Rodney Mullen is the GOAT bro! Round two is my guilty go to when the fam has gone to bed and I wanna remind myself why skating is more tech than playing an Ibanez. And you know my feels on that!
This was a fun watch! I did a review on one of these before they went into production... one of 300 test decks they had at the time (I never asked if I could, I just did). I used to be a pain in Steve Douglas' rear and he'd still send things over, haha. Cheers fam!
Awesome video. Rodney Mullen is the best, his flatland skills are just amazing. Also I think he is a very interesting and good dude, I remember seeing his TED talk a while back.
I made a light setup last year and I found that the biggest change was when I went for smaller wheels. I found a pair of 42mm’s and it made a world of difference in how fast the board can flip and spin, but it rolled for significantly less longer.
I think mine is pretty light. Flight deck, tensors mag lits, Ricta air cores, and Bronson ceramics. Since I put one together a few years ago. It's all I skate now.
Sweet 👌🏼I'm also in my mid 30s from Aus. I've been on and off skating my whole life. (besides as a kid/teen it was non stop lol). I just ordered the same board in 8". Also have another Almost mullen resin 7 deck. I've liked Almost for past years now. Something about the shape and kicks I enjoy. Mellow or steep both are good to me. Also their stiffness and how snappy they can be.
I have the same board and trucks with bones swiss ceramics and welcome hollow lite wheels. I just need the hollow ace hardware they just started making haha. Fun set up for is old guy's.
Thanks for the vids you sound just the same how I like my set up I had almost poker dog board heavy but great shape and graphic I think you just opened up my eyes to my new set up I'm 44 and can't pop like I use too
Wow...that's almost the exact setup I picked for my second board recently. I think the only differences are the bearings (Bronsons ceramics) and the width (8.25"). Trying to pick up skating again after trying it a few years ago. Enjoy your setup, should be sweet! :)
I have made in China cheapo ceramic bearings from 15 years ago. That are still rocking. But shield less as over the years I've lost them. From riding and cleaning. I lost like 3 then took the rest off. But there still rocken. Tbh. Me turning 40 this year. And have had a heart transplant a year ago. I'm going to try the impact light with maglight trucks. And if I can get my hands on some Powell dragon formula wheels. And more cheapy ceramics from china. There are some great industrial bearings company that are no names in skating. Just a pain in the ass to get.
that sounds like a sweet ride mate, good to hear your on the mend and getting back on the board, i can relate. Its tough after a serious/life changing injury. Also ive considered looking into bearing company's outside of skating as well, I reckon there has to be some industrial manufacturers out there that make heavy duty bearings.
This is my dream setup since my left ankle and right knee were badly injured last year. I don't actually pop my board that high before my injury, but of course, it still sucks when your knee starts to hurt even with just warm up tricks, not even starting your session, especially when you're using heavy Indy regular trucks.
fam this is an incredible setup that i tried back in high school (minus the ceramic bearings, my family was broke) lol i had to stop magnesiums because i personally found them too light
Polster trucks are very light- near Tensor and very affordable even kingpin seem to have bad quality material but it is possible replace kingpin, by the way has anyone experience with these Polsters?
hopefully you got the mag lights from last year because tensor is using aluminum baseplates on this years baseplates which adds 25g to each truck. check the bottom of your baseplate it should say magnesium under tensor. if it doesnt then they arent as light as the mag lights should be.
Yeeeew! I found it fun. Good trucks brah...i used to rock tensor back in the day. Super hardy and reliable man. Luv ya work my brother. Keep it real and spread you're knowledge!! Yew yew
Yeah those are the 5.75s they fit my 8.375 like a glove, I ride the same size on my bigger boards and as long as you stay under a 9 deck you should be fine mate👍
@@Rory-D Thanks man for taking the time out to let me know. Now I know what to expect from ThankYouSupply. I swear when you're young the measurements don't matter but when you start paying the big bucks for these decks they do.

haha i do! and i totally understand where your coming from, although i do love my ibanez haha
I'm 30 and started this year. I'm doing a lot of jumping exercises to help my jump game.
me too mate, it seems to help me keep my strength for popping!.
Rodney Mullen is everyones favorite skater. Prove me wrong.

Thanks mate, i do what i can. Rodneys the man.

Ahh true. i can see what your talking about that longer wheel rotation will delay each wheel spin like a vinyl record. very interesting man.
ive always wanted to know how the tensor mag light and uber light combo felt, im glad i found this lol
haha me too, that's why i made the video, hope it helped.
I’m skating a Santa Cruz VX Deck now and was thinking about trying Rodney’s deck next. Thanks for the great info!
Hope you enjoy it!
The VX is of almost identical weight lol
I’m from 2000 skaters, what I know during the days Titan Truck, Grind King are the lightest. For the deck is Element Lightfeather and Minilogo
Sick setup, I hear tensor trucks are amazing for flip tricks. I still love my aces

i really need those deck
Bro your video quality is great your videos are great I don’t understand how you don’t have more views
Thanks man! i really appreciate it, I hope it helped!

thanks man, check out the review, its a really unique board setup for sure!
Great video
I always went with a light board and heavy trucks an wheels. I always had way more control with flip tricks. It was like throwing an 🪓
Great tip! thanks mate.
Me and tensor don’t have a good relationship, I broke my ankle the day I got a set
sounds like you and your ankle have a worst relationship haha hope its healed up good mate!

Goddamn, that griptape idea is kinda neat! Might try it too.
Thanks man! Give it a try and see how you go!

my injury, but of course, it still sucks when your knee starts to hurt even with just warm up tricks, not even starting your session, especially when you're using heavy Indy regular trucks.
agreed mate, i have to warm up for ages these days to get some reasonable movement going again. The board and trucks help heaps.
UA-cam Knees Over Toes Ben Patrick. His exercises will fix your knee and ankle problems. 👍
Good stuff man! 👍👍👍
Thanks mate!
fam this is an incredible setup that i tried back in high school (minus the ceramic bearings, my family was broke) lol i had to stop magnesiums because i personally found them too light
Thanks bro, yeah I could never have brought this setup as a kid, way to expensive.
Tablets are not the lightest but I do like them, the lock-ins are a good middle point for what you’re saying imo
Thanks man, yeah i had to make some compromises, but its a great setup!
Never considered 2 types of grip... I'm gonna try it
give it a shot, see how you go! :)
I want to learn your tricks.
Very informative. Nice one Man
Thanks mate!
8.375 "wider" lol
all love tho great video G
haha thats what the sticker said...im just trying to call it as i see it hahaha, thanks bro.

what's the setup weight?
Yeeeew! I found it fun. Good trucks brah...i used to rock tensor back in the day. Super hardy and reliable man. Luv ya work my brother. Keep it real and spread you're knowledge!! Yew yew
Thanks bro, there was minimal info on the trucks so figured someone needed to make a video about them, should be a fun deck to ride.
are those tensors 5.75? do you think they're large enough for a 8.75 deck? thanks!
Yeah those are the 5.75s they fit my 8.375 like a glove, I ride the same size on my bigger boards and as long as you stay under a 9 deck you should be fine mate👍
@@Rory-D thanks appreciate it!
Correct me if im wrong arnt theeve tihanger trucks lighter. I know now 2hex lunarlight 3's are 40g lighter than the mag lights
Was this really an 8.375" wide? The 1 I got said it was 8.375" but when measured it was a little over 8.25" wide.
yeah when i measured mine i came to the same conclusion, its just over 8.25
@@Rory-D Thanks man for taking the time out to let me know. Now I know what to expect from ThankYouSupply. I swear when you're young the measurements don't matter but when you start paying the big bucks for these decks they do.
@@TheReal_DeanD my pleasure man, If i can help skateboarding in anyway i will :)
Jajaj just joking love youre videos
How was it?
It was awesome!
The lightest board in the world is a tech deck
Good luck skating it :)
Wait you dont skate it in the video. Wth dude. Out
its a setup video mate, (right there in the title) the review video is on my channel if you want to see it skated :)
Dude I can’t believe you kept me for five minutes and then hit me with a but yeah I’ll do a review once I’ve skated it later I’m like dude…
It says setup in the title man.
8.375? Using decimal points to measure a piece of wood is ludicrous.
thats what the sticker said on the board mate, but i agree, bit weird.
