Sideways is one of my favorite movies. I felt Vertical had a lot of potential for a sequel...Sorry they never pulled the trigger
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Chris. Most appreciated.
I wish Alexander Payne would make Sideways 2 and 3, based on the sequel novels to make it a trilogy.
Let Rex know your thoughts, Satchel334. His social media links are in the video description. Many thanks for taking the time to comment!
Reading "Sideways" was an intense revelation. I thought that the movie was profound, saw it many times, but the book is so much deeper and more complex. Since Rex has made two movies, I wonder why he doesn't just raise a million from all the people he knows in the movie business and direct himself a low budget film with not so well known but excellent actors.
Hi, Nanosecondto Midnight. Rex has been concentrating on theater as of late. Plus, Hollywood is rather fluid. It's not easy to raise funding unless you're in the mix during the here and now.
Did Vertical become a movie?
Hi Edward. As of the moment, Vertical is not a film.
Mercifully not.
@@authorauthorwithsvenmichae9615 Too bad it wasn't.
no and prob never will...Alexander Payne won't make it and fox Searchlight owns the movie characters of Miles and Jack....plus once Joy and Jack left the road trip the rest of the book fell flat...
Paul or Thomas weren't completely unknown actors...if that were the case they wouldn't have beaten out Robert Downey jr and Matt Dillon
