What is lacking in Enugu is skyscrapers to change its skyline. This is sad because the city has been a capital city of one type or another since its was founded. So the area now called smart city must be designated skyscraper zone and only buildings 15 storey and above should be permitted. Just look at the skyline Juba, the capital of South Sudan which was started recently and see that it can be done. Skyscrapers are meant to save land space. Some people complain about scarcity of land. But available spaces throughout Iboland is increasingly being used up by sprawling bungalows where a few high rise building will accommodate a lot of businesses and homes. Enugu is a coal mining area, for the fact that there's no backfilling of the underground holes made during coal mining; it's not possible to build heavy buildings, but more of light skyline can be constructed though pillars constitutes the heavy parts of a building which skylines(skyscrapers) are more of.
