    Kristina - I have to tell you I had bought about 8 of the oxides and I wasn't really going to buy any more but watching you do this has just fascinated me and I have gone out and bought some more because I have had to try some of these to make backgrounds for some of my cards - they are just awesome - thank-you so much!!!

    Love all of them, the Chipped sapphire with the tea, and vintage photo is awesome. I think that would be great for a Masculine card. Thanks for the ideas.

    Thank you for this series. I have been considering the oxides for awhile. This series made it easy to pick several colors that will work well together on the occasions that I need inks without buying every single one of them. The blending with them is amazing. This is a greatly informative series. :)

    HOORAY, KRISTINA!! Said it before~~saying it again~~~I AM LOVING THIS SERIES!! Number 5, today’s session, is AMAZING & FULL OF SURPRISES! It was totally awesome to see these trios come together in such UNIQUE n’ WONDERFUL creations! I especially LOVED the last one, a “real rainbow” progression w/the “extras” because of the way the inks blended! So soft n’ pretty, too! My 2nd fave was with the “tea, vintage photo, n’ blue” (don’t remember the exact color names! OOPS) but the combination was so soothing n’ serene for me! Overall, just enjoying the “emotions” these blending videos tap for me! TFS n’ HAPPY BLENDING!! :-))

    Really great series, Kristina! I also love that Chipped Sapphire/Vintage Photo/Tea Dye combo. Never would have thought to pair a blue with browns, which is basically a very dulled orange and therefore blue's complement. Interesting...! I was wondering, if you are doing more with this series, if you could have some real-time blending, to show when the circular motion is better and when the side-to-side motion is preferable. I tend to have "issues" with blending the Oxides, that I think are related to their opacity. The colors tend to cover more than blend. I try going back & forth between colors like you have shown, but it still can be rather difficult. I just am curious if there are signs when side-to-side might be preferred to circular. Anyway, just a thought. Thank you for all you do, and have a great day! :)

    As others have said, this is a fabulous series! My question is what color combos have been failures? Clearly you're showing us success stories...but what about those combos that ended up the in the trash? Would love to see what didn't work...occasionally!

    I'm trying some of these combos & its taking quite a bit of time to blend them together. Can you show a real time video please? I also noticed that the videos show a grain or static b/c of the speeding up. Didn't know if you knew that, so thought I'd mention it. Thanks!

    These are beautiful blends. What is your last step after the final ink sweep? Is it an empty foam circle or is it a damp one? Or a coloured one?

      I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. I use a different foam tool for each color.

    I'm loving this series. Thank you! I'm so torn between which inks to get for blending and stamping. I started purchasing the distress inks but I'm really liking the way the oxides blend - which is why I got the distress inks to begin with. As far as stamping, I'm lost. I don't have room for several different kinds so I've got to do some serious thinking. Any suggestions?

    • @kwernerdesign
      @kwernerdesign  5 років тому

      If you want an ink for blending AND stamping, go with the Oxides. The original Distress inks bead up on stamps and don't give a solid stamped impression. The Oxide inks coat the stamp and give a better result.

    A little off subject, but I did what you did and added water to blend. The paper curled as it dried. What did I ydo wrong. I did try running them thru my Spellbinder, bit it wasn’t great. Any help would be appreciated.

    • @kwernerdesign
      @kwernerdesign  5 років тому +1

      To do blending like I show in this video, no water is necessary. The Distress Oxide inks are creamy enough to blend without adding water. If you do add water, you'll likely need to use watercolor paper instead since it's meant to absorb moisture. And you'll also want to tape down the watercolor paper so that it dries flat. But to get nice blends like this, do you not need water.
