Thank you for this reaction, Roscoe! Always a pleasure to watch your directorly take on these videos. "The most ineffective shirt" lol! The first time I saw it I was imagining how weird it would feel to have your shirt end above your bra, but maybe it was just to get your attention. I love this mv, when I heard the title of the song is "Slow Dancing" I had an expectation of maybe scenes of a couple dancing under a moonlit sky and thought it would be so cliche. I should have trusted our Taehyung and the way his brain works differently. Love the song, love the images, love Tannie being omnipresent. Please react to Suchwita with V as guest - it's revelatory and hilarious in a heartwarming way.
Ah, I think I got it. There's a famous 1998 Japanese film named 'After Life' where a hotel staff are tasked with recreating favorite memories of the departed so they can bring a filmed copy of it along to the afterlife. V is recreating a facsimile in model form of a favorite memory, like in the movie.
Layover Master piece !!! some theories making a lot of sense: five stages of grief - Denial with #RainyDays, Anger with #Blue , Bargaining with #LoveMeAgain , Depression with #SlowDancing and Acceptance with #ForUs
All the videos are linked together to make the story. He puts up missing dog posters at end of last video which Leaves it open for maybe another song and video. Love Tae!!
I am so impressed by all the solo projects. They are all growing so much. It will be incredible when they get back together and make music with all their new wisdom.
I love when reactors like you theorize. My understanding becomes much richer. I agree about dream world/real life. Earlier someone compared it to the movie The Matrix.
Exactly my thoughts... I've belen un that feeling where you're having a great time and you'd love to share with a special someone. I couldn't give an interpretation to the lab and the glowie points (for instance hadn't notice Yeontan like you). OK. After your explanation of the lab, it makes perfect sense🎉🎉🎉
Wait😂😂😂, before I forget ... I got that reference Cap'n, "What's wrong with the dog?" "... either gone for good, or there to stay." The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)😂😂😂
I think (my guess - I'm a rocket scientist not a film expert) the key is the poloroid early on where everyone was Tae in the picture. To me, that argues a virtual world peopled entirely by Tae who adds bits as he goes from his environment. Making a world he wants.
My theory: Love Me Again - He says he's fine about break up but didn't mean it and wants her to love him again and to get dog back. Rainy Days - Present day. He's moved into new apartment post-break up and has dog. Slow Dancing - Created characters and dog from time when he was happy in previous apartment building and relationship started falling part. But, created those things while living hin Rainy Days apartment. Blue - Flashback to when relationship had fallen apart, had first moved to Rainy Days apartment and was trying to get dog back from old girlfriend still living in old apartment.

7:01 the polaroid picture turned out to be all Taehyungs instead of all who actually took the picture 8:45 the dog shaped cloud. whether it's real or photoshoped, I like it :)
Things that you probably did not notice when they were taking pictures on the bus the people in the picture are all V. so they all probably represent him or his personality, Another is there are seven on them I don't know if it represents BTS also, Yeontan is also in the clouds or there was a cloud that looks like a dog. when you see that V or heart in the water Yeontan was also reflected there in there.
Butterfly effect like the movie? he does talk about going back to that moment again in Rainy days change the moment? In the "real world" he is watched, followed, no privacy for romance etc so the model is his world how he would like it to be. Two people dancing.
Who is V missing so much? The constellation in the sky may be the clue. It looks a lot like a jackrabbit. What did the army use to call Jungkook during his youth: Bunny (because of his eyes and mouth). Well, Jungkook is all grown up now, and the constellation could symbolize a grown-up Jungkook. I also like the director's speculation of it possibly representing a pair of slow dancers, though today, slow dancers often do not touch each other, and in this constellation , if they are dancers, it could be argued they happen to be touching one another's hands. I cannot dismiss the dancers theory though, regardless of their genders.
I hadn't seen the dog in the topography before. Good catch. When you played it again you called out there is the first shot of the dog. But I saw it a few seconds before at 6:34. It's at the top on the right. I went to the beginning and see the headshot of Tan at 00:16. Change of subject. A weird feeling for me. Not sure where it comes from. I wondered if anyone else felt it. Of course, the other people in the MV were actors. Here was my gut feeling. It seemed their was no connection or no chemistry between them and V. They were just hired to appear. No acting skills. No even pretending they were real friends of V. Just that a casting director thought..I need to cast a group of people...all different in looks and styles. A hodge podge. It didn't even seem the actors knew each other. Or had any acting skills to pretend that they did. Or that they were supposed to be friends in the video. When V was on the ship with them in a group..again I felt no real affection taking place. It seemed V was all alone in the crowd. It even made me sad. When the video moved inside to his creation and TV room I didn't get it. I Love Love the song. And I feel V's feelings and emotions like he really is talking to "that girl". But other than the beautiful water shots with V and happy V leaning his head out the car window I didn't like much else. I thought the concept was poor. I wanted to see romancing while slow dancing. Or something kind of like that. The very beginning shots of the shimmering water and V moving in the water did capture me and put me in the mood. I think they missed a big opportunity. That girl could have been in the crowd. And to watch him make dreamy slow dancing eyes to her would have worked. Or a flash back of him with her in the water "dancing", and now she isn't in this crowd would have illicted some emotions of the lyrics of romancing and slow dancing. What do you think? I never saw him think about her in the MV. I heard him sing about her. But I got nothin'.
I think the concept at work here is that V has created a "Happy Place" to distract him from "her". The actors not having any connection to V (if that truly is the case) would also be inline with this concept as V has used "V-irtual Reality" to create this place (hence the workshop and all the tech)... those people would technically be avatars. A strange concept for sure, but it could show a desperation by V for some level of company when he knows he can't have "her". If there had been flashes of her and him slow-dancing, even in a form of reminiscence, it would've allowed some level of resolution to the viewer... something that V doesn't get to have. So that means we shouldn't have it either. We should feel what V is feeling; that means we are left in a space of loneliness, sadness, and longing for some resolution with her. All those things, in my opinion, are captured by the video, which it seems you also felt, but the execution fell flat for you personally.
@@ThisRoscoe Oh, hey, I like this exchange. I like how @ideagirl really dug into the elements that made her feel the mv fell short of her expectations. And I like your explanation of the concept that could help reconcile expectations with how Taehyung and his "different brain" presented the mood and emotions to the viewer. One reason why I like watching this channel.
@ThisRoscoe After I wrote my comment...then I listened to the rest of your analysis. And I was coming back on here to say.....However, Roscoe as a director has a clear insight into what V and the director created. My interpretation to what I wanted...and at a risk of getting offsetting comments...remember it's just my opinion...My reaction was a girly feminine romantic reaction with me having memories of me actually slow dancing at junior high and high school dances. This comment ages me because I haven't seen slow dancing portrayed on TV or Movies for years. Children and teens and most young adults don't even know it exists. I must say...Real Slow Dancing is wonderful. What is slow dancing? It wasn't depicted in this MV. V was dancing slow, but slow dancing is with a partner with your arms around each other. Ironically, a smooth slow jazz song would be the perfect tune to slow dance too. Roscoe, I enjoy watching you think out your theories. You can actually see your Amygdala working as you look to the ceiling or left and right to hear what your brain is theorizing. Bravo. I agree. A great real working theory to V's and the director's depiction. V's director isn't old enough to know what slow dancing is. And you probably aren't old enough either. So to conclude. I did listen to your interpretation. I liked it. No one else has set forth a theory. Only that V is gorgeous. His voice is gorgeous. And we want more of V. Last comment. I wish I could see more clearly what's in that room. What did he create on the table?
