@@Donny_Double_Dip I didn’t play college hockey just visited when touring school I ended up at the University of Miami in Florida so really missing college hockey
Yo Grinell, I come from a PSU family. Really cool to see you feature these guys and this team so early on. I'm out in Pittsburgh, but this makes me want to make a trip for a game. These students are treated like kings here. Seems like a good team culture too.
Grinnell.. just want to thank you for what you're doing with this series. Amazing insight into a part of the hockey world that's not talked about enough.
@@EPiche09 You realize there’s more than just hockey at Penn State right? Like world class wrestling & volleyball teams & the football experience is something only a few teams can match….. Also going to college parties when you’re 17-18 & still in HS is something you can’t even describe you gotta experience for yourself
I did a private tour of Notre Dame facility a few years ago. State of the art. The team has computerized shooting lanes to practice off ice shooting and they have to scan a credit card to shoot and it tracks each players status.
Fr. Played my championship game at Keybank last year and got the whole tour. It was unbelievably dirty and super underwhelming compared to the other nhl arenas I’ve been to
@@Drew2ub you are correct sir. Because it is at a State school the Pegula family did have some incentives to build the stadium. The University also uses the stadium for the students too. There are open ice times for them to skate. That was my first date with my fiancé 😬. I was there when it was first built and the team was promoted into the big10 from a “club sport”. Big time $$ team with a bunch of NHL prospects.
I wish local rinks would have a batting cage type facility with that shooting and passing trainer. Pay for an hour and have an auto passing machine to work on your shot vs having to wait for them to have a stick and puck at 10am every day when youre at work lol
I think the reason college hockey really doesn't work in western pa is because the penguins have a youth development programs from age 6 to college. Seeing more college hockey arenas like this in pittsburgh would be cool, but for now Penn State and RMU are the only varsity hockey programs in SouthWestern PA.
I give penn state a lot of grief but this is nice. Still gotta come to the Ralph, that’s actually the big time. And as much as I hate them as a nodak fan you gotta check out Minnesota too. Two programs that pour millions in each year to their hockey teams
Imagine being a kid at this school and then going to AHL and ECHL and you're like "Where's the Nutritionist?" "Where do I go to get my personal smoothie" Crazy
The seating here is better than Maddison square garden the seating when i goto rangers/ knicks games i alsways have a head right in front of me. That vertical seating is the way to go.
I feel like some of these schools in the USA have better arenas and training facilities and all that xD I could be wrong but i feel the younger teams in the USA should be so much better than anywhere else in the world "maybe they are i am not sure" having all this and being a kid and getting all the help is just insane, I quit hockey before highschool so i never went to a hockey school but the ones i have seen here in sweden are way behind on what they have in the schools for the players
This series is pure amazing. Dont stop please.
They even busted out the Thor hammer. That’s legendary
I love how prideful and enthusiastic Christian was in this! Please pop out to Merrimack sometime Mike!
That barn is so beautiful. Catching a game there was the highlight of touring colleges my senior year of high school
But you never play in it. How many times can you watch game live? How much charge ticket make money back?
Where’d you end up playing?

Need to do a tour on the Ralph engelstad. Nothing else in college hockey compares

Crazy how far they've come since the ACHA days. Even then they were still top notch and it was great to play against them.
And it’s all thanks to a plastic Thor hammer
One of the biggest things I’m grateful for is growing up 30 minutes from State College its lead to so many great memories & friendships
They've been around for lime 5 years.

great series ! please keep making more of these.
Its insane to see such a nice facility and then you see north dakota's and you're like wtf this is another level😭
Nice way to wake up with some Chiclets content!! Keep killing it G!

Legendary Penn State Hockey. Beautiful.
They only go D1 few years ago
If only Pegula would spend this money on an updated Buffalo Sabres Arena
He get a tax write off for this would be my guess.

@@Chiwiwiis Definitely needs a facelift

Perennial losers!
Great series going to the different schools. It be neat to see a OHL or any Canadian JR teams facility
lol major Junior rinks
Do a university of Alberta locker room review. It will be a shocking comparison.
very well spoken young pup
This is pretty awesome! College hockey is a tough business with Hockey East around. Hard to compete with college hockey in Boston

Go to UMD! Back to back D1 champs! 2018 & 2019 🏆 🏆
Wonder how many weight rooms Penn State and all other D1 schools have. Some of these facilities are super amazing!
He's the ultimate hockey dude bro 😂. As long as he doesn't get caught up in a scandal then the sky is the limit 📈
Still think NoDak takes the crown. Hope those facilities get shown at some point

I’ve been back there before, I play hockey there. It was super nice!
Legitimately a sign about not taking facility for granted and Mike has loser do a cannonball in their expensive cold tub
Great content. Nice facility. You gotta get up to NODAK.
Banger as always G!
Lets go i love this series
I think these teams should have Grinnell out there on the ice with them for a practice during these tours.
Penn State baby!!!
Couple clicks for G out here grinding!!!
Great ep, G!
this kid is great on camera
Great college barn.
id like to see featured in these all the nhl players that come from the university/college

After seeing a few of these, why would anyone play in the CHL ? These are world class installations plus you get a degree.
Better chance to go pro in chl. way more Europeans & higher skill level
Amazing Grinell
Great job G!
Go to the Kohl Center next! Unreal barn; history; staff!
After seeing North Dakota’s (or whatever Dakota school that was) facilities none of these schools matchup
INSANE FACILITY ❤
Can anyone expect Grinelli do these please...
Im still shocked by how amazing the facilities are at universities in the US. They're way better than professional sports teams facilities in the UK
The favorite word for almost all high level hockey players is "obviously". LOL!!!
What a great place to recover after all those L’s. Go green!
Did Grinnell every play hockey? some of those shots on the rapid shot were questionable if so
These are amazing.
You have to go to Minnesota pls pls pls
Use this as a “we want Grinell at the Ralph” button
