Fun reaction! I agree that it felt a little filler, especially some in the Riverlands, but maybe it's going somewhere that will pay off, and we'll go back to all these scenes and see all the seeds that were planted. I'll certainly need to rewatch anyway, because I had to watch on my phone at the airport during flight delays 😭 So nice to meet you at WoTCon by the way! 😊
ah yeah def want a rewatch then. i waited til I got home so I could do the reaction, but avoiding spoilers for a whole day was NOT FUN! And it was so nice to meet you too!
I was thinking Aegon was way more injured that they showed in the final scene, like I was getting Viserys vibes at first and Alicent I think was also. Aemond definitely took an opportunity that Daemond did not with the fratricide (attempted?), but then again Aegon was(is) such a terrible king and Aemond is so focused and capable it was only a matter of time. I'm also glad we got to seem some more of Alys and her influence on Daemond with their chats and the screams from the distant genocide. It makes me wonder if she does have some kind of magic. In fact this show could use some low key magic like the Red Witch used in GoT, they should have leaned just a bit more into that. Like introducing ideas where the only way to really battle dragons is with old covert magic.
MY GOD YES! I so SO miss the 20-24 episode seasons! I also miss not having to wait 2 years between seasons. I don't how we've all just come to accept this
Love Daemon as a character but I am over the “I want to be king” whining. I think that was the drag for this episode for me. Loved the episode overall though.

Daemon wants to be King to get back at those who made fun of him for not having EYEBROWS
Eyebrow blindness is a real problem 😅

The Daemon plot dragged down an otherwise enjoyable episode for sure
