Thank you for reacting to Sissel. She is the Norwegian national treasure. Hope you will react to Sissel performing "Pie Jesu" from the same concert. It's an amazing performance with some very high notes.

Did you say that you never heard about this song...??? How come is that possible...??? One of the best known folk rock (and more) group in USA ever, Simon & Garfunkel, released in 1970 this song called Bridge over troubled water which became one of their most iconic songs. That song topped the charts in ten countries and they received two Grammy Awards for it.

"a beautiful song that I've never really heard in my life..." Really?? Bridge is a big song from the 20th century. Still popular.
Sissel in many of her duets sings second partner... she's gloriously humble in these performances. This is from a Sissel concert (All Good Things... I think). Russell is on as guest so can power on where Sissel has the rest of it yet to do so must conserve.

@@dchall8 I posted link to video for you, but YT delete/block that.
Google f.ex. Sissel interview Skavland ....and at(0:28 ) the name Kyrkebø is pronounced. Generally google Sissel interview. But if it is not Norwegian they don't know to say it correct.

@@Dan-fo9dk Thanks. From that I get SHER-shuh-buh. And you say that's not even close??? What am I not hearing?

@@dchall8 Haha...nope..... ....each and every of those three sections of the word is wrong...... at no point are there any s or sh sound for example.....
I don't know what is your native language, but if that is English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese you are doomed to be wrong. But if your language is -for example - Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Arabic or any Slavic language and lots of others ....they will likely be close to correct, even if those languages are much further away, technically/linguistically, than for example English.
      I get some associations here.
English speakers seem totally incapable to say anything of a word or name in any other language correct. They even change the name of almost any place in the world for some odd reason ....even name of historic persons. Why must Wien be changed to Vienna, Beograd to Belgrad, Venezia to Venice, Firenze to Florence, Napoli to Naples, Sverige to Sweden, Norge to Norway .....and so on. Also when the name of some place is spelled the same way ....and short and easy.....like Oslo ,the capital of Norway. ....or Bergen ....the home city for Sissel.....nope....they can not pronounce it .....result will be ....wrong ...wrong .....and wrong..... It is rather annoying....
Sorry I couldn't help you on that subject.
