Thank you for making this video. I thought the information was very well presented. I found most valuable how you compare and contrast, it makes it stick and definitely more enjoyable to watch and listen. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
An important item that was lacking was the protein content which differentiates transudative and exudative. Transudative will have proteins levels < 25g/L and exudative will have protein levels > 35g/L.
Thank you so much for making this content 🙏 Your explanations are concise and simple & are helping me to gain such a better understanding of the topics. The way you present the info is way better than my uni lecturers!! 😄
Sir what do you mean by no pleural fluid is evident and the other one the osseous structure are unremarkable is that good or bad of my plain ct chest result i hope your response sir 🙏
I've watched Eddie's lectures since I was a newer nurse, to now a seasoned nurse. Whenever I feel like work had knocked me down, which has been quiet often for the past year, I would listen to Eddie talks, and it would calms me, as odd as it sounds. Thank you for all you do for all of us nurses.
Wow, thank you so much for such an awesome comment Stevo! I'm glad to be able to provide such valuable help for so many and great to hear that these videos have been such a help for you. Hang in there. It gets better with time, but it truly is a never ending journey of learning.
@@thepharmacistacademy I haven’t seen that. Typically pleurodesis is done either with a thoracotomy or administered via chest tube, both of which would not require a thoracentesis.
How fast should this be drained? Without causing cavity to fill with air, which creates another challenge. And the pain factor to the patient not only as the lung reexpands, but in worst cases recollapses.
I wish I had the time. I definitely had thought about it. I am going to be working on some online courses "soon" but perhaps at some point in the future :)
Misplaced feeding tube caused death of my husband and no one would attest to this, only one caregiver who pointed it out to me. Sad state in this world!
Eddie, can parasite infections cause pleural effusion? I ask because filariasis or schistosomiasis can plug the lymphatic system. Might this lead to a chylothorax? I believe that Paragonimus infections can also cause pleural effusions if I'm not mistaken.

Great video. Question, would you ever do a combination of medication plus thoracentesis ?
Talking about for pleurodesis or something else?
@@ICUAdvantage yeah for pleurodesis

What are preventions or treatment to take for VERY MINIMAL RIGHT SIDED PLEURAL EFFUSIONS.
Awesome video!!! What about the definition of aspiration pneumonia? Are there videos about this topic? Thank you!
I don't currently have a video on that topic. Perhaps in the future. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you
You're welcome

Need to make a book!

So sorry to hear about that with your husband 😥

Thanks! Just wondering how the rapid re-expansion can cause pulmonary edema?
Can you do troubleshooting of the chest tube system?
I think I cover the majority of things in the next lesson thats releasing Monday.

Honestly, I'm sure there more things than just the general things discussed. I can't say I've personally seen that one tho!
👏👏
Ty
