- The Two Medicine area has some of the best trails in Glacier National Park. It's in a remote corner of the park that deserves to be explored. This video by Travel writing and photographer Steve Salis shows you all this area has to offer.
Worked in the park for two seasons and Two Medicine feels like a second home. The Dawson-Pitamakan Pass Loop is a must.
Lucky you! I assume you go to Dawson First. correct? 2 days or 1? Sounds like campground seems like a lot of extra up and down.
Thank You for a great video!
Thanks for the kind words.
We stayed 3 days camping in Two Medicine back in 2014. I really didn't feel the oark was overcrowded back then, compared to now. I agree that this is a great place to spend time to escape the crowds. The only thing I didn't like was that numerous amounts of black flies, but that's the life when camping.
3 Great! passes....
Dawson, Pitamakan, and Two Medicine
all great hikes. done them all multiple times.
Scenic point was a late May (scramble above the snow near the end) destination every year for a decade
True
Two Medicine Lake is not ticketed entry. I was there on 6/21/23. Also, you cannot launch your own kayak or SUP there this year. NPS carried forward the restriction from last year.
Good to know about the kayaks. I didn’t know they were restricted there even after inspection. I’ll add that to next yrs update. On the east side res tickets were not required until july 1.
Two medicine area does in fact require ticketed entry. However it doesn't start until July 1st.
Have passes for two days this coming Year, 4th time and yet never made it here. Can't wait to see which pass I do.
I'd go for Swift Current- watch my 2hr Glacier the Hiker's national park to see the trails. or my 50 hikes in Glacier
@@TheWestisBig yea, I love many glacier area. swift current is awesome as well as the tunnel and Grendel
How long did it take you to hike to Scenic Point?
maybe 3.5 hrs- but I ran down much of it. took time and photos going up
The fee for videoing in national parks needs to be taken to the Supreme Court!
it’s been to the court of appeals. hopefully the NPS will just change the reg
One way to avoid the traffic is to go there by train or plane. Going again this summer by train. No need to haul a house up there. ( So not environmentally friendly 🙁). Pack light and camp out or stay in the hotels. Shuttles take you everywhere you need to go. Enjoy nature and don't destroy the environment - leave the RV at home, please!
That's not no name Lake in your picture, that's old man Lake.
oops thanks
Is anyone really worried or taking seriously the social media thing?
I plan to go again and will post to my hearts content.
The only issue is with my comment here I can't say I didn't know
Some youtubers have been fined $1000 and banned from National Parks!
Could you share your sources for this
First watch my 9min ish video that covers the Reg, then google couple fined $1000 for filming in national park to find this link and many more ua-cam.com/video/lEUHr4U9MgA/v-deo.html
others have made videos like mine explaining the Law- one by a lawyer.
I suppose I could also show you the emails from the Glacier Permit guy but I told him I wouldn't share them.
@@TheWestisBig thanks so much, wow, so I don't at all doubt the law, I just don't see how they can reasonably expect to catch me and fine me in Florida. Those that do business, I guess that soiunds like another story.
I wait to see how this plays out.
The danger is selective enforcement. If some one turns you in - they have to investigate. otherwise they likely won’t. But they can get you. We need to raise awareness in the mainstream media to rescind this unjust, un-fully enforceable government overreach.
