. Lineup sits on the bench waiting to bat every other inning. The game is not physically demanding like soccer, basketball, football. So much time to rest. There is no need for all of these changes. Possibly cheaper to make and increased profit margins more like it. Sweat...the Majestic/Nike were just fine for the sport.
The funny part is there's no way they are cheaper. The polyester and cotton account for 90% of the fabric markets. Just acquiring the base material for specialised wank jerseys are going to cost more. Then there's the machines, the designers etc, etc.
the thing I can't stand is after all of this they still raised the price. id be willing to cut them a lot more slack if they lowered the price, maybe even if they kept it the same, but raising it kinda makes it all feel like a cash grab
They were told they were doing well even though they knew they were cost cutting. When the 23 all Star game jerseys sold well they assumed that they should replace all of them. The reason why it was fine for the ASG is because we thought it would be a one off style and it wasn't comparable to anything we had before. They shouldn't have been cost cutting while charging more. They should've known that the style sucks. They should've known the pants were see through. They okay'ed all of this all through the process. Nike can't be complacent like this.
Not since George Costanzo was assistant to the assistant traveling secretary for the Yankees n they changed to wool uniforms.has there been thus many problems w uniforms
I’m going to be real, I came in furious with fanatics, but now I’m wondering if this was an MLB thing, they care about saving money/capitalizing, and they knew the reputation going into allowing fanatics to take over the jersey production. It’s starting to feel like they did this on purpose, knowing they could put the blame on fanatics. What I hate as well is that many people that bought New Jerseys and hate them will lose on shipping, restocking fee 10%, and that’s a huge blow to us the fans. It seems that the only thing that we can do is not buy anything baseball related. Boycott if you will. I know I will.
I’m so confused as to why Fanatics is even involved at all. Nike is a sports apparel company and so is Fanatics. Why isn’t Nike just making these directly themselves??? Also, people have every right to be pissed. This is blatant price gouging. Jerseys used to be a reasonable $65-$75. Now they’re like $180 for less and cheaper material. It’s absolutely insane.
I felt kind of called out when Brodie said I wasn't a Taylor. YOU DON'T KNOW ME! (Just kidding, lol) I am absolutely loving these videos Brodie, they are becoming "must watch" for me, keep up the good work
Fanatics to Boeing: ‘Ok, if you want use to use scotch tape instead of proper torqued fasteners….”. How many MLB people are needed to avoid this debacle? Don’t know - none were used.
It really comes down to who was involved in the design change and approval of them! Majestic, who had been manufacturing the uniforms for years, is a Fanatics owned subsidiary.
I know they were used the NBA jersey model to make these new MLB models. The way they lowered the logo to under the collar and the smaller nameplate really gave it away
I’m a jersey collector, NHL and MLB mostly, but i also have a handful of NBA and NFL jerseys as well. However, I haven’t bought anything over the last year or two since Fanatics really came to play with the big boys. It’s almost like I’m paralyzed with fear to buy anything even remotely associated with them. I’m also legally blind, so I can’t just look at side-by-side comparisons on a screen and visually pick out all the mistakes. Same goes for any up close and personal real life inspections -- I just can’t see what an average person can and most of my “seeing” is done with my hands, so regardless of how well and/or how often i inspect a jersey, there will always be things about it that I miss. Therefore, I try to order from as many official sources as possible, heavily rely on the little blurb/write-up describing each jersey/product (even with as boiler plate as they tend to be), and lastly is just utilizing the fan community by searching for reviews that someone may have done on the exact product I’m interested in, and of course sometimes it’s just about reaching out to someone, anyone, everyone in the community for help until you find who or what you’re looking for. Everyone I’ve interacted with to this point has been more than accommodating. Bottom line, first, it was hockey, now it’s baseball… I’m not a big fan of what Fanatics is doing with jerseys/uniforms… They do make pretty decent hoodies though.
Look at that first picture of a Cleveland Guardians player interviewing another player. Look at the piping on their sleeves. They are totally different. What a mess
1:29 not quite sure about that…they were a number of teams with cuffed elastic sleeves. Others had piping, again others had just the soutache over the seam of the sleeve.
With time to think about this more, there is just something so comical about the size of the number and last name on the back of the jerseys. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look past that it just looks unprofessional and unserious. The pants are more of a separate NSFW issue. I think they will switch back to the old template whenever they can. Maybe they won’t. Either way fans will never be able to look past the flaws until they are addressed as it really will look weird and unusual to a trained eye on TV.
Buying fan gear online is always hit or miss. I have learned the hard way with hats. They are never what they look like on the website, with flimsy materials. Some things you just have to go to the store to buy!
I hate the fact that Fanatics has such a crazy monopoly in sports. It is garbage gear from clothing to sports cards to the other crummy memorabilia they are shilling on people.
Fanatics does suck but this is more on Nike and MLB. Fanatics is making the jerseys and pants that Nike and MLB designed. People are missing that part. I saw somewhere that Fanatics told MLB that some of this was gonna happen and they didn’t care.
I’m not sure at all this is the case. Fanatics is well known for shoddy quality, they have a history of using substandard materials. I suspect Fanatics actually pitched Nike and MLB on what they would do (and most importantly the price point). It can’t be a coincidence that the quality of MLB on-field product AND merchandise AND the Mitchell and Ness jerseys all went down when Fanatics took over manufacture of them. There is a common thread to each of those problems.
@TheChancellor212 true...but again MLB and Nike designed these uniforms. Fanatics made what they were told. Yes they are shitty but all the blame can't be put on them.
It sounds like to me that everyone got together and decided on these “cheaper to make” jerseys, without talking to anyone. This is meant to be confusing so that way the blame can get shifted and no one really get the flak. Why in the world would NIKE sign off on this crap? it makes no sense at all as to why they would make these cheap “knock off” jerseys. It’s all to save face and money. absolutely ridiculous
Regardless of how much blame should be placed on Fanatics, this is a perfect example of how a CEO should NOT respond to a crisis in their business. You don't "blame shift" by saying "we built it to design". Your company should have had the skill to realize there might be a problem and to address it before this was released.
Fanatics has designers that work with the teams to come up with the approved designs. Similar to how Fanatics a few months back hired a designer in Tampa to work on the NHL designs for next year. It seems they may have rushed the process and surely all parties are to blame. How did MLB, Nike, the Team brand staff, and equipment managers all come to a conclusion that these uniforms were approvable? That's the big lingering question. At the end of the day the NHL may face a lot of the same flat patch and nameplate issues next year. It's a forgone conclusion that that they will want to reduce cost and use the "lightweight performance" justification. The only saving grace may be that the same manufacturing facility that Reebok / Adidas used will produce the player sweaters and this MLB situation came along at hopefully the right time. However, I will 100% guarantee that the fan-purchasable sweaters are going to be absolutely cost cut and of reduced quality.
Fanatics is just trying to look like the victim in all of this. They've been abusing consumers with overpriced garbage for years. Abusers always look at how they are the victim.
Fanatics says they made it to Nike/MLB specs. Other than the placement of the MLB logo, I haven’t seen Nike or MLB confirm that they designed the three-shades-of-gray look. I also believe Fanatics had a hand in writing the specs and communicating their capabilities to the designers. But moreso than any of that, the crooked and off-center lettering on the back of some player jerseys is entirely on Fanatics. I seriously doubt Nike gave them a template for every single player name. Yes, Fanatics’ poor reputation follows them, and leans heavily into my response. If they’re trying to shed their reputation for producing crappy products, agreeing to produce a crappy product isn’t the way to do it. It just makes no sense to me that the my signed up for this without expecting the backlash.
Fanatics is crap they make crap. Now, they are the only place to buy teams' gear. We are all getting the shaft, and now it costs more for less quality.
Fanatics is a known commodity when it comes to lack of quality. It's funny though how quiet Nike has been when they do the design work. It's almost like sacrificing Fanatics to shield them from blame. Nike's jersey designs have been terrible for years now (especially World Cup and Olympics gear).
The Fanatics criticism isn't happening in a vacuum....people have been buying their merchandise online for years and have had the cheaply made clothing disintegrate quickly. This is not some new issue.
I honestly don't mind the striping to be the edge of the jersey. It was common in the 1970s, & 1980s in every league. That's my only positive opinion. ---------------------------------------- From the stands, you can't see the raindow nameplate because of it being smaller. I don't mind the rainbow arch of the name if it's a name like "Saltalamachia", "Lombardozzi", "Crow-Armstrong", or "Encarnocion-Strand". But you can't see names like "Burnes", "Machado", "Ortiz", "Gausman", etc ---------------------------------------- The MLB logo should be above the piping, not below. It looks more cluttered by doing that. ---------------------------------------- Look, MLB, Nike, & Fanatics has the stuff to make a delicious cake, but what we got was a burnt cake that also expanded too much.
Here's the thing. Fanatics never cared when they were producing poor quality merchandise, poor customer service, not making unique team merchandise, basically copy and paste from across the league, and then upcharge out of the wazoo. Even if Fanatics "did everything right" the customer has no reason to believe them. The fanatics CEO doesn't deserve any credit in till they actually make a good product. They deserve all the criticism for this. When you are creating a monopoly and selling out the quality for quantity, you deserve everything that comes to you.
It's rough already, buying a replica jersey for $150 but at least the quality on them was above and beyond. Now the want us to pay the same price for a jersey that used to be free for the first 15,000 at the park on fan appreciation day.
I bought some shirts a month or so ago. Fanatics uses the cheapest shirts they can find. I have Nike and Majestic shirts and they are 100 times better then what Fanatics is offering. And they aren't even cheap. Still 30+ a shirt. I feel like this is a big mistake for MLB. It wasn't broken to begin with.
They could have foreseen that these “lightweight” and “breathable” jerseys designed for performance for the players would not be suitable for consumer purchases. They should have continued making the higher quality jerseys for fans to buy. They specifically decided against this or perhaps didn’t have the time for both? which would indicate it was poorly executed by MLB/NIKE and later Fanatics. They saw an opportunity to capitalize on using cheaper material and then later go “🤷 wElL i DoNt KnOw”. Also, how are you going to say those tiny letters - players’s names are unrecognizable from on field camera angles - are just fans having to get used to change??
The only team not affected by this change are the Yankees. In fact, they did the greatest thing for their fanbase by changing the road jerseys. They're going back to the pre-Steinbrenner era unis worn by the likes of Ruth, Gehrig, Joe Di, Mickey, etc.
All I know boys is I just cleaned/ professionally stored my Majestic/Russell Athletic/Majestic (Nike) labeled jerseys. I kept a few "beaters" out . Jersey quality is pretty much over, I can't count on wearing out a Majestic USA Authentic, & be able to purchase a equivalent quality at the store. I'd rather wear a knockoff jersey from the thrift store with patches, than these atrocities!
I have gotten a new hotel room because the shower faced the wrong way. I’ve thrown out t-shirts because the logo is too heavy. If I were a player, something being completely different would throw me off.
NHL fan here. Fanatics jerseys are some of the lowest quality jerseys I've ever seen. I've got a Fanatics Kachina jersey that genuinely feels like the logos are just glued on and sent out, without any care. Fans have had problems with their lack of QC for YEARS, since they got the license for fan jerseys. Even NFL and NBA fans are annoyed, after buying a sweatshirt and getting one with a tag for a different league and having yet ANOTHER league's team on the front and back, with the logo of the team they wanted. Fanatics has had crap QC since the start. Nike and MLB are to blame for not knowing this, or knowing it and going ahead with them anyway, but Fanatics is the one who manufactures the stuff: they're to blame here.
All I care about is this being a wake up call so Fanatics doesn’t screw up the NHL jerseys. Those who say, “Fanatics has been making them for a while” seem to forget the MiC ones fans (and players) wear is made in the Adidas factory in Quebec. That will change when Fanatics takes over & starts using their own facility to make the crappy jerseys they’re doing now. If this fan pushback is strong enough, they’ll get their heads out of their asses and made the NHL ones right from the get-go.
I think it's fine to have a lesser option in jerseys. Not everyone wants to spend over $300 on a jersey. But as a hockey jersey collector, I'm not too excited about the lesser option being the only option, and you know darn well they aren't going to charge less. I'm not going to pay $300+ on a thin, cheap jersey. Looks like I'll be saving some money!
The other part of it is, Fanatics has been showing off for years.. and if the products had been welcomed with open arms, would they be trying to shift the praise?? If course not.. they would be patting themselves on the back.
There's a laundry list of issues with these uniforms. Unnecessary Font changes, see through pants, colors mismatching, last names look like little league jerseys, and iron on everything is just tacky. I believe the worst part is the clearly lower quality and materials and yet they upped the base price for each jersey as if their consumers are stupid. We are all talking about who to blame instead of what can be done to fix this. It is a multimillion dollar problem as you know they made hefty stock for the start of the new season not to mention the planned city connect jerseys that have missed so bad thus far, you know they are in production already with these lower quality materials. baseball has quite the hole they've yet again put themselves in.
Nike did design, so Fanatics is making what they are told to. Nike and MLB did a horrible job in quality control when these were shown to them at some point and were approved for across the board use by MLB teams. However...in the spec Fanatics received, did it/does it show jerseys and pants a different color??? Is that part of the design, or is that a screw up in production by Fanatics? Did no one at Fanatics raise their hand and ask, 'Is this what you want, different colors on top and bottom??' No one at Nike or MLB saw that as a problem. As I'm typing this, what comes to mind is the finger pointing/outsourcing that is going on at Boeing and all their contract subassembly manufactures. No one kept track of what was being done. Obviously the airline business is a bigger deal with safety then baseball, but the uniform issue is obvious to anyone who looks at it, an airliner not so much. No way anyone should pay $400 for these cheap knock offs.
1) If I were a baker and the client asked me to put dog shit in a cake, there would be a discussion, I wouldn't just do what I was told. 2) Fanatics can blame their history/reputation as the reason they're not getting the benefit of the doubt.
If only Fanatics didn't have a well known reputation of immediately dropping the quality of any "jersey" product they touch ... they're probably just thinking if they dropped the quality "one tier" less no one would care.
The statement just shows that Michael Rubin is good at trying to deflect blame. Don’t blame us, blame Nike and the players with endorsements. The fact that they created crap product everywhere else shouldn’t matter in this case. The only thing that will change it is if they take a loss on fan jerseys
There's a bit of a philosophical argument here though. Is "do what we told" the best approach when you're working with the top athletes in the world? The Nike slogans for that are mainly lip-service though. Just look at the Fanatics CEO's business history and how much he's dealt with second-hand sporting goods. "Quality" isn't really his forte. I mean good on him, American dream realized or whatever. But of course he wouldn't be one anyone could expect to balk at what is going on here. He clearly is not a roll-up-your-sleeves type of guy when it comes to the greater good of quality control. And this - is on Manfred for not recognizing the partnership on that. Topps baseball cards are turning into crap under Fanatics too. 100% garbage in, garbage out, get what you pay for, etc. He can't retire soon enough.
Fanatics is a terrible company in making jersey they cheap out to make more money. If no one buys them they will be forced to change it or lower the price. I know I am not buying them lol they just saved me a lot of money
Come on guys. We all know the changes to jersey construction were based on cutting cost. Those dri-fit materials are thinner, less expensive and easier to wear down than the traditional jerseys. Nike wanted to save money. This comes from a person that likes dri-fit and performance materials for the most part. I’d just prefer baseball jerseys to be a bit more substantial and weighty.

No.
They seen this... and said "sure"
I also have observed (anecdotal) that no one is calling for Nike to make this themselves.
its almost like you didn't even watch the video before commenting this.
It is Chinese counterfeit products
It's like " it's just a piece of metal". Manfred"s quote on the Astros stolen season world series trophy.
MLB signed up for this because they are making more money also. Wake up.
@@hsproyayaexactly this. MLB went with the highest bidder and Nike went with the lowest manufacture bidder
100% all teams should have their own contracts with manufacturers like adidas, Reebok, champion , new balance.
You know I appreciate it.
thanks for saying that! glad you found me!
You know what's not fun Mr. Rubin, paying $40 for a t-shirt you wait for for 3 weeks just to have a crooked logo.
Fanatics blaming Nike is like a burglar blaming the home owner for having an easy lock to pick. 😂
Nah it's like one of the burglars blaming the other two for them getting caught. Fanatics, Nike, and MLB all had a hand in this one 😂
@@damienirvin95 Good point. I was thinking more in terms of Fanatics crying about looking bad and being dragged by the internet when they’re notorious for putting out bad products consistently.
Well it’s how Nike wanted them to make it lol
@@damienirvin95 yep
You're given specifications by a client, you execute the product to spec, the failure of the product is on the client. The issue is that at no point did anyone at Fanatics or Nike say "Hey, these look like hot, wet dogshit".
It's a decades old story. Company says it's new and better to hide a cheaper product designed to make more money. All three parties are guilty.
if Fanatics didn't want to be the target of all the blaming, then they should have always been producing quality products, regardless of what league it was for, from the start, but because all they seemingly know how to make is garbage quality products they get all the blame and companies like Nike get to walk away with very little of the blame in a situation like this. If Fanatics were smart, they'd start improving the quality of their products to avoid more situations like this where they get blamed for decisions made by the companies that contract them for production
“The uniforms have a laundry list of issues”
😂
I see (through) what you did there.
“Someone else did our homework, we just signed our name on it. You can’t give us a failing grade for that!”
Rubin, you are not the victim haha
At 2:18, are my eyes deceiving me or is Gamboa's name lopsided? The numbers don't indicate any sort of bunched up fabric that could create this illusion, but it just doesn't look right.
Hello, I’m a professional seamstress and I’m actually tailoring stuff while watching this video your point about why people are upset about the end of the sleeves it looks less clean the tubing looks unfinished I’m unsure if that makes sense but it just it’s a raw edge and it doesn’t look good. It also doesn’t align with baseball traditions..
Hell, if you need a seamstress to consult while making these videos, I am more than happy to give you information :)
(Just kidding, lol) I am absolutely loving these videos Brodie, they are becoming "must watch" for me, keep up the good work
This reminds me of that time George Costanza changed the Yankees uniforms.
Fanatics to Boeing: ‘Ok, if you want use to use scotch tape instead of proper torqued fasteners….”. How many MLB people are needed to avoid this debacle? Don’t know - none were used.
I would like to know if MLB actually did a survey across all teams and not just a all star game sample size? Thinking MLB rushed to judgement.
You think they actually care? This is about making more money, nothing else. Wake up.
I feel bad for people who are vision impared and now cannot enjoy the feel of their teams logo and players name and number.
Fanatics bought them on Temu
Keep up the good work! Keep grinding Brodie.
Previous years On-Field Authentic jersey ~$240 for a high quality jersey. This year’s On-Field Authentic “Elite” or whatever they are calling it $399.
Fans need to send a message with their wallet. Don’t buy shitty products.
Rubin is a celebrity-obsessed weirdo who would never, ever prioritize the common sports fan. Horrible businessman.
When you say "piping" on the sleeve, do you mean "cuff" and or "hem"? I do not see piping.
What a mess
Going from quality to Temu/Shein quality
and then they will cry when we go to Temu/Shein for their pricing.
Looks like Manfreds doing. He’s the commissioner, he has something to do with this blunder! As well as another blunder currently going on…
1:29 not quite sure about that…they were a number of teams with cuffed elastic sleeves. Others had piping, again others had just the soutache over the seam of the sleeve.
9:17 what was the material used before the change of jerseys?
Makes me appreciate my 05 WS Astros jersey even more. An OG majestic jersey with actual patchwork.
Brodie, your video get better and better. Love all the content. Keep up the awesome work
IMO it looks like they have cut corners to keep the cost down. The new uniforms look cheap.
Was Michael Rubin in the room with you?
I think a big issue is that they have cheapened the jerseys, but are still charging the premium price.
This CEO dude doesn't look like a bro at all. Totally trustworthy and dedicated to quality.
Fanatics should be getting a lot more quality for the 31 cents per hour they’re paying labor in Malaysia.
Fanatics has had issues way before mlb deal. But this makes it easy to point to them as the problem.
Shits hilarious. Will never buy another jersey until we go back to high quality.
If Fanatics had a better reputation they wouldn't be getting rakef over the coals. But everything they touch has an immediate dip in quality
Eh you're giving Rubin too much credit
This is what happens when you go to a NIKE product it becomes garbage. Baseball needs Majestic and New Era.
I have a hard time giving Rubin credit. Fanatics has been pumping out garbage.
Good morning y’all
Fanatics is just trying to look like the victim in all of this.
----------------------------------------
From the stands, you can't see the raindow nameplate because of it being smaller. I don't mind the rainbow arch of the name if it's a name like "Saltalamachia", "Lombardozzi", "Crow-Armstrong", or "Encarnocion-Strand".
But you can't see names like "Burnes", "Machado", "Ortiz", "Gausman", etc
----------------------------------------
The MLB logo should be above the piping, not below. It looks more cluttered by doing that.
----------------------------------------
Look, MLB, Nike, & Fanatics has the stuff to make a delicious cake, but what we got was a burnt cake that also expanded too much.
Fanatics’ comment reminds me of the Stonehenge monument scene in This Is Spinal Tap.
What’s crazy is how much they are charging for these jerseys. Almost $180 for something that cheap looking is ridiculous.
The see-through pants, and the overall lack of quality is completely on fanatics. He didn’t give them the specs and say make this out of garbage
Remember when Nike first started producing nba jerseys? They were tearing left and right. Nike has a track record of doing this
Fanatics ruins everything they touch.
Can’t wait for that one 😎
you might be surprised
The people getting screwed are the fans. They raised prices and lowered the hell out of quality.
Fanatics and Nike should know that fans are the ones who make them money. Fans like quality jerseys, not cheap looking jerseys.
If these new cheaper on field jerseys were significantly cheaper this would make sense.
Classic example of if it isn’t broken don’t fix it.
It's disappointing that NIKE would biff these designs so hard. I imagine the overall design lays at the feet of Nike since they are the design house.
MLB can not be exonerated either considering they requested the batterman logo to be moved down and the name/number sizing to be standardized.
They took the cheap route. It's obvious. Anybody that doesn't see that is delusional. He deserves every bit of criticism that he is receiving.
