Growing up in the 70's, my Grandfather had one of these in Bavaria. He would take us out on the autobahn into Munich going flat out at 220KM. It was smooth as glass and fast as stink. A wonderful car, great restoration.
Get rid of front spoiler yellow lights and rear fin and fogs. Paint car silver. Car supposed to be sandblasted first. You supposed to get floor panels from bmw. End result does look good. Well done
The person who abandoned this beauty has clearly no heart for cars...whatsoever! Excellent restoration from you who really deserves and appreciates this car. 😊
Most people don't know about these models of BMW what a super job on restoring this rare e 9 .Here in Europe you can still find them every now and then great job
One of the most beautiful cars. I will never forget how, in the 70s, Schnitzer and Alpina modified cars raced in the European Touring Car Championship at the circuit in Brno. Oh yeah, today's cars aren't pretty anymore. Thanks.
Whenever you strip a car down like that. . . That's the perfect time to really really upgrade EVERYTHING! I would have insulated the heck out that ride and give it the ultimate sound proof matting. However, excellent job man 👍🏾💯✅
it is close to miracle that this car had so little corrosion after so many years outdoors, number plate shows B for Barcelona, maybe the mild and dry med. sea climate, neverthless, awesome job you did.
Made my cantilever extend towards my left knee, watching this pure labour of love. Ambushed my significant other a thrashing of her life, leaving her with more questions than answers.
From the time that cars had soul!! When you saw the car. And you knew that was a beemer. Just don't like the front skirt. And the thing in the top. I don't know the name in english. It's not my first language. But... we like what we like. Good job. Love this car. A grey one took me to school in the 80's.
Wow! Stunning creation! Has amazing presence! Was always a classic design which looks even better all these years later. Hope it is cared for and kept warm and dry and not out in the forest anymore. Well done, superb restoration.
Show more of the finished car Pls. From all sides & Angles . We have no idea how nice it may look ? You showed us all the rust & rot & Welding. How does the car look ? We like to see the finished item. 10% or 20% of the video time on the finished car in a nice setting, or driving on a road. Yes we know a lot of work went into it &time & money. Thanks A great car & a good vid' , I just want to see the car !
Amazing Job !! I can say from the photos that lot of the work has been conducted at home. Need not to mention the body and mechanical work. But I'm amazed by the work invested in the details and self made internal panels by cutting from wood and covering them with leather or fabric, the carpet,,,etc. Great job man, which you to enjoy your classic BMW E9.
Brilliant choice for a project car. WOW!!! That car looks simple amazing. You found one hell of shop to pull this off. I don't know if it ever looked this good. Respect has been earned for the finished car. Enjoy it.
Questo gioiello ha avuto un lavoro di restauro a dir poco eccellente!.la macchina è spettacolare, stupenda, estetica straordinaria.complimenti per il lavoro, così si fa.superba!
Reminds me of the (Deputy Commander of Maintenance) (DCM), Col. Morrison’s 735 CSI that he drove while I was stationed at SpangDahlem AB, Germany. I was there in 1984-1986. That car was fast just sitting in his parking spot. All I had was a Ford LTD ll, with a 5.0 LTR, v8. Wished I had that hot rod back.
Super job sir, I really like everything you have done, an amazing amount of skill and hard work. With the greatest respect why the spoiler? just looks out of place to me, is it from a rally version of this car? As long as you like it that's all that really matters.
the most beautiful BMW ever! My driving school car in 1976 was a 2002i, that's the reason why I also drive 2nd hand BMW in my younger years. I always dreamed of a BMW 3,0 CSi (similar like your 2800), unluckily my money wasn't enough to fulfill my dream. Definitely your car is a "rare Pearl"...!!

NEVER Welded, engine never taken out or taken apart. everything is ORIGINAL with FULL BMW Service history to the month i bought it. ( Checked & Confirmed to be correct & Genuine at 147,000 miles. It drives like New and i would drive across Any continent at any time with no worries ! It's due for a pair of Drop links, a set of tyres & an oil change . The HRW ( rear window de mist does not work at the moment ? hey i found a fault !! ) No dents, no scratches, no rust, or corrosion, No paint work needed. Glossy Black & shiny all over. inc wheel arches. No cracks in the leather. carpets are like new.
At the beginning (0:24) there was no serious damage to the front, but then at 0:30 there was what looked like some nasty and quite old damage to the front. Was it damaged while awaiting restoration? I love the colour and the "Euro-style" headlights, but I'm not too keen on the roof spoiler and the chrome arches (just personal taste). Incredible job though, well done and it's great seeing you give such a beauty a new lease of life! 👍
It is an excellent restoration, but for my taste it failed in the wheel rings, I would have put the original ones or some wheels with short spokes in the style of the 60's ... it is also a great restoration job, congratulations
Beautiful restoration, I'm just not entirely sure whether a white/white color combination was actually available by BMW at the time, and did you use original colors for the paintwork and trim? Also, the wheels are very nice but not historically appropriate for the 2800CS which had much smaller rims and "chunkier" 70-profile tires back in the day. Of course it's much better to drive with modern tires but if you intend to take it to classic car concourses I'd advise to mount the original wheels. Well done anyway, she looks great!

Boy is that SHARP... I usually hate stick on chrome wheel arches but for some reason they dont look too bad here. I think its time for me to knock on the door down the street from my house to see if they want to sell the same vehicle that has been sitting in the driveway for far too long. ;)

I agree with you

yes the engine cover has been blocked and we can't easily open it, because of that ;) Thanks!
Did you sell this BMW or put it on your collection ?
It is an excellent restoration, but for my taste it failed in the wheel rings, I would have put the original ones or some wheels with short spokes in the style of the 60's ... it is also a great restoration job, congratulations
Thank you
Awesome work!!!
Thanks!
How much did the whole restoration cost?
200 quid
color match the chrome wheel moldings to match the paint of the car?
