Memphis Inner City Rugby Shares Thoughts on Title IX

In our recent series, we’re honoring the 50th anniversary of Title IX, which was celebrated on June 23. We’re speaking to various individuals from our network to get their thoughts on the impact of the historic legislation and their own experiences. Hear from Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR) coaches on their thoughts and views about Title IX, the historic legislation in the United States prohibits sex discrimination (including pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity) in any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.
In 2020, MICR were one of the recipients of the Beyond Sport, Sport for Reduced Racial Inequalities Collective Impact Award. The initiative was designed to drive collaboration between multiple community sports organizations to address systemic racism, inequality and injustice in the United States.
