    Cheers mate that’s what I do go around with q1 sensitive or yellow frog and then tape polythene but I am thinking about what you said about dust off the sanding thanks I will try them tapes

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  3 роки тому

      Tesa pink is the lowest tac. But when surfaces are cold some sensitive tapes sont stick well do ideally run your finger over them before you hit that area with the sprayer incaee it blows it up. Same happens next day. It can re stick next day too if youve already sprayed.
      But thats what usually happens. Its because when you sand walls theres usually alot of dust still on the wall. Or if youve used contract matt under durable. The durable doesnt bond well to contracy and will pull

    Just for those who don't know, you can also use water and ammonia 50% mix to clean up BIN, anything that is dried up would need denature alcohol. Much cheaper compared to denature alcohol

    No need to remove the nozzle. Use a straw brush - long brush with long wire handle. Insert from back all the way to the tip of the nozzle. Fill suction line with alcohol. Pull brush back and forth. Whitish alcohol will squirt - indicating you are scrubbing the nozzle from the inside. Also clean needle and the tube (air valve) in which the needle goes in. I do this every day multiple times, zero problems.

    Hi mate good videos. Just a quick question about the tape you use when you have sprayed walls and gone around with tape and drop clothes the next day to spray the ceiling. I have tried everything but even the best pulls some of the wall paint away. I was wondering what tape to use

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  3 роки тому +1

      Hey bud. Did you see the video i made on masking a room?
      I changed over to indasa a year or so ago. Also tesa is great. If ive painted. I use sensitive or low tac to tape my walls. Then tape and polythene onto that. Tape pulls paint off when its not bonded, so could be dust behind the paint from when it was sanded.
      But I'll always use a low tac and then tape onto that with protection hope that helps. Also deltec purple is nice very similar to indasa purple though

    You can dilute gun wash with meths making it less aggressive. Usually I use this to clean lacquer from expensive brushes, but could be useful on more “delicate” parts of a spray gun.

    I've been encouraged to enter the world of spraying rather than brush and roller as you make it look very simple with all your videos which aren't "techy"! Do you use water based satinwood for woodwork and if so how much do you dilute or do you prefer oil based i.e. Dulux Satinwood (and would you dilute with white spirit ? My concern is the cleaning especially all the internal bits of the gun etc. Having just invested in a Graco 9. HVLP I'm struggling to get the right a mount of paint onto the doors and skirting? many thanks in advance

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  Рік тому +1

      Hry thanks for watching the videos glad you found them helpful. I try to keep things simple.
      I mainly used waterbased and any finish. I use a number 4 needle. You want around 10% dilution
      I actually use a measuring jug or when you get an eye for it you can judge it by eye. Some people tend to go too fast with hvlp thinking theyve applied too much. When infact not enough is on there qnd it dries rough. So its better to build sections up in several coats dont go for gold with 1 coat. I'll share a video i did showing you waterbased set up

    So I have a small space to undercoat spray 18 x kitchen cabinet doors in my garage. Zinder Bin shellac primer ( I’m in the states too) takes 45 mins to dry per coat . If I do four doors at a time I lay them down and spray both side , I will need to leave 45 mins between coats.
    Will the nozzles clog up in 45 mins too on gun? How do you prevent this to do multiple coats, or do you have to just clean tips etc every time?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  7 місяців тому +1

      Have a brush and cleaning product close by. When done i brush the tip, pull trigger back and brush tip then release. So long as the build up has gone you'll be fine. As inside is air tight. The tip would skin over id say within 30mins of no use.
      But means you dont need to strip anything down. Worst case. You unscrw the horns etc for a quick soak and brush the. Re fit

      Hi mate. Thanks for your reply. I’ve got the gun and pot all set up and connected to the turbine unit. It’s just how to get the pressure in the pot. I’ve seen some other videos that say you need a 18” - 20” jet of paint and then you spray it into a measuring cup for 15 or 30 seconds. Just a bit confused that there is absolutely nothing about setting it all up. Thanks again for your help and it’s nice to know that I’ve got someone to go to. Thanks again and for all the help. Thoughts on the Fuji semi pro as a fine finish gun?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  3 роки тому

      hey. semi pro 2? IF so its not a very powerful unit. you should look more to a mini mite 4 or Q4 minimum in my opinion. Also the gun on the semi pro is the M series which is ok. but its not as nice as the T series which come with the other units. try and aim for a 4 stage minimum unit as that would be around 9psi power. the 2 stage units around like 5psi. 3 stage 6 to 7psi . 4 stage is 9 and 5 stage are 9.5

      Depends how often im using it. So long as the needle end isn't dried up it should ve fine. Ive often put a bit of tape across the horns and tip end before but making sure ive cleaned the end fitst so no dried paint forms.
      Inside should be air tight so should take a while for it to dry.
