Papercrete 1

Some of the steps in mixing and plastering with papercrete. This was the second day of plastering with papercrete in Al Baydha; we were still ironing out the kinks in the process and at this point mixing by hand/shovel.

Looks like they've got the man (and woman) power though. It's fantastic seeing community projects in action. Papercrete looks like the perfect material for that climate.

Al Baydha project location: 21°03'05.44" N 39°54'10.87" E - it is extremely hard to find without these exact coordinates.
You can follow the site's progress using Google Earth, and witness the transformation of what was a wasteland.
