    Welcome back shuttlers! Hope you're having a great week so far! I am thinking of posting more by repurposing short videos of the techniques without so much explanation on alternate weeks. I heard a lot of feedback about those that want less talking so I was thinking of doing both types of videos. What do you think?

    Try this for consistency. Play a training match under the sole condition: you don't attack or play any risky shot (deceptions and so on) until you make 5/10/20 strokes in a rally.

    1.Point of reference
    2. Visualization
    3. Setting targets
    And this, ladies and gentlemen, is advanced badminton... The mind game. The footwork and hitting can only get you so far. Badminton is really so much more. Thank you Coach Gerald for the awesome content. This is one of the real pieces of advice that can take a willing and devoted player to the next level.

    Correct “Technique” is a must for consistency. Another tip from my experience is to practice the same stroke in 2 situations as follows.
    A) When you are “in pressure”, practice the stroke to be a lot more safer.
    B) When you are behind the shuttle in a good position, practice sharp strokes and occasionally mix it up with safe ones.
    Consistency goes down, when you attempt to play very sharp strokes, from out of positions/ pressured positions. Hope this helps.

    I've been trying to find a video on this and find out why some players like Momota are so consistent while mosr players have peaks and dips in their performance it's always been a mystery to me thank you for addressing it!

    I find it the hard to maintain the game consistency. Sometimes have the good form and most often than not, bad form. Perhaps it is like what you mentioned in the video, need to have a goal to focus. For me i usually play my best when I have the strong urge to play and venting out all the frustration accumulated from work, haha!

      I totally know how you feel! But sometimes when you're overly stressed from work and you start thinking about work during your game, then bye-bye liao hahaha. Thanks for coming back to comment!

    I'm a front court net player. I focus very much on consistency and accuracy and fast reflex. Too fat to run. No power too. A proper warm up stroke is crucial for me; that's when my muscle memory starts to "record" before the session starts. Where the person serve/stand, I would ensure the shuttle returns to where he is without having him to move any tiny steps (Point of reference as mentioned). For me, doing backhand crossnet drop at the back requires a lot of visualisation and accuracy. Or else you gonna hit out or deliver too high resulting getting tapped.

    Buddy , your videos are awesome but the sound mixing is not optimal. Your voice kinda blends with the bg music. Try lowering music and raising your audio recording, since that’s what we want to hear! =D

    Hi, good points to improve consistency, I want to ask you about the point that you mentioned most of us do the same, try to speed up and make over head shots and improve our techniques playing the matches and not really wasting time try to figure out the back hand and backhand power, but you said that you worked out it later on and because of some wrong methods to balance backhand, it's very hard to get to backhand shot as normal backhand clears as others does, how did you worked on to backhand clear after several years? is there any hacks worked out for you?

    How do you find the court control FF as compared to the other shoes you have tried?

    • @Bgbadminton
      @Bgbadminton  4 роки тому +2

      I feels a little on the heavy side but the cushion is solid. Feel durable too! Looks super pretty on top of that! But it's $200 bucks and I'm a cheapo that buys $50 shoes with a separate $5-$10 heel cup to save cost. But that's just me hahaha

    • @limbryan2385
      @limbryan2385 4 роки тому

      Yes love the design and colour. Very unique. Heard a lot of good things of the court control ff. As I am on the heavier side, definitely will need a comfortable and stability shoe to support my knees, so cant really use $50 shoes like before.
      yes $200 is pretty steep but I see a couple of older colours on discount. Will try them out.

    Hi Gerald, would you recommend the Asics FF true to size or half size up ? I heard asics sometimes likes to make their sizing smaller on some of their models

    • @Bgbadminton
      @Bgbadminton  4 роки тому +1

      Well I don't think I'm the best person to judge as I only have 1 pair of Asics shoes. But this fits me perfectly fine. Has the same sizing as my Yonex shoe. I'd recommend heading down to the Asics store to give the shoes a try.
