    Awesome video! I’ve spent a lot of time flipping tullies and reeds, but I still just don’t have much confidence in my ability to consistently get a bite on them so I often pass them up for other structure. I’ll have to be a little more patient and learn to fish them better! Thanks for the info!

      Big thanks for the comment man. The flip bite can be hit or miss on our AZ lakes but it's a blast when it's on. Great way to get a big bite

    I have a question about your first piece of advice, why don't you just use a LH reel? I could understand if it was 20+ years ago when they didn't make very many, or none in the beginning, & they weren't up to the quality of the RH reels. But now days the LH reels are just as good. I still can't understand why so many of the pros still use RH baitcasters & LH spinning reels????? And most of them that I've seen, cast right handed. I did enjoy the video & those 2 were very nice, especially the first one!

      Thanks for watching and thanks for the question man. A few guys I know have actually learned to do what you're saying and use a left handed reel for flipping exclusively. For me, it seemed easier to flip left handed than reel lefty for whatever reason.

    Good stuff man. A video on catching em deep would rock. Probably the area most guys lack confidence.

      Thanks man. I'll absolutely do some deep fishing videos soon! Taking advantage of the shallow bite while it's here but I'll go deep soon.

    Good video with great information on flipping! Grew up using a Mitchell 300 so left handed reels is the only way! Don't need the dominant arm reeling! It needs to be controlling the rod!

    That was awesome
    I am right handed i do have right hand reels but also left handed reels to flip and pitch so I have control and contact to the reel at all times
    Good stuff thanks Josh

      That's cool man. Pretty awesome you were able to learn to reel left handed for flipping. For whatever reason that was really difficult for me to do.

    Josh that was an awesome morning! I've been waiting for a video like that. Great instruction as always. How about showing how you use a football jig on deep structure or how you drop shot those vertical walls?

    Hey Josh, nice vid. Really nice to have AZ tips. I know you know Johnny Johnson. He’s been the best out here so far. I know what rods, reels, line to use for flipping, but you might want to add those to your vids if your looking to teach more. Let people know, not just any reel works as well for flipping without backlash, etc. Otherwise, just ignore me. Lol. Once again, your neighbor. Thanks.

    Great video! Thanks for showing the set up. We're you in the river section of Sag (saw some waves coming your way... should be no wake? Have you fished the reeds in the Bass Cove area?

      Hey Alan, I fished a mix of the river and main lake in this video. Anywhere you have reeds/tules on that lake you're likely to find bass.

  • @chadingram6390

    This is a fantastic video, what made you decide to pitch the tullies and reeds for most of the day?

    • @joshbertrandfishing1274
      @joshbertrandfishing1274  2 роки тому

      Thanks for watching man. To be honest, in this case I did it for the sake of the video. In most cases however it's a bite than can last all day and sometimes improve as the sun gets higher and the fish tuck back into the shade tighter.

    Hey Josh , when using straight braid in Az what color do you prefer ( specifically for flipping) ?

  • @dkatzaz
    @dkatzaz 2 роки тому

    What pound braid, 50-65?

    • @joshbertrandfishing1274
      @joshbertrandfishing1274  2 роки тому

      I like 65 in most cases for flipping. It's significantly less likely to break than 50

      Thanks for watching Michael. I really like Roosevelt as well as the Colorado river (Havasu or Martinez) for flipping.
