- Jump on Specialized's new Chisel FS with me for some Blair Witch Project action as I ride over 100km into the Yorkshire Dales from dusk til dawn for a summer solstice epic. Hopefully it'll inspire some of you to try something similar yourselves, because they really are fantastic fun.

Hi. You made very nice videos in term of resolution and color. What do you use for recording? And you spend a lot of time in post production?
Ey up guy, brilliant video that pal really enjoyed it,
Was that little viewing castle thing on the small lake in between thruscross and fewston res?
Yes it was mate, good spot. The one with the little porthole and the ‘drawbridge’ up to it 👍🏻
@@GuyKesTV thanks mate 👍
This vs stumpjumper?
Great video, recognised most of that route, but couldn't work out the bit after Thrusscross dam wall in the background, sent a Strava request 🙂
Righto boss, I’ll check Strava now
A epic challenge as usual. 👍
It really captured the essence of my bb 😂
I was hoping the microphone wasnt so sensitive!
You could pick that creak up on a seismograph. In Japan 🤣
That's the Nidd viaduct at the start! I used to collect my firewood in that wee patch to your left and lug it on my bike trailer back to Bilton. Rode all over the Dales (especially Wharfedale in my Embsay days), on and off road. Cheers, from Hobart!
haha, fantastic. How does the riding in Hobart compare?
@@GuyKesTV Many differences in Tasmania over the UK. Private land and trespass mainly, along with a paucity of RoW infrastructure can make things tricky. Add in a densely forested hinterland and separation of hiking and biking on tracks and trails. But when it's good, it's very good but mainly on the trail centres.
Road cycling is markedly less amenable - route options A to B are often just one and the drivers less happy to share. Mark it down to culture wars.
Yes! Hoping you would do another video! Been doing a solstice ride ever since your first Sutton bank one! Just on my own as my mates aren’t cool enough to join in!😂
I remember you getting in touch after that one. Love that you’re still doing it. Whereabouts did you ride this time.
@@GuyKesTV I’m pretty boring, did the Whitby loop, nice and familiar for solo mission!
@@ogshadow113 familiar works best for sure and it’s not boring because everything takes on a different perspective anyway
This looks like an amazing route!
Would you be able to share the route ?
are you on strava?
I am yes 👍🏻
@@djc226 follow me on Artful Codger 👍🏻
Thank you Guy, sent you a request 👍🏻
This there a way to see the route you did, perhaps a Strava profile?
I’m on Strava at Artful Codger 👍🏻
@@GuyKesTV Thank you, I just sent the invitation.
Bloody L, what a ride!!!. I did a fair part of this today. In daylight. On a EMTB. And not as far and I'm knackered ha ha.
What a brilliant ride .
I went past Goldstone cut so not sure which way u went. I cheated and went down peat lane.......brilliant rd decsent 😂
@@marktownend3782 there’s a cheeky shortcut across to the top of Guisecliffe just before the steep descent of Peat Lane, starts as bridleway then footpath after. That’s the grassy bit and then the moorland singletrack bit at dawn in the video. Theres a pretty high dry stone wall you’d need to get your eeb over though
@GuyKesTV cheers Guy ill have a look out 4 that
Great video Guy, glad you didn't stop at stonehenge to see them fools desecrate it, that made me very untypically angry and i imagine it did to you too, being such a passionate historian as you are, i don't think they'll get people on side doing that
Don't get me started. I'm hoping the old spirits are going to be having some fun delivering some karma to those idiots
Elmo Putney ,the barman in 80s sitcom Brush Strokes used to say "Oh Chisel !"
Now that is trivia quiz gold. Thank you
