You should know that although the writers wanted to give Apple White her Sapphic character development they were not allowed to because angry parents and media CEOs suck. The kiss is never mentioned again, like it never happened... and then the series got canceled. It's disappointing and every day I just wish for a reboot, but anyways.
You should listen to Little Miss Perfect because eventhough it was basically adopted by The Owl House Fandom, I feel like it really reflects Apple's character, and it gives me some headcanon closure for the show :)

So when the Story Book of Legends was "destroyed". It actually wasn't. Raven set the legends free. Thus allowing the descendants of all the legends the ability to go against them. But that doesn't change the fact that these Legends have magical weight. So Apple Whites Legend is that she will be poisoned and a Charming will awaken her with a kiss. So a Charming has a magic inside themselves to counter the evil magic from the poison apple.
It just wasn’t daring charming because he wasn’t her Prince Charming. It was Darling charming as her Prince Charming and/or princess charming. Or should we say knight in shiny armor since if we remember correctly, darling is the white knight. It showed that in the way too wonderland part of ever after high.
@@Natalia_Nati_Nutella You’re right it wasn’t just Daring, but everyone believed it was him. Everyone believed that Daring Charming was Apple White’s Prince Charming along with them. You can see how the knowledge that he isn’t devastated him.
Epic Winter is still pretty good, it's just unfortunately placed as the finale due to the series closing rather quickly after it was released. There are great arcs for multiple characters, but they also try fitting in a lot at once, without really focusing on Apple and Raven anymore. If it was just another part of the series, it wouldn't have been received so poorly, it's just not quite the ending you would expect, but it was beyond the studio's control thanks to lower sales and the rise of Disney's Descendants at the same time.

I would also love if he actually reacted the shorts after he finishes that special, there’s still quite a lot of lore and story involved in there which is why matthew was so confused with some details and characters in the specials, so hopefully he sees them too eventually so he knows they aren’t plot holes

Agreed! The arc does feel weird as the last season, which was unfortunately because they canceled the show. Otherwise it is a great way to see the development of some characters, including Daring after losing his way and feeling like he has no purpose. It also has one of the best music videos imo. I just love that song. ^^
If they had continued the story after Epic Winter it would have definitely flowed better with more to come later on and if they had given it a bit more ep too.

No they straight up don’t ever talk about it. They talk about how it WASN’T Daring but not that it WAS Darling.
10:40 the shape looks like a heart to me. Darling is darings sister, meaning she would probably fill the role of someone’s Prince Charming. It’s likely that as long as they are both destined to be together, gender and sexuality doesn’t really matter. Like dexter likes raven but can’t really express it because it’s not destiny. The reason they react like that is because it wasn’t daring like everyone assumed.
There’s also a line early on that might be hinting at this. When goldie asks if apple and daring are saying yet, apple says “we have forever after to be together” implying she doesn’t really like him but will date him if it’s destiny. This could possibly be hinting she’s secretly lesbian but is denying it herself. Apple is a gay icon I love her everyone can fight me on this.
Also definitely watch more. I really like the rest of this series, and I feel you should form your own opinion!

The writers have confirmed that the scene was supposed to be gay but they had to make it look like CPR because apparently we only exist to accommodate conservatives. As someone who has suffered from comphet I would have absolutely loved Apple's story of realising her sexuality and the harm that hetero normality can do, but no the bloody thing got shelved and the final season didn't even feature Apple or Darling at all

Regarding the evil queen not being upset about being back in mirror prison, and instead is happy with raven is raven did something that could be framed as evil (fighting her own mother for “personal gain”) which, as stated in the books, was the only thing that made the evil queen really pay attention to raven.
The apple darling kiss: what must be remembered was dragon games came out before some of the bigger steps in lgbtq show representation, and Mattel’s main focus was selling dolls, not making steps towards representation

I would deffo watch Epic Winter for the character development but also check out all the shorts you skipped! Like the “Through the Woods” arc I think it’s called? It’s basically when Cupid and friends go on a fun trip to the fae forest but they get lost and run into a lot of shenanigans
No matter how evil the Evil Queen is... she will always love her daughter. The only thing that she wants more than take over the land is that Raven becomes like her and that is something that both elates and frustrates her at the same time, since she can see how Raven is like her, but still wants to be good. You know, the reason why Raven is good is her father, the Good King. He always incentivated Raven's kind side, despite her destiny.
Personally, I think "The Winter Special" or whatever it was called, been a while since I watched it lol, is worth watching. It wraps up a lot of characters character arcs in a pretty smooth way, especially Darings. Though I do believe the plot falls a bit, it's worth it for all the character moments. I think it was a pretty good send-off for the series, even if it wasn't supposed to be.
I actually liked Epic Winter, so I hope you will react to that too...and it kinda continue Daring Charming story in a way...

also to answer your question about the book being destroyed, at the end of way too wonderland it's said that the pages are all returned to the characters themselves so no one can steal their destiny by signing a page that isn't theirs. this doesn't mean that none of the stories can come true now, it just means the decision of whether or not these stories come true is up to the person that story belongs to.
The next/last chapter of Ever After High has a lot of great songs. I would say to watch the season just for that, but also Daring has some things happen to him that is hilarious.
Epic Winter does give some form of closure to the series. Daring gets his new destiny. Faybelle finally learns to deal with her own mess ups. We get to meet new characters and go to new places. Most of the people who watched it didn't like it because it still has a cliffhanger for more stuff, but I think it's pretty good.
She's not saying Raven is evil like her, she is manipulating her. She's saying your power have grown more than I thought, you have the capacity for evil!
ALSO!! pretty sure it was confirmed somewhere on Twitter that darling x Apple is cannon! it's supposed to be Prince CHARMING! her last name is charming, she could've easily taken the role (think about it, if it was just CPR that could wake her. anyone could've done it! even daring!)
Then later one of the creators also said that Unfortunately Darling isn't Apple's Prince(ess) Charming so there's no confirmation

I always thought that the explanation for why Darlings kiss worked was because a hero was supposed to kiss Apple, and Darling was always more of a hero than Daring.
Looking at it now it doesn’t seem to be as relevant as her being Apple’s destined love, but it’s still a nice headcanon I think

Okay here’s what you need to know about epic winter!
The focus is on background characters we see through the show accepting and changing their destinies which gives a lot of character growth to one background character in particular. I personally like it and think it’s a cute side story but if you want raven drama she’s not really in it. However, it’s still cute and I would recommend watching it :)

About Faybelle, she is the Daughter of the Evil Fairy......you know, the one that cursed the Sleeping Beauty because she was slighted by the king and queen of the kingdom. They can trust Faybelle because she is a lot like her own mom, if she feels slighted she will pull a the enemy of my enemy is my ally till all is done ... And the evil queen really ticked her off
One way people get around spoilers is that they request that their followers (who actually care and are decent people) comment fake spoilers so that you can’t tell the real from the fake
I loved how they revealed that Darling was the oldest Charming sibling instead of Daring. The spell only broke because she was the REAL next Charming

No Mathew she isnt. She doesnt always make the best decisions since she's not perfect, much like her daughter, but that doesnt make her evil.
I would recommend still watching, specially the winter arc because Daring has a big character development and it's amazing to see
The Charmings are a clan with a lot of members and it's not really known befoehand who will be whose prince. Daring made the assumptioion that hevwas apple's prince but it turns out that his destiny lies elsewhere. We still also don't know Dexter's destiny.

Apple and Darling CPR scene is SUPER interesting, and something (to me) that made the pathway for more open LGBT rep, now there is more LGBT rep in shows then I can count which is amazing, but at the time this was out, not many shows had that many and that was due to strict rules, so I always found it interesting on how they portrayed this kiss
Also I have to give credit to the Evil Queen and how she is soo camp it makes a full circle to empowering, with the rules that this universe follows, she really does fit the role so well
I hate how lesbians are represented in games and movies. In kid shows there is a lot potential for good lesbian stories.

They have a married gay couple, they have a married lesbian couple, they have non binary characters and they have some that I think are trans, I heard that they are but it isn't said in the show, tho usually you don't tell random people that you are trans so it makes sense. That show is just a wonder and the story is great too, I would really recommend watching it. I also think the creators confirmed that there are 3 characters that are together in a poly relationship.

1 - I think the Evil Queen is used to being defeated by now, knowing how most fairytales end and she might be more proud of the strength in Raven then what she actually does.
2 - I think Mattel wouldn’t let them say it explicitly that it was a true love’s kiss, even thought it was confirmed later.
3 - I think you should watch the winter special if you really enjoy Daring, because he’s arc is the more interesting one and there are some fun villains in the movie
You should continue watching the series the next season gives more lore “on the kiss” more so on why it didn’t work with a daring but still gives good information

I recorded Dragon Games on the tv when I was a kid to watch it more often. Than I saw your reaction, specificly the part where Apple gets poisen and I was like: Wait I don't remember that part🤔

My personal theory is it isn't about destiny nor sexual orientation, but about worthiness. Does anyone that took a second look at Daring thinks that he's THE Prince Charming in fairy tales? I think not! Out of the 3 Charmings only Darling has the quality of Prince Charming, hence her ability to break curses.
P. S. Do watch Epic Winter the last EAH movie, if you want to see some sliver of growth for Daring.

Epic Winter has great character arcs for a few of the characters so i think it would be worth reacting to
After the Dragon Games there's only the Epic Winter special, before the series got cancelled :c It's worth watching for Daring Charming's arc conclusion, which is great c:
I started listening to the audio book while working and something big thats different is right after rehearsing legacy day (ya know where raven asks what if i dont wanna sign?) there no focus on apple freaking out, but raven sneaks into headmaster grimm’s office to see the storybook of legends to see if she can get a glimpse of the story she will have to follow and ofc she doesnt BUUUT she finds out there was a girl in the past who didnt sign and searches to find out what happened to her and her sister, etc. and shares that info with apple (although it was after apple confronts raven sayinf she knew she snuck into grimm’s office..) but apple works WITH raven to find out answers.
Tho apple does still say raven should follow the story and that without a villain, there is no story. And when raven asks apple if she would say the same if SHE was villain, apple says she would because thats what her role would be. (Raven could also see apple truly embracing that is the roles were reversed so its nice to see that apple wanting to stick to the story more for the sake of the whole story and it felt way less self-involved as the “MY story needs to be perfect” vibe we get from the series)

I like that Darling is Apple’s charming. That twist allows for Daring to have a good redemption story line. Turns out Daring is the prince for Rosabella (daughter of beauty and the beast) and like the original story a very vain and cocky prince is cursed to live as a beast until he learns true humility and love. After the apple fiasco, Daring is able to learn and grow as a character from Rosabella even if she does come off as preachy sometimes. That’s the character development we needed for Daring.

You should definitely watch the rest bcs it goes a lot into what is happening to Daring after he is uprooted from his supposed story. Great character development. However, the story does not focus on Apple and Raven, but instead two newer characters and Daring

I recommend giving Epic Winter a watch, despite it being the last Series they made before they discontinued Ever After High, I enjoyed it because they remind you that all of these characters are still developing. It actually moves the story of a bunch of the characters' personal lives whether it's them having a full arc or short glimpses in what I assume would've set up for future arcs.
Btw there is only one more season/ story. Epic Winter. It touches on the whole Apple + Daring/Darling thing and then also give Daring some SERIOUS character development. It's also just fun ahah. I liked all the seasons tbh. Way too wonderland and Dragon Games were my top tho :>

ALSO Daring did input the code last episode. He cleaned the mirror and somehow put the code in before saying the password
Faybelle was able to unlock it bc she's a dark fairy (raven mentions earlier that the mirror is fueled by dark fairy magic, so she couldn't crack it), and she used her magic to unlock it (she rhymes and cheers to cast big spells). she didn't know the password.
they very briefly mention the password before (by snow white) but it flies over your head if you don't know it's gonna be a problem later. daring "polished" it before saying capture daring which conveniently unlocked it, and darling i have no clue lol. must've bumped against smth in her purse ig?
Epic Winter isn't super important, especially with how Dragon games ended, but I think I speak for everyone when I say please watch it. The new characters are cool, a certain person gets a redemption, we get new magic, and we get a cool adventure. So please watch it. Have a great day.
I mean, I underestand those who say that after here is not as exciting because the story doesn't evolve around Raven and Apple from this point on, but I still really liked the Winter story, and love Daring's character development with Rosabella. Besides, he has already seen this far, it's only fair if he sees the rest of the story, in my opinion
I think that the Evil Mueen might be more inclined to think that Raven, due to how she had been scheming at the end of it and the whole disagreement between her and Apple during the Dragon Games, will eventually get onto a darker path herself, so she might be waiting to pounce on a low moment? That was how I saw it though. Also I'm so sad this show got discontinued 😭

I would watch Epic Winter! It’s more of a side story to Ever After High because it doesn’t have most of the main cast of characters, but it’s still super interesting and fun to watch!
I remember "Epic Winter" being really good when I was younger. It had some great character development and character relationships, so I would love it if you gave it a shot!
