  • I'm well on the journey taking this Civic Type R back to factory fresh. Next up is removing the aftermarket front bumper intakes which while a nice mod, I prefer the fog lights. I've got not idea what lies beneath, let's see...

    nice one for the tutorial about how to get the bumper off mate, I'm actually doing the reverse of what your doing and adding air scoops to mine for CPL induction kit. The fogs in mine were horribly burned inside, ended up VHT nightshade spraying them.

      I think I'm dong the opposite of everyone else haha. Only dodgy part is pulling the arch trim pieces off without damaging the paint. Other than that it straightforward. I bet the CPL will sound immense 😎

      @@GeesDrive Yeah probably so mate, but it depends what you want from the car i suppose. I want to get it remapped for more midrange at the end of the year so cold air intake, manifold and exhaust is a must imo. Definitely NOT the only milano FN2 owner to think its had a respray either mate ;P. Oh yeah the CPL will definitely help induction and sound although mate, if you want a slight increase in hp and a tiny bit more noise without having to break the bank and still have it looking completely stock i highly recommend that you do the airbox mod (remove the airbox, Dremel the baffles out smooth with some wet and dry and drop in a k&n) made a slight yet noticeable difference to mine and cost about bugger all.

      @@DeAtHaToMiC88 I've seen this done on the forums, might be interesting to see a before and after on the airbox. The paint is shocking to be honest, I would love in the future to do a full high quality respray, it deserves it imo. Good luck with the mods mate 👍

      @@mrlionrocks I had an EP2 back in the day and loved it, never had an EP3 though. I think these are an end of an era so well worth saving 👍

    FWIW, mine came with an invoice stating that the driver's door and front wing were repainted when the car was 14 months old as a result of "paint changing colour due to solar lighting" which is, I assume, somebody's way of saying the paint suffered UV damage or wasn't completely UV stable.
    The evidence of overspray on yours MIGHT indicate the car had a similar issue at some point, rather than suggesting accident damage was repaired.

      Thanks @SiCrewe that's good to know. Was that a UK car is elsewhere? I know it's well documented that the Honda paint on the FN2 is thin and suffers laquer peel etc. I suspect on my car in particular, it's had a few panels resprayed and not due to accident damage. Thanks for the insight 🙂

    Your video help me so much, am in the process of buying a 2011 honda civic type s , it doesn't come with the fog lights like yours but I was wondering if the wire loom was there but your video answer my question.

    • @GeesDrive
      @GeesDrive  Рік тому

      Glad it helped! One thing to note as mine is a Type R GT that came with fogs from the factory so I can't guarantee yours came with the same loom with fog connections. Worth checking on the forums or just popping off your bumper to take a quick look. It's a super easy job. Good luck 👍

    hi, i have a fog light to change, i have seen one video where you can get the fog light out without removing the bumper, you just need a socket with an extension and there is a hole in the underside of the from wing, simples!! but my question is, when you peeled off the trim around the wheel arch, where did you get the clip that holds the trim on, mine is broke in that exact area, a previous owner has had an attempt at glueing it back on to no avail, so its on my fix list, that little bracket thing you used would work perfect for me, i am also on the same journey as you, bought an 09 plate, good overall condition, but ive replaced a wingmirror, fog lamp, led's in the mirrors, i have brembo disks and pads in the pipeline, along with some paint correction and wheels being refurbed, then its really going to look amazing

      I usually get most of my genuine Honda parts from Cox Motor Part online. Worth giving them a look. To change the bulbs at least on the FN2, according to the workshop manual the left side (RHD) can be changed easily by pulling back the trim as you said but the right side needs fully removing for some reason, perhaps something is in the way.
      Great to hear another FN2 on the road to a refresh as there are quite a few bad ones out there. Good luck with your FN2 journey 👍

      @@GeesDrive yeah, in the info I watched, drivers side you just need an extension and 10mm socket, but passengers side as air box in the way, luckily, I only need to change the drivers side
