I love when you show the "bloopers". Makes Jenny seem more real.
I LOVE the blooper at the beginning. Show we are all human and all make mistakes.
I watched the beginning of this tutorial over 3 times, just to listen to Jenny's giggle! I am a beginner, on my sixth quilt using your tutorials. I love watching each one. Thanks Jenny
When Jenny makes a “ different” quilt using the same squares, we would love to see it too.
Lynn Harrell I have made the same comment, I wish she would use a different fabric than sample. I enjoy and so appreciate the tutorials but I love seeing a quilt in a different fabric choice. It changes the whole look.
Thank you for your suggestion, Lynn. We'll pass that along to our tutorial team. :)
I have to agree, I would love to see what the quilts look like using scrappy vs. non scrappy. That way would make it so simple to choose which way you would want to make your quilt. Thanks so much for all the wonderful tutorials. And I also love the “bloopers”, Jenny is so funny and so relatable.
I love Jenny, she is such a real person!!! No editing!!! Thanks so much Jenny for just being you!!!
I have made this quilt 4 times. It’s so quick and easy
Your tutorials are great ... you teach us how to make quilts the easiest way, but you also teach us all how to laugh at ourselves and with others. I make time to look at your tutorials daily, but when I'm down ... I make time faster. :) Please, keep the bloopers and family times in ... it just makes it a happy day.
I really want to make this pattern especially because it doesn’t require a background color! Please keep bloopers for extra fun and pro tips to super charge the content!
(Cue music) “We love you, Jenny. Oh, yes we do...”
It is a nice change to see a quilt with no background color!
@@cindymcfarland4686 --I agree....and it keeps it more affordable.
The bloopers are fun because Jenny is fun....
This will be my 35 year old son's St. Louis Cardinal pattern for his Christmas Quilt. Thank you Jenny for an easy block to be able to use the St Louis Cardinal logos and other baseball design material I have purchased.👏😊
A ruler tip I picked up watching Donna Jordan is using a weight near the top of your ruler. Helps a lot, especially with cutting longer pieces or mutiples.
Mary Lynch I do that now - helps so much
And I can also say that I lifted weights since I have to pick it up to lay it on the end. :)
I use a weight too. It really helps.
I use this tip and and I love it.
I do this also and it has helped me and improved my cutting greatly.
This is a great quilt for those layer cakes that are just too pretty to cut into small bits.
I agree, especially the bigger print ones like florals where you want to showcase the fabric.
I agree as well!
Great idea,thanks.
I used it for a baby quilt for a boy, just 16 blocks and a binding. It was simple, but stunning. Try it.
@@patriciaferrito9245 Oh how fun!! Now could you do it for a lap quilt? I'm guessing you're going to have like 30 or so???
This is a wonderful beginner quilt.
And then comes your Two step quilt. It was my very first quilt 😍🎉
Love your tutorials! Warm greetings from Hamburg/Germany
We're so glad you enjoyed this tutorial! Happy quilting!
Sometimes I rerun these quilt instructions. Cures my homesickness for being able to get up and go out. I don’t know why! Just does.
I watch this at least once a day because I love listening to Jenny laughing and her giggles, absolutely refreshing!!
I am going to start on this project just as son as I finish my project that I am doing now. Thanks Jenny!!!
You make the blocks like your falling charms quilt but more scrappy. I like it. I’ve made a falling charms quilt now I’ll have to make this one too.
Yes Jenny This will be one that even I can make, thanks.🙏Please share more beginner quilts 😊
Your cute little laugh is contagious.🥰♥️
This is a pattern the someone new to quilting could make. Simple pattern but so pretty, the beautiful fabric doesn’t hurt either.
I was watching this video early this morning in bed and was so tempted to head to my "studio" and start making it but I had to can tomatoes. But you better believe I'm making it this weekend. I"m going to check my 10" squares and make one. It may be easy and simple but it looks fabulous!!
Great...now another quilt I need to make! This looks super easy and fast though. Can't wait to cut up a layer cake.
using 5 in squares I think this would make a quick an easy baby quilt!!! I can't wait to give it a try! Thanks
I'd make the cuts at 1 1/4" if using 5" squares.
@@marylynch282 I tried 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" and thought the 1 1/2" looked better. The sashing strips didn't look as thin. Great use of charm packs!
@@shayshay1964 Thank you for posting which you preferred. I tried ironing different widths to see but just could not decide.
Loved the look of this quilt so much, I paused the video half way through, got the pattern and ran out the door to Joann Fabrics. I'm back and ready to get started! Thank you, Jenny.
The best part of early Friday morning is a cup of coffee and a new Jenny tutorial. Like the pro tips (and the blooper). This fabric is gorgeous. You're right this is a bit too easy but when a quick project is needed -- this is the ticket. The self-sashing is great. Thanks, Jenny Doan and the entire MSQC for making Fridays special and connecting the quilting world.
Jenny is only brilliant
I love these simpler blocks. It presents elegantly
I’m soo glad she’s left handed!!
It’s been very challenging for me to learn how to sew. My mom tried many different ways how to crochet..... never managed to do it. Bless her heart, she’s still amazing. But I found my niche in quilting. I love love learning from Jenny, she has taught me so much.... and she’s in the lefty club!!! Lol
I like the new format and the new set
Saving for my daughter, who wants to start sewing quilts!
I used a layer cake and a jelly roll, loved the much bigger size. Thanks MSQC!
What a great way to use up those layer cakes we think are too pretty to cut into. It looks like an easy, fun and relaxing quilt to do, but I couldn't make just one, I know I would be tempted to make at least two in different fabric lines. Enjoyed the video, printed out the pattern, thanks, Jenny!
I love how "real" you are! Thank you I am a beginner! Your a great teacher!
Liljekonvaljer är så vackra. Min älsklingsblomma . Dom var i min brudbukett, för 43år sen. Love you. ❤️
Wow! Beginner friendly plus this is a great pattern to showcase one of my favorite layer cakes that I didn’t want to lose too much of the pattern in ♥️
Love the colors! Jenny, you make me smile!
Jenny every since I retired I have been watching your videos I have always love to sew but never really have the time but now this is my fifth quilt I’ve been making from watching your videos my first one was the Ex’s & Oh’s and then I did you’ve got mail did 2 of those and my favorite one was Checkered Dresden plate that one turned out so pretty that when I look at it I can hardly believe I made it but it was all from watching your videos so thank you very much and K eep quilting
Thanks for the sweet message Connie, and happy quilting to you!
This is going to be my first quilt. Ordered fabric yesterday...can't wait to get started, and hopefully make more!
So fast and simple! I love it! Think Ill aka put the strips on the left side and bottom of the quilt too, just to finish it off, You're right tho, your way is perfect for any beginner. Good thinking!!!!
Thank you Jenny . Love the ground cover , it came out beautiful in blue n white , all different lengths of tone on white n blended in perfectly n wouldn’t ever notice they were some little white dots , some tiny wh.flowers , just mix up your leftovers for the sassing on each block .happy Quilter ,
I love her so much!!! Just so down to earth and love that laugh & giggle. Thanks Jenny!!
Been looking for a "first quilt" to teach my boyfriend's niece how to quilt. This is perfect! Not overwhelming.
I love this pre cut fabric.I cannot wait to get this layer cake. Thanks Genny, you are the best.
Love this ... so little waste of fabric💚
Jenny i just so appreciate your tutorial re building block quilt. Thanks for sharing. I follow you all the way from South Africa. You are an inspiration.
I’ve made three of these. So easy and really shows off pretty fabric.
Love the blooper.it tells me it happens even to PRO. LOVE YOUR WORK YOU ARE CLEAR EASY TO LEARN.THX.
Just beautiful. I want to make a keepsake quilt for my daughter as part of her high school graduation gift. I like this one.
Like the no waste on This block quilt.
I came to your shop, you were not there.
I could not believe we found Hamilton
Beautiful town, great job Jenny.
We hope you had a great trip Joanne! Thank you so much for coming!
Started this block immediately perfect timing with the pack sitting collecting dust lol thankyou so much 👍🇦🇺🤩
Yay! We can't wait to see your Building Blocks creation, Lynda! Be sure to share it with us on social using #msqcshowandtell. :)
I took a break for a while from quilting, but I’m so happy to be back watching your genius videos. Love the pattern. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have soooo many quilts, I've started making my tops into table cloths. This is a great pattern for a table cloth.
Hi Jenny and the rest of the MOSTAR team (has anyone ever called it that).... Thanks for another great tutorial.
During the end of the initial presentation, Jenny mentioned that if you keep the border the same, it can create another pattern. It is very reminiscent of the Falling Charms quilt that Jenny demonstrated years ago, and that was the first quilt I ever made. So watching this brought back some great memories.
Hopefully I'll be finally able to make it to Hamilton soon as I will be visiting Jeff City a lot for my new job and will have to make a weekend trip there.
Thanks again!!
Just got. my first layer cake! Can’t wait to try this! Thanks!
You are always such a joy to watch! The thumbnail blooper was great too! I especially love that you are left handed because it makes it so easy for me to follow. I get confused watching right handed tutorials - I guess I am directionally challenged lol. Anyway, loved this project and I think I will give it a try. Thank you!
Jenny, this is the best tutorial yet! Love it 🤣
I made this pattern using pink/gray flannel for my great niece -- it turned out great, and I completed the whole top in an afternoon!! Thanks for bringing us yet another fun tutorial!
I am making this pattern with the "Prose" line by Maywood and can hardly wait to get it done. I just love the look of this when it is done. Would love to have a peek at what the other quilt looks like with the matching sashings as I have a few more layer cakes waiting to go. Love your little blooper Jenny. Nice to know I am not the only one having a few oopsies. You made me smile.
what a simple but cute pattern... beautiful fabrics
Thank you so much Monda! We're so glad you enjoyed this tutorial!
THANKS FOR THE BLOOPER, it made my day. She is so adorable and fun!!!
Love this easy beginner quilt. I need a quick youth size quilts. For my grandbabbies and this is a good choice. Simple cut and piecing together . Thanks Jenny❤
Gorgeous! Love your cheerful attitude and simple approach! Thanks!
Easy easy easy easy !!!! Hands down I plan on making this quilt !!!! Thank you for sharing and caring 👍🏿👊🙌🏼👏🏿
I have a ruler that I bought a few years ago at an estate sale. The woman who used it was a quilter. To keep her ruler from slipping, she glued squares of sandpaper to the back. Works great! I really like this quilt a lot. I have a layer cake that is begging for this pattern!
Holy Cow, Jenny! You made my day...my nails fly off too. Loved it 🤣
Dear Jenny,
I really enjoy your tutorials and presentation style. Even in your most beginner tutorials I might learn a new trick. I've been sewing for over 60 years; never to old to learn something.
Sad to say, I do not care for Misty's presentotion style so I will not be watching any more of her videos.
Very much enjoyed my visit to Hamilton. Everyone was so friendly, polite, and/or helpful.
Keep safe.
Virginia in Ohio
I think this is a great pattern for a flannel layer cake. Shopping now!
I started making this then decided to do a what if! I sewed the squares together opposite is each other all the way around and cut them from corner to corner both ways then sewed them together, talk about a scrappy block. I love them. Thanks for all your ideas and for encouraging the what if process!
You are so genuine and real! Love all your videos! Love the blooper ;)
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment Dana! You are so sweet!
I go back to watch this tutorial just to listen to Jenny, an amazing person and she can laugh at herself.😂
Jenny, I simply love your tutorials! You always explain things so well and give some of the best tips. I am an experienced quilter and I still manage to learn from your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
I am really only a novice / beginner at this. But I think I could do this quilt. I love that it looks like it has sashing already on it. Thank you so much. Jan from Australia
I think I have some layer cakes that this will be perfect for! Sometimes you don’t want to cut them into small squares as you will lose the pattern you love. Thanks for more great tips! Thanks 🙏🏻😘
It's another quilt on the list!
Thank you, Jenny and msqc.
Thank you Jenny, you make quilting fun and easy!
I love this quick, easy and pretty pattern. It will be perfect to get some Christmas quilts made in a weekend. Thanks Jenny & crew!
Love it, and glad you found some glue. You ROCK!
So enjoy watching your fun videos. Thank you for sharing.
Oh SNAP! I love an easy quilt using layer cakes! I have so many...now, which one will I use? I think I'll send it and a matching pillowcase to the Red Cross in the Bahamas. Thanks, Jennyanydots...keep on tap dancing!
Thank you for spreading some quilty kindness to those in need.
Beautiful quilt, quick easy pattern. Love the additional “pro tip”. Thanks for all you do!

Loved the flying fingernail by the way!!!
I’m Making a quilt and I like the result until now! Thanks for teaching us this beautiful quilt!
Love this! My granddaughter of 11 yrs is making her first patchwork quilt and she wanted squares. Next could be this! Actually, I'm going to make this with a layer cake I bought from you!
my 13 year old granddaughter started with squares 2 years ago and had started blocks similar to this pattern it so easy
I think I know what to do with that one layer cake that I haven’t used yet... ! Thank you! Happy Quilting! 🧵💕
Lily of the valley my beloved mother’s. Favourite flowers. We had them growing in my parents garden. As well as roses. Peonies. Daffodils. tulips. Geraniums.
I love this Quilt, I need one more Quilt for Christmas gift and this is it.!! I can get this done in a weekend.
Love this quilt. Would be a perfect baby quilt.
I love this pattern, it will be perfect for a quilt for my grandson. One of my first orders from Missouri quilt was a layer cake ( that was 8 yrs. ago) to see a quilt for him and now I have the quilt pattern to use!! Love Missouri Star. Quilt!!
I have a few packs of the 10 in squares I have been looking at and wondering what to do with them they were way to pretty for ti y bits this is PERFECT thanks Jenny. I just finished the first pack now to see the rows
I keep watching the first few seconds of your video and tears from laughter are just rolling down my face! It is the MOST COMICAL VIDEO YOU EVER POSTED, Jenny! I needed a good laugh to start out my day.. this is a keeper. Now,,, on to watching the REST of your video. Got to see if that glue is holding on tight.
Iron clad glue after that! Glad we could get your daily giggle in today, Karleen!
I made this with a quite busy floral and put dark green sashing between each block and row. Really set it off.
Wow!!! This is a fantastic tutorial and a must do. Thank you so much Jenny! Hugs from Spain 🇪🇸
I got so tickled at your nail blooper! Loved it! Definitely leave those bloopers in going forward. This is a quick and easy design, would be great for my 12 year old quilting grandson to do! The pro tip was a nice new feature too! Can you show how to piece a backing as a pro tip in the future?! Most tutorials and patterns don't cover how to do that and it would be great for the beginners watching. As always, I enjoy tuning in to your tutorials; they are funny, informative and uplifting! ❤️ Jenny and the whole MSQC family!
What a great pattern which is so easy and turns out so cute! Thank you!
Thank you 😊 I’ll be doing this one to. Your such great fun to watch. Love your family to.
That is such pretty fabric. I had lilacs and lily of the valley in my wedding bouquet. I love the thumbnail blooper too ;) Thanks for keeping it real!
“The Lily of the Valley” was my dad’s favorite gospel song. ❤️
Awesome quilt. I’m going to have to check my stash for a layer cake. I love how it looks like each block is sashed but there is nothing to sash. Thanks for another great video!👍😀
In love with this method, Thank You ❤
Easy Peasy. Love it!
That intro! Hahhaaa.
I have been watching for years and you bring so much joy
