I really don't understand what is going on with Haydunn in these matches. He made SO MANY misplays here. He overpredicts way too much, focuses on setting up too much when he shouldn't, and he was really really obsessed with the idea of the Grimmsnarl doing screens when it did not have one. What is going on with him? In his other videos he plays far better than in these tournaments.
How was he supposed to know if the Grimmsnarl didnt have screens? He doesnt know the opponents moves beforehand. You're basing your criticism on hindsight.
Don't give up Haydunn! Your builds are so cool honestly. ♡ And I can see you improving with the format all the time. Your matches have been some of my favorite this season. I believe in you.
Hey man, I’ve been watching you as If lately and I really love the work and creativity you put on your team. I’ve been playing Pokemon a lot more lately because of you and I try test running some teams on my own. I’m no good at it lately and I would lose a lot of battles. But I really enjoy your content and I would love to learn from you and still see your battles regardless. Keep it up and don’t feel bad or discouraged. You got a great community and folks to look out to you.
We all have runs like this man, doesn't change how entertaining you have been to watch, I know so many people feel that way too. Looking forward to the rest of your season
I can’t speak for everyone but I watch not for wins or losses but because you are just so damn entertaining. Keep doing your thing, I’m sticking with you either way!
I love these longer videos with the live commentary. Really interesting hearing your thoughts for every action your opponent takes and seeing how you reach your answers!
Yo I like the fact that you posted a full commentary of this battle. It's very enlightening to hear your thought process on a play-by-play basis. Keep ya head up, Haydunn! Win or lose, I've been watching you for a very long time and your content is always top tier brother.
Your thinking and attitude in these games are so admirable. I could almost hear the frustration in your voice right before your sylveon went down, and just with how the grimmsnarl was not utilizing prankster at all and everything was just pivoting around you getting so quiet and mumbly and not in your regular joking voice but still being such a good sport about it in your commentary. I’d be so bummed out about those battle situations, but I guess that’s just the difference between playing the game and being smart/mature about the game!
Nail biter down to the end. It was nice hearing your thoughts as the match progressed. This series is my first glimpse into draft league content and holy shit is it interesting.
This match was a valiant effort and I think you played real well during this match. Sneasler was an absolute threat and a lot of his mons have excellent coverage so it is really hard to plan against. In hindsight, bringing protect on H. Goodra would have been good in case Shady brought Tsareena with the high jump kick but again, that's hindsight.
Hey man. Been a subscriber for like 10 years.. don’t get discouraged. We’ve all been digging all the recent uploads especially the SPL stuff. People love the underdog training arc. You got this. Rooting for you. Once again, don’t get discouraged.
Keep your head held high man! It’s only your first season, and you’ve been throwing down every week with some incredibly high level players. Regardless of the outcome, you’re still improving every week. Hope to see you continue playing in future seasons of SPL.
Thanks for posting these every week, even with loses. Your explanations are awesome and talking through the match helps me figure out what I should do in those types of situations. Keep up the great work!
Please don't get discouraged! I absolutely love your content and am so grateful that you come up with strategies to make lesser used mons have the spotlight!
Man I almost saw the comeback taking place with that gamble. As you said these matches come down to one or two moves. You are getting closer and closer to the first win!
8:20 haydunn is doing live commentary! I’ve waited for this for years. This is why I had to start watching just weavile and pokeaimmd. I love the live reactions. The thought process. Woohoo. You got me excited
Watched both perspectives and this really was a great battle! Don’t get discouraged. Win or lose I love your content. It is always entertaining to watch!
Been subscribed to you for your WiFi battles and recently started watching draft league. I was so stoked when pokeaimmd announced you as one of the coaches and I love the draft league content man! Hope to keep watching you in more draft leagues!
I still enjoy watching how you approach each battle and watching thr battle itself regardless the outcome. Also love live commentary for this and post commentary for wifi. As long you have fun that's all the matters and if you learned something new, then the loss doesn't feel as bad. I know if I tried this draft I'll probably get 0-6 every game.
To echo others, please don’t let this discourage you. This series has been phenomenal. It really gives us an opportunity to see into your decision making and the stakes feel higher than usual. It’s the first thing I look for in my feed on a Monday morning! Thanks for all the years of incredible entertainment
This was a great match between you and Shady, hearing your live commentary was a nice spin too! I hope you'll still do more draft content no matter the outcomes, you have our full support!!
I've been really enjoying this series. I'd never heard of a draft league for Pokemon before, so it's been really cool watching it for the first time and listening to your explanations of your decisions. Please don't get discouraged from the losses - it's just as fun to watch you learn a new format.
Chin up Haydun, you've been playing well, it's tough but everything takes practice and commitment. I hope you keep playing and try next season, I love the content. I've been watching since diamond and pearl days, and can't get enough of the league battles!
Been watching Haydunn since we were both kids. Grew up near shady, and now live in Colorado. I’m rooting for Haydunn, but will happily watch both ends of this matchup
Shady is a beast, and has been seriously in the competitive scene for a couple of years, and I love that you're doing this too! His Ice Punch was phenomenal and tipped everything in his favor. Grimmsnarl is very predictable until it ain't. Stay with it, the excitement of a loss is what makes a win awesome. Keep going, Haydunn, we're rootin' for ya !!!
This was a really fun watch. I kind of want to see what it’d be like for you to lean into your unpredictable team building skills that we all love. See if you can steal some wins with incredibly random builds
Honestly I would say please don’t be discouraged. Especially watching Shady’s side of this, he praises a lot of your plays and you both did really well in this battle. This for me was one of the most entertaining battles that has come out of this league so far.
I'm not even gonna sit here and pretend that I'd be good at a draft league, and game planning against other great battlers. But look at most of these comments Haydunn. Win or lose, we all love your vibes and your videos man. This was a fun one to watch. Love both you and Shady, and there's no doubt you'll get your win soon enough. Best believe I'll still be rooting for your 0-4 ass the whole way through!
Don’t get discouraged haydunn! I’ve been watching you for years and I know you’re a great battler so keep going and I know you’ll improve and start getting dubs
Couldn't care less about the 0-4 , I'm sure you're not stoked with it, but I love the honesty in the commentary and the game play. I'll keep watching mate, love it
Gotta give yourself more credit boss. You are my and many others’ favorite creator of the past decade or so. Peeps probably shaking in their boots prepping for you. If you think about your strengths and what they are probably doing to prep for you, that might help.
There must be so much mind games figuring out what to bring. You gotta bring stuff to counter your opponent but if you only do that then your opponent can bring counters for you counter
I do like the live commentary, it’s interesting to see the thought process as it happens, but it did make the video 3 times as long, so I personally like the ~10 minute in general more
I think when facing switchers it's best to be aggressive and chip them as much as possible. They often expect you to overthink the match ups. But this is a very entertaining series
Every L is a W in disguise. Competitive Pokemon has a strong reliance on mind games. Expectations are just a tool to use in the mental gymnastics. These matches are a nice tool for those that may have an interest in learning more about competitive play. The live commentary also provided a lot of good that the post sometimes leaves out. Hearing these in the moment last second decisions after the careful thinking about what play to make.
Love the vids even though some mistakes were made, for someone like me the lost matches teach more! Im trying to learn the basics of competitive and these have been super helpful
Was torn between who’s video to watch first as love ya both but ended going by whom I subbed to first which was cool to find out, subbed to you in April 2015 and Shady December same year 😮
Great Video as always, and don't get discouraged. You're a Singles WiFi battles, Draft leagues are a whole other ball game, just practice, get some people and practice against the teams other's are running and you'll have a rough idea of what to expect. Love the Content though man, Keep this up
Please don't stop doing draft, we love you and you showed great potential versus Emvee, for example! No doubt that, once you get a bit more used to the format, you'd rock :)
Haydunn was too predictable in this match . He lost 3 pokemon (Goodra, Beartic and Gliscor) trying to set up. Sometimes, chip damage is more importante than boosting.
Please do not get discouraged to do more draft content. Ive been supporting you for over a decade now and I love this kinds of videos

@@relikvia4it’s probably just nerves this is his first draft if i remember right.
As long as he tried that's all that matters right? Nothing ventured nothing gained.
He is making great teams. These games are so much harder to play than a random battle. He will get his W soon
How was he supposed to know if the Grimmsnarl didnt have screens?
He doesnt know the opponents moves beforehand.

mad respect for continuing to upload, no matter the outcomes we appreciate the vids and continue to support you man!
That was a great battle, Haydunn! I appreciate the uploads regardless of the outcomes. Don't feel discouraged at all, practice makes perfect
I love these longer videos with the live commentary. Really interesting hearing your thoughts for every action your opponent takes and seeing how you reach your answers!
That ice punch on the grim was so out of left field lol
It fucking was.

The matchup I’ve been dreading, my 2 boys; pitted against one another, divided to decide😢
Saaaameeee
Beartic def needs a third evo just like ursaluna

I found it so weird when he brought out the goodra against Tsareena. It is extremely common for those to pack high jump kick. What was he thinking???
@@relikvia4 To be fair, there are a lot of mons and it's hard to remember what each one does, especially if you haven't used that mon in a while.
