PLEASE LOOK AT THIS: "Nikon Small world Photomicrography Competition" To be fair, some pictures require different technology ($$$$), but some can be done with a regular/affordable microscope and a good camera. We need to know more about how to stack images and other more advance (but still affordable) options.
What microscope camera do you use for these videos? I bought one recently (AmScope MU500-HS) only to realize it is USB-2 which gives terrible framerates. I was very surprised that I couldn't even record decent video with it even though I spent $250.
I have a dslr connected to the microscope. I could record 4K video (but do not do that due to the size). For video, mobile phone is therefore also OK, because there is no slow usb connection. yo can increase the framerate by reducing the resolution. alternatively you could connect an HDMI camera and then HDMI to USB converter. this also works well.
I just missed the live! I was in mission; getting samples from my local pond! I'm looking for 🧲 magnetotactic 🧲 bacteria in sediment and tardigrades from various moss. I also collected feces of canadian goose to look for parasites and other kind of microbes as a biohazard bonus! If you do so, please, wash your hand and outside container with disinfectant right after you do the sampling. I have not touched the feces, but I had to put my hand deep in the leech infested mud and potential parasites from bird poop! With this kind of sample, please use extra caution with slide preparation and overall cleaning. Biohazard is no joke.... Years ago, a friend of mine fall in water infested with parasites. He got infected within 5 minutes. Small worms that went under the skin for few weeks and dies. It was horribly hitching and disgusting to see the red traces they leave each days under the skin! Have fun, but don't forget the safety!
Another really GREAT live video!
