I’ve gone on over 200 flights and this saved me .
Consider buying noise cancelling headphones. The whole concept of flying is transformed when one travels from one destination to another without hearing the background noise of the aircraft engines.
really it us just 45 degrees below straight up ! If Up is 180degr, subract 45 degr , and you get 135 degr ! But since airline seats are only about a 26 degr pitch , you need 45 degr , you might consider write comments and request more pitch .
Do NOT spray scents on anything unless you want to trigger asthma on others on the plane and hear them hacking and wheezing. Very rude to wear scents when others will be forced to be close to you.
Once, a really nice lady let me take the whole middle row as she took my seat. I slept soundly and for over 8 hours on a 12 hour flight. That lady is a literal god. I hope she had an amazing vacation! 🥂
I've done many long-haul flights and always buckle up before I go to sleep for the reason mentioned here. It's also for my own safety, in case of problems where the attendants won't have time to check everyone. I generally put on my seatbelt but loosely so I can still move around in my sleep.
Add-A-Rest is an open air, contour pillow, sized just right and will attach to any carry-on. It won't take up any space, and the combination design is both a regular bed pillow, and a neck roll all in one! I love the under knee position for better seated nerve relief!!
TRUE# ACTUALLY I DON'T HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH MY BODY OR HEAD TO SLEEP***MY LEGS n FEET" SO UNCOMFORTABLE* THAT'S WHY I ALWAYS PUT MY HAND-CARRY UNDER" SO I CAN STRETCHED MY LEGS n FEET##👍👍👍
If you are in business class seat that can lie flat, you can sleep. For the rest of us sitting a small cramped upright seat, you are unlikely to get any decent sleep without chemical intervention. When I'm on on long haul flights there are plenty of times when my eyes are shut and it looks like im asleep, but there is no sleeping going on. The best advice is try not to sleep, stay awake for the whole flight, then arrive really tired so you sleep that night. I loved the line 'you trick your body into thinking you have slipped into bed' ........ and anyone who has ever tried to sleep in an economy seat on a 10hr plus flight laughed and laughed.
except when I got 3 seats across on my United airlines flight from LAX to Sydney. Slept a fair amount of time. That was 3 weeks ago. Lucky I took a squishy full size pillow
Travel pillows are certainly a good idea. However, if you're going to recommend them, perhaps you should also suggest using them properly and NOT as shown in your photo at 5:40. The opening in the pillow is SUPPOSED to go in the BACK!!!!!!! Placing the thickest part of the pillow UNDER YOUR CHIN so that your head tilts back will open your breathing airway to the max, increase the proper curve of the bones in your neck, and place the least amount of pressure on your shoulders and skull, thereby giving you the best chance at a restful and healthier sleep experience. 99.9% of people use these pillows incorrectly. Don't make the same mistake!!!!
DOCTORJAN714 yeah, I realised how much more uncomfortable it is with the pillow opening facing towards the chairs in front of me. I usually turn it around so I can lean my head one side, it makes my neck not hurt too. Cheers in telling everyone!
Now I travel business class - great relaxing lounges, plenty of room on flights & seats that tilt flat. I've worked hard & suffered coach/economy enough
@@michelanzolin6404 agreed. However most of my flights are from UK to Asia & Middle East (for both family & business) so it's business class. For shorter flights though I still like to make use of the lounges, which you can without having a business class ticket. You just pay to use the lounge
I carry a Ziploc bag with antiseptic wipes. Mine are medical grade because I'm a nurse and have access to them. As soon as I take my seat I wipe the seat arms, all the buttons and every surface on or near the seat tray table as well as all of the vents, buttons and controls on the area over my head.....the air flow nozzle & light. I also carry antiseptic hand wipes that I have added a little bit of antibacterial gel. I also swab the inside of my nostrils with a generic antibiotic ointment. I learned that one from an interventional cardiologist. The wipes go with me to the bathroom. And, I am a bit peculiar and will also have a Ziploc with a few light weight vinyl gloves for in the bathroom. Nobody's in there to laugh at me so I don't care. I usually get some curious looks as I wipe down my seat area. Most of the time when I shrug my shoulders and say I'm a nurse and I'm a little weird, Passengers sitting nearby will ask if I have an extra wipe that they can use.
I do the same thing on every flight. I don't care if people stare. It definitely reduces the chance of getting sick. And I carry several masks I use only if someone is constantly coughing around me.
@@GlobalAdventurer actually doing that much against getting into contact with bacteria might aswell raise the risk to become ill, because even your immune system needs training
@@ms5ooo171 I routinely do it on planes, and the times I haven't I got sick. But like you indicated, constantly avoiding bacteria does have the opposite effect on your immune system. But, airplanes and buses I'm very careful. Viruses are the main thing I try to avoid because antibiotics don't generally work on those.
This summer my family and I went to a 12 hour plane ride and we each got 3 seats empty next to each other so everyone just layed on their own 3 seats. That was the best flight ever.
I once flew from Chicago to Amman Jordan...there were probably 80 people on the entire plane...which means I moved into a section with 4 empty seats. Best sleep I ever had on a plane!!! 3 is good, though!
If you have a mid day flight and planning on sleeping, take wet wipes to wipe down the area were you would rest your head. ( only window seat) people have had the same idea as you.
Recommending using perfume in a plane is a bad idea. Perfume smells travel all over the plane and can be annoying, especially for those with allergies or asthma. I had to be moved to another seat once because of this "clever idea" triggered my asthma. So please skip the perfume.
Please, I ask you, do not spray perfumes and oils around the cabin. Some of us are allergic. I know, I used to think allergic people were weenies myself, until I became one of them. What if you put a few drops on a bandana and put that under your nose, instead? Thanks for understanding!
I do wish that parent give there young children a little something to help them calm down. On a recent flight from Calgary to London ,England that child was crying until one hour before landing. Nobody could get any rest so parents please a half a teaspoon of Benadryl does wonders for you, your child and the rest of the people. Common since.
Make sure to make a few pleasant comments to your neighbor at the beginning of the flight and learn a little about their travel. It helps me feel at ease with close proximity to others. Go to sleep as much as you can. When you land, follow up with what you talked about 14 hours earlier and wish them well. I know everyone's personal tale with that brief moment and, I feel at ease after landing as well. With international travel, I learn a bit of someone else's personal story in most cases. Mostly though, shut the f up during the actual flight.
This is great! I love it. Edit: I am 11 years old and in a month I am going on a nighttime flight to Thailand and I’m worried I won’t sleep. I hope this video helps me sleep! Thanks again for making this video.
Window seats and the middle seats are the one I avoid the most. Imagine in a 13 hours flight and you have a bladder to clear every now and then. For me it's the middle row aisle seat is the best.
Imagine how it feels when the entire plane is full except the 2 seats next to you, on a 15-hour flight 😉 The best part is when the connecting 5 hour flights is half empty 😍
Please leave the perfume at home. About 10-15% of the popukation can have violent reactions to fragrance. Consider the health of others so that you both have a pleasant flight.
I was super lucky in a recent 10 Hour flight. Due to bad weather alot of flights where cancelled that day, resulting in our plane being as good as empty. I believe there were at most 100 People on the Plane. We all had a whole middle row to sleep stretched out and well, could get more food and in general it was the calmest flight ever. It did feel a bit as if we were on a flight from the Movie Langoliers though after we took off. All those empty rows felt a bit unsettling.
I learned this from a flight attendant--take a scarf or pashmina, and tie your head to the headrest to keep your head from rolling forward and waking you up. Tie the tighter part over your forehead, and then pull a loose part of the scarf over your eyes instead of eye shades. Use a neck pillow too, and also an inflatable small pillow for your lower back. Take benedryl, Ambien, or other sleeping aids. Rest your feet on your backpack if there's no footrest.
Thank you for the tips. My family and I just got back from a 3 week European adventure. My kids slept fine on the flight to England, but your advice would have come in handy for myself and my husband. I will definitely stay tuned for more tips for our future trips! :)
Remember how offices often remind us that they are a fragrance-free office? That's because so many people are extremely sensitive to fragrances. They can't shop in the laundry products section, sniff for the fragrance-free products they must have or search for a mild, natural fragrance they could possibly tolerate. It's really not just in their heads! I know some of them. Some reactions can be: cough, sneeze, the throat can collapse shut causing air to barely get through. Some get terrible headaches or other maladies. Just wearing scented antiperspirant and a mildly scented cologne 2 rows away will cause the reaction. So please, use any suggestion but the fragrance one!
The seats infront of the lavatories are actually pretty good if you want to recline your seat really far out. You dont have to think abt annoying the person behind you because theres no one behind you. Theres usually a big space
A travel mask with pockets that carry flat speakers (used to play white noise) works so well on a plane that I use it at home when I can’t sleep. The smell idea works too but not this way. For 2 days before a long flight I use my travel wrap as a blanket. (It is actually just a huge microfiber shawl.) Then when I travel it has the smell of my clean bed allowing me to sleep. It works in the hotel too.
A good trick is to buy cheap sunglasses and wear them for a few weeks to get used to them. Next cover the lenses with black tape. Wear them when you want to sleep on the plane. They prevent light reaching the eyes and are more comfortable than the sleep shades across the nose. They cut out the light from peoples screens and those passengers that raise the blind. They also are easy to raise so you can see if you want to get up or look around if startled.
Glasses, being made of hard plastic, are much more uncomfortable than a mask. Most people sleep with their head on its side, that wouldn't work, glasses press into your face uncomfortably and could break. A mask is way better.
A better trick is to wear a hoodie, put on a sleep mask... then put on a beanie and pull it over the sleep mask, put in earplugs, then pull the hood of the hoodie over your beanie and tie the strings really tight to secure all that... seriously so comfy... you look like a nerd... but comfy
Also in place of a blanket if you want something to keep warm that doesn’t take up much room you can try a pashmina can be good. The size of a blanket but light weight they are good to use home holiday too.
I only manage brief naps and arrive feeling horrible. Keeps me from traveling more. I wish trains went from US to Europe--LOL. I can sleep fine on trains.
brainmatterz lol yeah i travel to Asia to U.S it's like non stope 24 hours and when i arrive it's still the day when I flew from Asia so i want to travel through Ships rather than planes.
Agent 47 maybe if u fly business class or first class it might help because a bit extra cash makes the seats a lot more comfortable I hope it helps u sleep better 😀😀👌🏻
My dad has that gift of falling asleep on a plane, and standing up, and in theaters, and he can fall asleep in just about anywhere, thank goodness he doesn’t snore.
My mother found a good way to fall asleep on planes. We went to America in 2015, and on the way back home, it was a 15 hour flight. So mum had a few motion sickness tablets, combined with some sort of alcohol, and was practically unconscious for over half the flight. If you're an adult insomniac, or an adult in general, I'd recommend you try this. And no, I haven't tried it myself, I'm only 14. I was 11 at the time. As much as I'd love to try it though. Lol

We have actually created a new product to help people sleep better on planes so they don't have to waste time sleeping once they get to their destination! It has built-in mittens and eyemask, and is great for long flights -- check out revpod.com if you're curious :)
As for electronics, it's always best to put them away, but if you must, you might install f.lux, it eliminates the blue light on your screen and so you don't have to worry about it waking you up (you can choose when to turn it on). For a better combo, put f.lux and also put it away a lot of time before sleeping, i. e. when you are eating. As for the seats, I'd recommend falling asleep just the way your seat is, and when you are super tired and midway on to it, lean back your seat. That way you'll feel sooo good that your seat reclines, instead of doing it when you're not sleepy and thinking "that's not gonna help". ;)
I’ll be flying in seat 7F i chose it because it’s further in front, not the first, second, but the third seat. Second would be good too. 7F was the only seat i slept in. Most of the people would prefer left side, but i like the right. Thanks for reading my essay.
The time for me is perfect! I am going right after the holidays on a Wednesday, not a night flight but still. This doesn’t really matter though, I can only fall asleep in a bed🤣🤣
The best way for me to fall asleep on the plane is a noise cancellation headphone. I fly from LAX to Taiwan and Malaysia a lot, and I always had a hard time falling asleep because of the engine sound. I invested a used bose headphone two years ago, and it was the best investment I ever had. I slept like a baby every single time because finally! a silent cabin!!
Aisle seat fan right here 🙋🏻♀️ the window seat is hard to get up and worse when the people next to you are sleeping and you need to go to the restroom.
Once I really had to go to the toilet, I passed through a guy beside me who was sleeping, utilising my small and flexible (and enough strength to hold some difficult positions 😂 - while trying to not touch him at all) body to the max. Btw I love window seat also because it really helps with motion sickness
For people who don't take meds and have a nice clean system, 1/2 of a benadryl will work wonders (about 12mg). Just enough to send you to lala land without the post grog.
@@rhondarose8180 Yeah one PM will do but generic benedryl costs about 4 times less and the added tylenol or advil in PM is unneeded medicine if I have no head or body aches.
Since I usually travel with my father, I usually just plug my earphones in and use his shoulder as a pillow. So, it's pretty easy to fall asleep (regardless of time)
I can’t sleep when I’m waiting for my food and drink to arrive. In any case, do this. 1. Buy a comfort seat for a bit more money. 2. Drink complementary wine. 3. Eat heavy carb meal to make you sleepy. 4. Wear ear plugs or noise canceling headphones. 5. Yes, wear slippers. 6. Wear comfy jacket and pants. 7. Put away glasses or contacts. 8. Brush your teeth. 9. Wash your face. 10. You should exhaust yourself with electronics. You can’t force yourself to sleep.
natural food supplement type of sleeping pill - on a 10 h flight , full 777 plane , children , noisy people the lot , went to sleeep 1 h after take off , got up just before landing - melatonin based pill. Does the job perfect.
I go to a different state every summer with my sister to go see our grandparents. A great tip is to plan out ahead of time. Like for example: my flight leaves at 11:00. I should think about how long it would take me to get through security and how long it takes to find my gate. Then after I consider all of that, I decide what time I should wake up. Easy.
Spraying essential oils or other scents is totally unfair for your fellow passengers, there might be an asthmatic which then suffers a severe or even life-threatening asthma attack!
Deborah Conkle lol.. trying to push back your seat for comfort doesn't always work if it's a small plane or if you've got long legs.. can evoke argument s. IMO
I was eating when this guy in front decided it’s sleep time. I had to tap him on his head “ hey mate I’m stuck, my tray is still down. Thankfully he was a nice guy and didn’t push back again. 36 hrs from my house to Bedford England. I walked around found some spare seats and moved to them. Crashed for hrs.
Useless "tricks" rehashed for 20+ years of travel articles on the same topic. I've been flying between Australia, Asia, Europe and North America for the last ten years, and can say with confidence that none of this will do anything if you're the type of person who can't sleep upright. (There's a reason beds aren't shaped like chairs.) The only time I've got more than a couple of hours sleep on a long haul (i.e. 8+ hour) flight is when I've used frequent flyer points to upgrade to business class and got a proper lay-flat bed.
P.S. Please don't spray/wear scents on board. More and more people are developing MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity), and you've selfishly just created a hellish environment for them. Just leave it till you arrive - after a few minutes you can't smell it on yourself, anyway. They'll have headaches, dizziness and nausea until they escape you.
Great tips. I'm flying from USA to Asia this weekend and this happened to pop up on my wall. Not overeating and being stress free are very importing. All the others are too.
I fall asleep as soon as the plane starts moving/rocking me to sleep... thank you... it is like seconds and we have arrived!! It is just too boring for me to stay awake, unless there is a good lookin' man beside me, I have fallen asleep on a shoulder or two that is very comfy... :)
Maybe traveling at night is better for getting sleep, but I’d rather travel in the day to avoid having that issue. It’s too bad the cheapest flights are always night time though.
Flight leaving the Hawaiian islands always seem to leave at 11 p.m. Then two ladies across the aisle turn on all their lights and gab the entire way home. Oh well...
Hydration is key to a comfortable long flight and helps you avoid that horrible dry plane feeling aswell as giving you the vest chance of sleep. Anytime you get offered a drink just get water. Because of this you are going to be running up and down to the bathroom and so the window seat is the worst possible seat. You want the centre row aisle seat. (I usually get G) this way the person sat next to you has the option of going left or right when they get out and so causing you minimal disruption when you choose to sleep. I live in Australia but regularly go back to England and iv found this to be the most comfortable. Also don’t sit down in between flights. Stretch the legs as much as you can get an eye mask and if possible some noise cancelling earphones
Probably shouldn't mention this but... I had like 15 minutes of sleep on an airplane from the airport in China to the airport here in the US (plus, I slept at 11 at night and woke up at 6 in the morning) 😐
My No.1 accessory is a memory foam seat cushion. How do both Boeing and Airbus manage to make seat squabs so hard and uncomfortable ? I am told it is to save weight - so I bring my own.
I am few of the lucky ones who are able to sleep during the flight. I always book the window seat, so I can rest my head to the wall. I also will immediately change my time zone to local time of my destination, so I can plan my sleep and to avoid jet lag. (it works all the time) try to bring extra pillow with you, so you can use the one from the airline to put your feet on. so you can have your legs straight throughout the flight. then slightly push your seat to the back. (it might not work for tall people who has no extra legroom) and if you are super lucky to fly on an empty flight ( I once did that, plane capacity :240 pax, pax on board :84), have the entire row for yourself! :D

Move your seat 💺 back as far as you can? The seat 💺 only move back like 1/2”
Dan Romcebo not with spirit airlines LOL
I agree lol
and it’s rude
Very rude to move the seat all the way back. Encroaching on the space of the poor soul behind you! Shame on this author.
‘So try to get the ideal angle of 135 degrees”
Brings out protractor
really it us just 45 degrees below straight up ! If Up is 180degr, subract 45 degr , and you get 135 degr ! But since airline seats are only about a 26 degr pitch , you need 45 degr , you might consider write comments and request more pitch .
I don’t think I’ve heard the word protractor in about 20 years.
@@blairaaa whhhhhhatttttttttttttttt ?!
@@blairaaa because you haven’t been at school
Do NOT spray scents on anything unless you want to trigger asthma on others on the plane and hear them hacking and wheezing. Very rude to wear scents when others will be forced to be close to you.
Elizabeth Langheim and people should keep in mind to wear deodorant... my dad never does, which is why I don’t sit next to him
Ha! Didn't think about that one.
Elizabeth Langheim you can use it just not much and do it before you get on the plane.
Elizabeth Langheim yep I have asthma and it is very annoying and is not a nice experience
Elizabeth Langheim you’re right. I hate perfume! Most of it is horribly offensive and triggers a bad reaction in me.
*Is going to a flight to somewhere in a few days*
UA-cam: Hey! let me recommend you this video.
proof that your phone listens to you :D
ikr but it also stalk you...but ayways it's handy so :3
- taesbsv - me too i’m leaving in 2 and this was in my recommended
If youve googled things about your flight recently google is probably catering these things to you
Ashley Fletcher lol i’m leaving in 2 too
nah it's not listening to u. It's watching u🤫
UA-cam literally recommended me this while waiting for my 9.30 pm flight
Once, a really nice lady let me take the whole middle row as she took my seat. I slept soundly and for over 8 hours on a 12 hour flight. That lady is a literal god. I hope she had an amazing vacation! 🥂
Smart flyers keep their seat belt on all the time. They just loosen it, then tighten it for takeoff, landing, and when it gets bumpy.
Blue Fluke can you check out my channel
I do that 😂 It’s just like “why take it off if I’m still gonna be seated”
I've done many long-haul flights and always buckle up before I go to sleep for the reason mentioned here. It's also for my own safety, in case of problems where the attendants won't have time to check everyone. I generally put on my seatbelt but loosely so I can still move around in my sleep.
What if you need to use the washroom?
@@dinahhaile2503 you un do it...
Add-A-Rest is an open air, contour pillow, sized just right and will attach to any carry-on. It won't take up any space, and the combination design is both a regular bed pillow, and a neck roll all in one! I love the under knee position for better seated nerve relief!!
I put my head on the table and fall asleep because that's me in school usually anyway :))
AreYouSerious? Omg love that
LOL SAME BUT WITH THE PILLOWS
Omg I always sleep like that on the plane 🤣
I'm too tall to do that, its really annoying sometimes..
AreYouSerious? You legit saved my life! I am going on a plane ride in a few days and you helped!!!! THANK U
I travel a lot and I never sleep on plane..for me is too uncomfortable...when I arrive to destination Im a total wreck! I envy those who can do it...!
It also happens to me
I'm scared to go on my plane in 7 days and I'm very scared is easyJet good because I'm going with them
Same here. 😣
Yeah. When possible I schedule flights so I land and end up at my destination at my regular dinner time. Have dinner, check in, shower and go to bed.
Thanks. I'm not a traveler, so I would have done it wrong.
That's amazing, thank you
DOCTORJAN714 yeah, I realised how much more uncomfortable it is with the pillow opening facing towards the chairs in front of me. I usually turn it around so I can lean my head one side, it makes my neck not hurt too. Cheers in telling everyone!
I love the ones that snap...it keeps it on so your chin doesn't bob forward- best sleep ever on planes!
So it can choke you
Now I travel business class - great relaxing lounges, plenty of room on flights & seats that tilt flat. I've worked hard & suffered coach/economy enough
Wish I could afford it
But to pay so much for just one flight isn’t worth it. Especially if it’s 1 to 3 hours long
@@michelanzolin6404 agreed.
Great tips.
Sounds like the best tips to follow
Here's hoping...
So please skip the perfume.
danovila
OK, Mort from Family Guy.
Was the seat without neighbors?
they didn't say perfum--they said essential oil---put on pillow before you leave homw....
I have asthma and i don't mind perfume lol. I wear it also myself
Please, I ask you, do not spray perfumes and oils around the cabin. Some of us are allergic. I know, I used to think allergic people were weenies myself, until I became one of them. What if you put a few drops on a bandana and put that under your nose, instead? Thanks for understanding!
emma ess ... I think they meant spray before you leave home, not actually in the plane. ... At least I hope so.
emma ess I agree
Get your sit to 135 degrees... push the button leans back 3 cm
Still breaking my knees
Ok, wheres my ruler? 😂
I know, you can't really call what modern airplane seats do "reclining", can you?
lol
Mostly though, shut the f up during the actual flight.
i'm traveling to the other side of the world in a few days and i am glad youtube recommended this to me today

Benadryl works also!
Evan J NyQuil gives me more energy, and I already have to much energy. 🤔
chulabird hmm, I’ll try that. Benadryl does make me sleepy.
I go the Gravol way, love it
The window seat is actually the coldest.
shorty_cake _ i like cold... and wearing warm or nit so warm stuff lol
try closing the window up LOL
shorty_cake _ and hard to go to the toilet if person next to you sleep
Sitting by an emergency exit is even colder.
Only if you have the window down LOL . I guess it would be colder - never thought about that . Thanks
This is great! I love it.
Edit: I am 11 years old and in a month I am going on a nighttime flight to Thailand and I’m worried I won’t sleep. I hope this video helps me sleep! Thanks again for making this video.
JustDanceWizard 99 good luck, however just don’t put the seat reclined if someone is behind you, or at least ask as it will affect them.
OfficeInTheSky thanks. I guess your dight
Window seats and the middle seats are the one I avoid the most. Imagine in a 13 hours flight and you have a bladder to clear every now and then. For me it's the middle row aisle seat is the best.
I so agree, always isle seat for me and middle row because they have the option to bug the other guy instead of you to get out👌👌😁😁🥰🥰
"Too cold" would have to be below freezing. It's best when you have a slightly colder room/ plane/ seat to be able to get good sleep.
Imagine how it feels when the entire plane is full except the 2 seats next to you, on a 15-hour flight 😉
The best part is when the connecting 5 hour flights is half empty 😍
I have a combination of things that make it easy for me to sleep on a plane:
I’m:
Small
Flexible
Social
Fall asleep easily
Love sleep
Fly often
Me too! :0
I also am a child, (11) so people are always careful not to wake me up, and I can lay on my moms lap so I get more space.
I love sleeping but hardly can fall asleep on a plane :/
Recline your seat as much as you can ?!
Wow you must never been on a plane ?!
I hardly consider them reclining seats !!!
write your flying company and request more pitch
A better trick is to wear a hoodie, put on a sleep mask... then put on a beanie and pull it over the sleep mask, put in earplugs, then pull the hood of the hoodie over your beanie and tie the strings really tight to secure all that... seriously so comfy... you look like a nerd... but comfy
Yeah, can't have that looking like a fool, so just stay uncomfortable. That way you'll still look cool, too whoever you must impress.
+Gabrielle Camp That sounds like you are trying to suffocate yourself but will try it. 😂
@@gabbycamp excellent idea!
Depending on the aircraft, the seats over the wings can be window exits seats which don’t recline at all.
*Tilt your seat back as far as it will go*
When people in front of me do that I get so annoyed cos you get no leg room!
Liv Baxter no face room.
Take the seat in the rear of the plane
The seats recline for a reason..to be Comfortable and on long flights to be able to sleep..
Also in place of a blanket if you want something to keep warm that doesn’t take up much room you can try a pashmina can be good. The size of a blanket but light weight they are good to use home holiday too.
A space blanket works best.
This is great when your traveling 1st class. Most seats don't lean back anymore

My dad has that gift of falling asleep on a plane, and standing up, and in theaters, and he can fall asleep in just about anywhere, thank goodness he doesn’t snore.
How about church? My dad had no trouble there..... lol
Deprive self of a day's sleep beforehand. Works every time.
Lol

Once I got two seats to myself I slept it felt amazing for those 20 hours without sleep
This is great advice for those traveling on first or business class.
That way you'll feel sooo good that your seat reclines, instead of doing it when you're not sleepy and thinking "that's not gonna help". ;)
Stanislav P. Perfect!
The suggestions are very good. I am a frequent traveler to the US and I have learnt a lot. Thank you.
Aisle seat definitely. But on the other hand, other people in the row wake YOU up climbing over you. I do windows on domestic flights.
More then half of these aren’t practical. You can rarely extend your seat. You should never spray an aerosol on a plane.
You wouldn’t be able to spray an aerosol as they are not allowed in hand luggage.
aerosols ARE allowed on planes in most countries...

For people who don't take meds and have a nice clean system, 1/2 of a benadryl will work wonders (about 12mg). Just enough to send you to lala land without the post grog.
Agreed, and I will definitely try that.
Heather Robinson a PM will do
@@rhondarose8180 Yeah one PM will do but generic benedryl costs about 4 times less and the added tylenol or advil in PM is unneeded medicine if I have no head or body aches.
Easy.
Everybody need this, thank you bright side!!!
Spraying essential oils or other scents is totally unfair for your fellow passengers, there might be an asthmatic which then suffers a severe or even life-threatening asthma attack!
Haha,so wait......tilt your seat as far back as possible, but don’t lay on the tray table so you don’t disturb the person in front of you???? 😂😂😂
Deborah Conkle
You are so right!!
Deborah Conkle ez
Jane, I haven't been on a single flight that wasn't overbooked in at least a couple of decades! These "empty seat" things are rarer than unicorns!
Oh well...
0MindSwept0 Morning is best time!
I'm re-thinking the window seat idea, due to recent events.
What happened?
Yes, absolutely. I used to go for that window seat all the time, nope! Not anymore!! Glad to know I’m not the only one who feels that way.
???
Can you at least tell us what happened ffs
What happened to you sitting near the Window
Best thing I ever bought for long flight was an ergonomic memory foam seat cushion
What brand?? I've tried two different ones and my tailbone still kills me after 2 hours (on two back to back 10 hour flights).
I like the idea of lavender on your pillow or your perfume. I’m gonna give that a try. I wanted those people that can never fall asleep on a plane
I hear that if ur flying a looooooooong way u should at least book 2 or 3 flights (depends on the distance) :3
I've just bought one for a long flight, John, plane seats in economy all become insufferable after about 3 hours!
I’m gonna fly easyJet next year to Rhodes!
I am an un accompanied minor on planes so I always gat the back seat and feel so special when I gat guided off by the staff
I usually sleep before the plane takes off😂😂😂 and wake up during meal/snack time..
I’m going to Switzerland after 3 hours and i will be flying in the middle of the night and on a Tuesday so I hope I’ll be able to fall asleep
Unnur Sólveig how was your flight? 😊
Exactly how was you flights
Overeating on a plane? What airlines are you flying? I fly first class and have yet to have that over stuffed feeling.
cadicorniche Bring your own snacks. Think, The airport gives you all the options, sandwich’s to Other Sugars
I am few of the lucky ones who are able to sleep during the flight.
I always book the window seat, so I can rest my head to the wall.
I also will immediately change my time zone to local time of my destination, so I can plan my sleep and to avoid jet lag. (it works all the time)
try to bring extra pillow with you, so you can use the one from the airline to put your feet on. so you can have your legs straight throughout the flight. then slightly push your seat to the back. (it might not work for tall people who has no extra legroom)
and if you are super lucky to fly on an empty flight ( I once did that, plane capacity :240 pax, pax on board :84), have the entire row for yourself! :D
I'm going on a trip to Albert in June and I can fall asleep easy where ever I am
Not anymore
