Be honest to switch to the run game when you are down 28-7 was insanity, we need to keep ogbanna and you just gave up on the passing game when we need those to have a better chance of him not transferring. Passing should have been the focus especially being down 28-7, make it make sense

Agreed EJ is a channel hero so far he has been the only bright spot at qb in our 5 years and it’s not even close. Buffalo as a team hasn’t showed up in the big games. Sad to see Colson go out like this
Bralon Staley was the actual savior of the offense. It was Staley blowing by these MAC corners with ease. So many wide open deep balls, go back look and pay close attention to Staley. A decent QB can make many of those throws. Yes he was better than the previous QB's but he was far from a savior

@@thespongemonkeya lot seemed to happen after he applied some of the upgrades. I think he was benefitting before because of some adjustments to coverage were not applied. But also I think some of it is placement passing is somewhat broken or he and I just don’t know how to use it. I had to change to classic recently because I got so tired of how placement never seemed to work well. Seemed to always work the way the cpu needed it to. For example my offensive player had defender beat by 5 yards but then do a touch pass that is way under thrown and defender makes crazy play to intercept. This stupidity seems to happen less with classic.
@NoobGamer-46-i9d absolutely. He's never going to get significant playing time at Buffalo. He's not in line to start and he's a gadget/package QB at best in the current offense
The pass rush is fine (and perhaps a bit too dominant at times, considering how much Mack's school sack streak was beaten by...) but the secondary shouldn't be this bad. CPU QBs will always have ridiculous accuracy in these series, yet stretches like the past few weeks are too much. It's rough to say considering that the team is still in a good position, and giving them an edge may feel wrong, but I do think it's time to seriously consider some slider adjustments. An 83 overall shouldn't start out with something crazy like going 23/25 I don't have strong feelings about playbook changes (except for ditching that Tight End screen. if you could only make one change, that would still be my wish. Nobody is explosive enough to make that anything more than a play where you can only throw to the check down), but would like to see some changes to the running game. Big runs like Maier's have always been rare, with the long ones usually feeling like they're in that 10-20 yard range. The increased emphasis on scrambling at the end of the year was nice as well. Depending on the QB, using more of those, options, and the pistol plays that used to be the Pacheco package would be nice. Some new ones should probably be added as well to match whoever the next starter is As for the series as a whole, I don't mind watching more of a struggle. But at this point, I think it's the best time to speed up these seasons similarly to those on the second channel. The pace here should be slower than those series, especially at the beginning of the year with the increased roster turnover, yet barring disaster the team is clearly in the upper echelon of the G5. Single game episodes are still cool, but I think they should be somewhat more situational, like for the season opener.
Sad way to end the season, but considering how most games were too close for comfort there was always a feeling that at some point the door would slam shut, it just happened very late in the season. A lot of commenters are laser-focused on Colson's responsibility for the debacle, but, although he certainly didn't cover himself in glory this season, the entire offense kind of stalled after the big jump last season. The only established starter that felt like a better version of himself was good ol' Leon Dingle, and it will be sad to see him go. Speaking of which, that TD was a nice teaser of what Maier will do to defenses next year. Looking forward to it. Going back to the QB situation: the Pacheco offense was never going to be a thing, nor it should have been. Assuming Ogbonna leaves (and honestly, even if he stays) the presumptive heir to EJ should be Ray Elway, who's still something of a mystery. Here's hoping that Cane doesn't somehow unperson him in the offseason. The front four of defense will probably lose a bit of bite with Riser-Pressley leaving, but the secondary is the big issue: everyy time the opponent had decent protection they were exposed. Definitely need more time developing in the MAC, jumping to the Big 10 would be too much, too soon.
Dang these last two weeks have been hard to watch. The end of this season has been a huge referendum on EJ Colson, it’s clear he should have been switched out way earlier in the season.
Can’t wait for the off-season. Hopefully Ogbonna doesn’t leave cause I think his development will accelerate him to be far better than Colson in his first season. Wish I could tune into the stream but I’ll catch the VoD.
I would like to see you create a playbook both offensive and defensively that fits the players you have. I do believe that if you really look at your o-line you will see where their strengths are and that will help you determine what play book to go with on offense. Defense should be dictated by Line backers and D-line. Corners and safeties are always the same. If you have great D-ends that can shed blocks well and create havoch, then you need linebackers that can cover with speed for example.
Noticed you had user coverage at 45 instead of 50 on your last slider discussion. Might be why teams are carving up your secondary. You have solid players in the secondary so no way QBs should be completing almost 90% against you
4:48 Holy cow, that's the most incredible video game interception I've ever seen! That's supposed to be how an outfielder catches a baseball with his glove, not how a defensive back snatches a football with one bare hand!
Playing Pacheco that long actually irritated me. He’s not the future guy and he’s just not good. Another game with classic EA BS (first pick and not picking up the fumble).
Especially considering the passing incentive to keep Ogbonna, starting Pacheco felt like the only wrong move. At least if you leave in Colson there’s a chance he throws for 250-300+ yards and makes ogbonna happy
These last two games showed the reality of this team. Got very lucky to go unbeaten with some crazy last minute wins and comebacks. Put yourself in those positions enough and the losses will come eventually
Hey cane something I have been implementing into my CFB dynasty’s has been going through the other teams and encouraging transfers of players I think should transfer from those teams, because deal breakers is the only way guys transfer and I’ve come to realize the grading system is kinda flawed. And don’t worry about it making coaches retire when you hit create new character instead of retire it doesn’t retire the coach. This is just something to think about to make the transfer window a lot more lively like in real life. The only flaw is that the encourage transfers is at the end of the off season so those guys will not play that year and be in the portal the next offseason
Honestly was sort of glad in the end that this version of the Bulls didnt reach rhe mountaintop. Too often they had no offense outside of hoping the cpu would press and leave a streak open. Felt like a cheap way to achieve our goals. Hoping we dont fall into the same trap next year with Trejo and focus more on Maier and the short/intermediate passing game. Go Bulls!
I think the passing offense would benefit a lot from reading the pass rush and adjusting the protection more going forward. So many times, it’s looked like that extra second could be found by stepping up or rolling behind a slide adjustment
Should’ve done it last year, TBH. Pacheco has exciting potential as a gadget player but he’s unlikely to improve in offseason training heading into his fifth year, even if his position is changed before then.
Offense really took a step back this game 😭 definitely need a more dynamic passing game and some quick hitters in the future… being a one trick power run team is not gonna cut it.

Gotta be able to win in the margins or this team will never leave the MAC

Seems you are running into the same thing I was a couple months ago where the cpu qb goes OP a lot and completes close to 90% of passing. It doesn’t seem to happen all the time to you and still happens to me for a small stretch of games only. I had to restart my dynasty it was so bad a couple months ago. Also, are you trying to get ogbonna to transfer for story purposes:)? Thought it was strange you went with the running qb when you were down a lot and needed to air out for season stats.
I haven’t had this happen to me then again i do have mt adaptive AI set to aggressive and i feel like the QB plau and defense is fairly good, Elite players are elite. Also might have something to do with his XP sliders, i have a set pulled that is supposed to be ultra realistic with limiting the amount of 90+ players due to the upgrading system
@@ikw2828 mind sharing that slider set. I wasn’t sure if the sliders would help that much since most improvements occur during the offseason and was always told xp sliders only affect in season improvements. I just use default and pretty sure cane does too
The year is 2092, the Buffalo Bulls continue to impress in the regular season… however they have lost 65 straight MAC championships with 65 straight dissapointments in the Camellia Bowl. (Now rebranded the Ground Beef Bowl). Time is a flat circle, we’ll see you next season Bull fans 😢
SPOILER WARNING: What a sad end to the season. Honestly kinda happy though- would haven felt weird to already be ready to move out of the MAC. Happy to see the seniors one last time but it’s definitely a changing of the guard next season. Maier js going to be incredible.
If this was real life Coach Cane would definitely be the subject of hot seat rumors already. Back to back great regular seasons concluded with back to back dreadful collapses in the MCC and a low-tier bowl game is not a good look to have.
cane needs to get his qb play and defensive playcalling to a new level or the program will never be able to elevate itself. you can have a team full of four and five stars but if the user is playing badly it will not matter
Watched 2 quarters and realized that you were intentionally trying to lose. It stops being fun when you do that. Been a fan for a long time. Getting sick of that.
Well, this team always did feel like a paper tiger. It’s a shame to see some of our favorite seniors go out like this, and I think the Bulls are due for some regression, although the silver lining is that their graduation will help the program in terms of Pro Potential grade; you’ve got two surefire NFL Draft picks in SRP and Tyler Hilton, with Bennett, Staley, and Fuimaono all having a chance to be late-rounders. (Leon Dingle probably doesn’t merit a pick at 85 OVR, but he has “fan-favorite UDFA” written all over him, and that could be an interesting side-story to pursue in Madden Superstar Mode… just a thought.) Here’s my take: It’s time to overhaul the playbook on both sides of the ball. Retool the offense to be more of a power-run scheme. You’ve got a terrific feature RB in Maier, who looks poised to break out next year. You’ve got a Mack truck playing at FB. Your three best OL are going to be on the interior (Camarda, Burns, and Dorian Henery), with one of them most likely replacing Hilton at C. And you’ve got uncertainty at the QB position (will Ogbonna transfer?) and a weak WR corps (there are 4-stars coming in, but the only reliable option right now is Trejo). This seems like a good season to start running the Pistol as a base, with plenty of split-back and full-house sets- let Treggs be a road-grader for Maier and Ojinnaka, with the occasional designed keeper to take advantage of the speed that all of your QBs possess. Meanwhile, you’ve got to get away from the Nickel. The personnel you have are getting picked apart in coverage every time you play soft zone and torched every time you play man. But if you revert to base 4-3 or even change it up and go for base 3-4, you’ll have an extra guy in the front 7 to send at the QB, generating more consistent pressure than you did this season. I think you’ve neglected your linebackers for too long- you haven’t had a really good one since Nolan Ziegler- and it’s time you got them more involved on defense. Building that position group up will help you stop the run and create havoc against the pass. As always, excited to see where the series goes next. Heading into year 6, all real-life players will have graduated, so we’re playing with a truly clean slate… should be fun to watch!
Yeah, the team is a great MAC team, but you play some of the better teams in the postseason and you get smoked. Just got to keep bringing in the 4-star players. Ogbonna is going to make a difference I think.

Never been this early. Hope everyone has a great day! Keep up the great work Cane
4th really is early for a Cane video so I gave a like 😊
So since there’s a 75% chance that Ogbanna is gone does that mean that Ray Elway is the projected starter? And has he ever even got playing time
6:44 my favorite run of the series!!
Congrats. You're Rich Franklin (from a salty Penn State Student/Fan)
This team has a special place in my heart.
He is definitely trying to get the QB to transfer for story telling. I hate when he does that crap.
@@ikw2828 mind sharing that slider set. I wasn’t sure if the sliders would help that much since most improvements occur during the offseason and was always told xp sliders only affect in season improvements. I just use default and pretty sure cane does too
@@14bface yeah just look up Matt 10 cfb 25 sliders and then if you want the XP sliders just look up cfb 25 realism xp sliders
Colson pulled a Carson Beck and tanked his draft stock
The year is 2092, the Buffalo Bulls continue to impress in the regular season… however they have lost 65 straight MAC championships with 65 straight dissapointments in the Camellia Bowl. (Now rebranded the Ground Beef Bowl). Time is a flat circle, we’ll see you next season Bull fans 😢
Need to at least win the Mac twice before you move to a new conference
SPOILER WARNING:
What a sad end to the season.
On the flip side bringing Buffalo to ranked in a few seasons would be a massive win for a team with few expectations
?? For the MAC, no shot. If anything he’d get calls for other HC jobs. If he was the HC of a top team…… then maybe
In real life he’d be Pj Fleck or Cincinnati Brian Kelly
Is this series on heisman difficulty? I forget
cane needs to get his qb play and defensive playcalling to a new level or the program will never be able to elevate itself. you can have a team full of four and five stars but if the user is playing badly it will not matter
Felt the pain behind that hand clap at 16:48😭
Say goodbye to Ogbonna and start pounding the rock
Watched 2 quarters and realized that you were intentionally trying to lose. It stops being fun when you do that. Been a fan for a long time. Getting sick of that.
Colson was a good qb for most of his college career but really pooped his pants in big games. We’ve seen all we need from Pacheco
(Leon Dingle probably doesn’t merit a pick at 85 OVR, but he has “fan-favorite UDFA” written all over him, and that could be an interesting side-story to pursue in Madden Superstar Mode… just a thought.)
Here’s my take: It’s time to overhaul the playbook on both sides of the ball.
If David Ogbanna stays, I think you should give him a single digit number
I found dynasty mode an unplayable, shallow mess, but you actually made it interesting to watch.
This is the most accurate thing of all time
Yeah, the team is a great MAC team, but you play some of the better teams in the postseason and you get smoked. Just got to keep bringing in the 4-star players. Ogbonna is going to make a difference I think.
Hate to see EJ go out like that
What happened to the screen passes and bubble screens their defense played off on your wrs
I'm not even sure if this Buffalo team was in the CUSA if they would ever see a bowl game again...
Or the Sun Belt. If they were in the American they might go winless in-conference.
dawg not AGAIN 😭
You just need to spam the oprion offese with maier and ogbanna next season
