Glasses for an Asian nose (At home tricks to get glasses to fit an Asian/wider/smaller nose bridge)

  • In this video, I’ll go over my tried and true at home tricks to get glasses to fit an Asian nose (wider/smaller/shallow nose bridges).
    I’ve use these techniques on my own glasses and they work every time. Now I don’t deal with glasses that slide down my nose and fall of my face.
    I always had a hard time finding glasses that fit and look good with my asian features (small nose, large and wide cheeks). After finally figuring out what I can do to make glasses fit better on me, I felt much more confident wearing them.
    Unfortunately, most frame manufacturers don’t provide and cater to those of us that do not have caucasian features. I always had thought that my face was the issue when it came to finding glasses that I looked good in and that fit me. I realized after working in the optical industry, that it wasn't my face that was the issue, it was the frame companies that weren't catering to Asian facial features.
    I hope these at home tricks help you feel more confident wearing your glasses.

    OMG you have no idea how much this changed my life!!! My glasses were so tight on the bridge, I didn't realize it was causing a tear duct blockage....around my eyes became swollen within a month & 2 months later red & bloodshot. I just adjusted them now & they feel so light on my nose AND My ears...no more lashes touching my lenses & no more sliding!!! LIFE SAVER!!!!!! Thank you.

    While doubling up didn't work, it totally put your pupils in the middle of the frame which is my current issue. I'll probably switch to glasses with nose pads so that I can adjust naturally, but I'm going to get these silicon ones in the meantime! Thank you

    Thank you for sharing all your tips. Any tips on preventing deep marks on the nose and preventing make up rubbing off around the nose?

    • @noonci5062
      @noonci5062  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Asian Angie! I like the name 😄 if the glasses fit well and are adjusted properly they shouldn’t leave deep marks on the nose. Usually the plastic ones need to be tightened in the temples and curled more around the ears. For the metal ones with nose pieces they might need the same adjustment but also the nose pads can be widened too. For preventing makeup from rubbing off, I use a lot of face finishing powder right where the nose pieces rest. First, I blot my nose then I use a good layer of powder on top. Hope that’s helpful!

    • @noonci5062
      @noonci5062  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much! I do too! The nosepieces are a big part of the right fit. If the nosepieces are set up on the bridge of the nose high enough then the frames shouldn’t touch the cheeks. Hope that helps

    The adhesive on those stick-on pads doesn't last long and they fall off after a couple weeks,even sooner if they're left in a car in warm weather.

    Thank you so much! Very well done video, clear, concise and perfect demonstrations. Appreciate your help! I did come across u shaped strap nose bridges on Amazon which creates a band from one nose piece to the other, this helped me some but not on the glasses that did have screws in the nose pad. I loved the idea of spreading the nose pads and tightening the bridges.

    • @noonci5062
      @noonci5062  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much! I’m happy it was helpful! That’s interesting what you’ve found with the bands for the nose pads. I’ve always had to replace my screw on nose pads with large, extra soft silicone ones. They feel better in my nose and spreads out the weight because my prescription is really high.

    How do you use the rubber bands shown on minute 10:10? You only moved the nose pads with your thumbs, what do you do with the rubber band? I'm not Asian, I do have a low bridge and all glasses slip down my nose, it's annoying and it can hurt.

    • @noonci5062

      Hi! Hahah you caught my mess up on this video 😅 I forgot to add the rest of that part but I did add it to my “creating custom glasses” video I posted right after this one. Pretty much the rubber bands wrap around the curve of the temple part right before it curves to your ear. That way they create a kind of grip to the head. I’ll post another video soon on more at home tricks and include it there again. Sorry about the confusion!

      Definitely could happen. The best way to adjust metal nose pads is going very slow and making micro adjustments at a time. Holding the frames in the middle creates more stability than on the ends. You can also ask your neighborhood optical for adjustments too

    The link to the nose pads is 2mm Is that the size you recommend? I noticed there were other nose pad options and sizes as well. I wouldn’t even know what size I’d need.

    • @noonci5062
      @noonci5062  2 роки тому

      The nose pads listed are a good length for most frames. You might need a thicker one depending on how much of a lift you need off your nose. I would suggest a thicker one if your nose bridge doesn’t have much bone support

    What style of glasses do you recommend with a dress with tall boots.

    • @noonci5062
      @noonci5062  2 роки тому

      I would say it would depend on the color and style of the boots and dress. For a flowery flirty dress with cowboy boots I imagine a pink and brown marbled round keyhole acetate frame. Super girly and flirty. But let’s say it’s a tight sweater dress with black leather thigh high boots, I imagine bold all black squarish cat eye acetate frames for a sultry look. So I would probably pick glasses that match the theme and feel you’re going for with your look. I hope that answered your question 🥴
