So I got the strip connected to the hue hub and working with screen bloom. But they won't turn off. I've tried through the hue hub and Alexa app but they will not turn off or change colors from those. They stay blue all the time unless im rubbing them through screen bloom. Any thoughts on why this is?
@@bcarter1430 hi Justin, try unplugging it and plugging it back in. I've noticed with the hue hub bulbs can get unresponsive over time. Almost like a RAM overload. Every now and again I have to unplug my hub for a minute and close the app manually on my phone. Try that and see. My hue bulbs can go unresponsive as well sometimes, but I'm pushing 50 bulbs as well.

I ordered this from K2. It's excellent, probably the easiest device ive ever paired to SmartThings...
It does what a hue strip would do, for a fraction of the cost, even Google home works perfectly. I can't imagine Phillips hue will be able to keep charging those prices with competitors like this emerging.

They won't work with Homekit natively. There is a bit of a workaround, but Hue won't expose third party bulbs to Homekit. One of the limitations with using third party bulbs or controllers with Hue.

Hi. Great vid. I bought a few of these after viewng it.
I'm currently running one of these with a 3 metre strip. It works fine but I've noticed that the colours do not match properly with the Gledapto RGBCCT 12 watt bulb. Is this because it is longer than the 2 metre? If I cut it to 2 metre would is solve the colour accuracy issue?
HI Jordan, The LED's used in the strip aren't the same as the bulb, plus the bulb has the white diffuser on it. That sharpness (?) of the LED strip will go down as you diffuse it through a white lens.

Would be better to choose a IP65 version for behind your TV, PC Monitor or even for under-the-shelf installation?
In these strips, I personally like the IP65 version better. It's not as easy to use connectors after cutting them, but the circuit board (strip) that the LED's are mounted to aren't as thick as other strips, so having the rigidity of the silicone makes them easier to use all in one piece. If you intend on cutting them, the IP 20 is easier to use, but it can be a little more pliable than the IP65. It's a personal decision, but for me, the IP65 is the way to go. You don't need to cut it it to go around the back of a TV or monitor, you can do a simple bend in a 90 degree angle. That also helps ensure you don't lose continuity with the other parts of the strip if you cut it and use connectors.

Funkar inte med gledopto 2,4 G wireless RGB+CCT led controller. Det kommer framme gröna ljus och efter visa att kan inte hitta led ljusslinga. Jag har Philips Hue bridge, 13 lampor och två lightstrip är kopplat och den ena är Livarno som funkar jättebra. Jag provade många gånger men det gick inte att koppla till Hue system. Kan du hjälpa mig. Ha det gott.

So I'm thinking about using this for my kitchen cabinets. I would like to have it sync up with my Phillips Hue. The controller looks great. If I use another brand light strip with the controller will it still go through all of the color shows?
Hi Leo. The strip and controller come together now. Most RGB CCT strips are 12v or 24v, so it's best to stick with this 5v strip and controller as one unit. For longer runs, like Kitchen cabinets, check out our other videos on using the full size controllers and 24v strips as under cabinet lights.

Are there double rowed led strips that can be connected to the mini controller? If not, is there a way to perfectly align 2 led strips next to each other? All I can find are corner connectors, and If I use 2 of them to make the 180 degree turn, the gap between the strips is too big for my application.
HI Rens, there aren't any double row strips that I'm aware of. The strip that comes with it is the only one I've seen that works with the controller due to the way it connects to the controller. If you wanted to make a 180 degree turn, maybe something like this will work? If you have room for the wires at the end, you can loop it back that way.

Hi @K2Hometech, I am trying to build and RGB Room lighting with HUE. Currently I have a bridge, 1x lightstrip, 1x lightbolb HUE brand and recently I purchased Gledopto USB Mini LED Strip Zigbee Controller Kit as a cheaper version of the HUE strips.
Apps Using:
- HUE Sync
- Hue Android APP ( Hue App and HUE Essentials)
- smart things
I find HUE Sync a great windows app as it allows me to switch from gaming to videos and music very easy.
Unfortunately the Zigbee controller cannot be added to the entertainment area.
ANd I am looking for something similar. Is there an app that can behave like HUE Sync with Zigbee controllers?
Hi @Bobby P, Yes, the downside of using these with your Hue hub is that they don't work with Hue Sync. Hue has that as an exclusive to their own brand. The Gledopto products and other Zigbee bulbs work with ScreenBloom. You can check that out at www.screenbloom.com/.
The rest of the third party apps work with Gledopto as well. Hue Disco is one of my favorites for music and Hue Dynamic is great for effects and ambiances. Check those out as well.
Hi! Is there any info on if your bridge can't find these? I have been trying to connect, but out of troubleshooting ideas.
HI Max, What bridge are you using? If you're using the Philips Hue bridge, try resetting the strip and controller, then unplug the Hue bridge for about 10 seconds. Once it boots back up, start the search for new lights, then plug in the strip and controller. Sometimes when it fails, it gets held up in the memory of the bridge so that is why I recommend unplugging the bridge to clear the RAM.

What about 90 degrees connectors for this Gledopto strip?
You can use connectors on it, but with the IP65 silicone rating of it, that silicone has to be stripped off first. It's easier to get an IP20 version of the strip.

Yes, they can be cut about every inch and a half.

I'm running a hubitat but I want to run these with screen bloom. Do I need the hue hub or will the hubitat work?
Hi Justin, as far as I know, screenbloom only works with the Hue hub. That's a good question and maybe they have a work around for hubitat. They have a contact us section on their page so they maybe more help than I am. I have used them with my Hue hub and screenbloom so I can confirm that works.

@@bcarter1430 you'd add them to the hue hub as if it were a hue bulb, then you set up screenbloom through your PC. If there's any trouble adding them to the hub reset them, I have a video for that. Screenbloom.com has the rest of the setup. You need a free account with them, then link your hue bridge to it. After that, you're good to go. There's lots of different settings on screenbloom to use.
How to connect the mini controller to tradfri IKEA?

Yes, the accessories work fine with the Gledopto products as long as you add them to the hue bridge.

For example, various switches, other zigbee products such as ikea's tradfri and other zigbee plug. Or like other zigbee wifi sockets. Or here is the compatibility with the hue brigde of the aqara brand that xiaomi is partnering with.
@@k2hometech548 Hello. Previously, I asked you a question on youtube and therefore I preferred the glepdopto mini led product. but I have a problem like this. I asked you if this product works with Philips smart button. The product works nicely with the smart button, but after about 5-6 hours it is not controlled by any Philips hue smart app or the smart button and remains unresponsive. So I can't control with hue bridge. When I try to turn it off even after it has been turned on for 2 hours, unfortunately, I am not getting any response and the product does not turn off. it also doesn't open after this time frame.So I think there is a problem. I don't know that off hand. This is 5v USB powered so the power is limited to at maximum 2a as most USB's put out at maximum 2a. They aren't dim by any means, but they won't light a room up on it's own. As an accent light or behind a TV or monitor, they are plenty. If you need lights that have power and brightness, look at the full size units, especially the 24v ones. This 5v is brighter than some 12v's I've seen.
how can I use this lights if i dont have the hub ?
HI Luis, you need a Zigbee hub to use these, like Philips Hue, Samsung SamrtThings, or Hubitat. If you want a 2M strip that doesn't need a hub, but is Bluetooth controlled, check these out.

can I use the Gledopto controller with Samsung SmartThings Hub and without the Philips Hue smart hub?
Yep. Works with Smartthings, hubitat, echo plus, etc. Gledopto is even under the brands section in SmartThings when you add a device. It only lists the RGBCCT controller, but all the bulbs and the mini controller (here) work adding them under the controller. It also works as a Smartthings generic rgbw bulb.
@@k2hometech548 that's good news. I have gone through the process of setting it up only to have it pause on a screen that tells me to "1. Connect the LED product to the controller." (which it was) and "2. Start the device searching on the hub. If the hub does not find the LED controller, plug the power off/on or make a reset" I did and a couple of times but to no avail. ? I must be missing something? I even moved everything within inched of the SmartThings Hub.
I just did the off/on 4 times reset and on blinking led light.
@@UnFormCirusprint Sorry Dan, I didn't see the reply right away. The reset procedure is plug it in, wait until the LED's turn on, count to one, unplug it. Do that through counting to 5, then leave it plugged in. The LED's will flash then turn white.
@@UnFormCirusprint It doesn't need to be close to the hub to pair. It sounds like a reset will work and I have a quick video on the gledopto reset procedure. Once it's reset, you can also use the old way of pairing them, which is under the brand SmartThings on the app, select Lighting, and then Smart Bulb. I paired mine doing that before Gledopto became a supported brand.
