These Inflation Figures Are Very Misleading.

- The latest inflation figures are out, and the UK government is celebrating hitting their 2% target. But the headline figure is far from the whole story.

Cheers Damien. You always help to cut through the government's bullshit they spin us!
Every crash/collapse/inflation/recession provides an equal market opportunity if you are properly prepared and knowledgeable. I've seen people amass up to $800,000 during crises and even with ease in a bad economy. Someone has undoubtedly become extremely wealthy as a result of the crash.
I agree that there are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy or market condition, but such executions are usually carried out by investment experts or advisors with experience

I looked her up on the internet and discovered her website, which I browsed and read to learn more about her credentials, academic background, and career. She has a fiduciary duty to me to act in my best interests. I scheduled an appointment to utilize her services.
its also quite annoying that both Sunak and Hunt keep referring to a drop in inflation as being the same as a tax cut.
🙄 sheeeple
One of the aims behind inflation is to push everyone into a higher tax bracket, stealing a higher proportion of their income, slowly but surely.
Prices are still rising haha and 4.7% is still an alarming rate. The sheeple need to understand this. Finance and basic economics needs to be taught at schools.
It’s technically is a tax cut on your savings
@@thomasowen1720 My saving are earning more.
Came for the inflation raw facts. Stayed for the cheese banter 🧀
Hell yeah!!!
Politicians are like that guy in the office who doesn’t really do anything special but has un exhaustive self confidence in themselves and know how to self-promote beyond their skill level.
Managers then yea 😂
While pulling in $$$$
Eggs, ain’t that the truth,I used to work for Pfizer and an other big corporates and seen so many times people who made a career out of being mediocre( although generally poor, sounds like the Shipping Forecast) but by god they new how to self promote and sound bite!!!
The dunning kruger effect is real, and EVERYWHERE!
At the beginning of COVID I struggled to spend the minimum £40 order for my Tesco delivery, now three and a half years on we don't eat as well, but struggle to keep the weekly spend under £60. Bringing inflation back down to 2% will not make my weekly food bill £40 again.
U need deflation of 19% . reverse gear
Prices will never go back to where they were in the past. As inflation cools, it just means prices will still keep rising, just slower. What you are asking is negative inflation. The last time this happened was during the great depression in the 1930s. Instead, you want your income go up at least the same pace with inflation, else you are getting poorer.
@@kejuu6887 Wage growth is like throwing fuel on the fire for inflation. The reality is mass redundancy, closures and a collapse is the only cure to inflation. Scorched earth. QE is dead and the world never recovered from the crash of 2008. The chickens have come home.
Tesco is expensive try aldi.
@@kejuu6887 I'm not asking for negative inflation, just pointing out that past year's increases are baked in. My so called "Gold Plated" pensions rise with inflation, but they are capped at 5% and 3%, I'm getting poorer.
I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my portfolio for retirement. I'm seeking to invest $200K across markets but don't know where to start.
It's really hard to beat the market as a mere investor. It's just better if you invest with the help of a professional understands the market dynamics better.
I agree, having a brokerage advisor for investing is genius! Amidst the financial crisis in 2008, I was really having investing nightmare prior touching base with a advisor. In a nutshell, i've accrued over $2m with the help of my advisor from an initial $350k investment.

I would take that sponsorship
Thanks for delivering the news in layman's terms for us 😊
I am just glad you find the videos useful!
Well said Damo. Cheddar all the way!
Always appreciate these videos thank you
I still struggle to fathom that we’ve seen 15-20 years of irreversible price level rise in the space of 2 years. I’m 20. What a time to be entering the workforce 😅
Inflation is nearer 20-30% for most people, factor in crap wage rises and it's worse than last year
Pay rises are 7.8% on average and most peoples inflation is around 7%
Another diamond of a video Damo, particularly at 4:48 - had me in creases. Also love the pod with you & T
Epic ending Damo- love it!
It's absolutely mind boggling how it's possible that reality is being spinned the way it is by government and media and that they simply get away with it...😢
I know nothing about trading /investment and I'm keen on getting started. What are some strategies to get started?
As a beginner, it's essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. I'm guided by Fergus waylen a widely known crypto consultant
in my case Fergus waylen has assisted me in doing that effectively, I'm not an expert so I lack experience in investment strategies, I work and my consultant handles the rest.
know him and I have also been trading with him, he's such an amazing man with good skills,
Alright thanks for the recommendation, but how do I reach him?
look him up on
How do you know when a politician is lying ?
When they open their mouth.
Brilliant…love your stuff 👏👍!
Thank you Damien for your balanced data driven review of the inflation situation.
Great video with great humour, love it! Easy to understand and very informative. Can't believe I almost fell for government's spin regarding lower inflation... it did seem very unlikely to me they have achieved this and now I know... thanks to you. Keep up the good work you are doing!
Thank you 👍🏻
thanks for the video
Thanks so much for you content Damien, recently it's always been exciting when Snoop pops up to say the inflation rate change and I know you're going to come in and break it down in real terms!
Cheers Damien, appreciate all you do!
It is my pleasure
HAHAH - DID WE MENTION DAVIDS BACK, I laughed out loud at that part!
Glad I came across your channel a few weeks ago. Production value is good and you are investing in that with your video editor, but it is good content and timely content that has me sending clips to my mates when they ask me stuff. Scary times, but channels like yours are giving analysis where the main players are just re hashing press releases.
Really good commentary. Great work putting complex figures into layman's terms.
Great analysis. I do like this guy. Very honest
Incredible video Damien
Brilliant video Damien 🙌
Damo, thank you for Cheddaring a light on this matter.
Another great vid Damo!! I have put parmesan on toast and its nowhere near as good as cheddar cheese on toast :)
So at the weekend I dressed up like Super Mario and went to Amsterdam, had the weirdest argument with a tall drunk fella about cheese...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another great video!
Thanks again for a great video clearly wiping away the main stream gaff
Thanks Damien, I seen the headline today but had my doubts - this has definitely provided more clarity, keep up the good work
Fab video as always Damo. Between you, Ramin and Sasha you guys make these things make total sense 😊
Great video Damo. Absolute class delivery, clear and concise. Best videos for financial information. Keep up the great work!!
Very good video - just found your channel - great work
Hello back! the critical question is who won at pool?
Thank you. Liked and subbed.
Quality channel.
Damien enters the room, inflation starts sweating.
‘Try putting Parmesan on toast’ I always come back to this channel for insights such as this
Passionate, informative and a dash of humour. Cheers fella, still love your videos.
You smashed this video mate
Great info as usual, btw I live in Italy and the cheese is overrated so is their wine 😬.
I’ve watched this video 3 times now because it was really entertaining. Top Job Dai
Wonderfully informative video, Damo!
Glad it was helpful!
Great vid Damien. Btw, Wensleydale beats cheddar any day!!! Bon appetite
Inflation is massive in Australia too.
Correct on many many things, and absolutely spot on about cheddar. Cheers Damien!
Good informative video, thanks, didn't enjoy the story of the cheese but the financial analysis was spot on 👍
Great video and one of the best endings I've seen! Subscribed.
Another brilliant video making it easy for everyone to understand, cheers Damo
Great work as usual Damien. If I got the data right, the inflation drop is due mostly to energy prices drop, which are influenced by the market. However, the rising housing cost (like rents and mortgages) that area also affecting inflation are a direct consequence of BOE decision of raising rates.
So the BOE says that they are rising rates to kick inflation out of the front door, but as a side (?) effect they are bringing it back from the window with the rise in OOH. Am I right?
PS: I am Italian and I like Cheddar, but Parmesan is overall better 😜
This man spits truth!
You said this would happen, and here we are! Another fantastic video Damien
Hi Damien,
Thanks for getting this out so quick!
What are people’s thoughts on what happens next? If owner occupiers housing costs increases as a consequence of higher interest rates it feels like inflation will go up but BoE can’t increase further as then that further increases housing costs inflation. How do you beat this cycle? Lower interest rates? Do nothing for 2-3 years
Frustrating that the US doesn’t have this issue due to 30 year mortgages.
Simple truths explained succinctly, well done 👏
Great video as always!
"Hello, welcome" :)
Did I mention David is back was a great line 👏👏
It’s weird that it is actually true!
So should I wait till next summer (at least) to open a new food business?
Never seen your videos before but this was very good
Any update on HMRC fractional shares? Thanks
Your not wrong about cheddar!
Great video Damian, as italian I can say we are passionate about cheese. Btw inflation in Italy is 1.7% for October 23
We’ve got more cheese than yaw 😂
@5:20 Looks like you were running on Duracell or Energizer that day! Now it's zinc carbon 🙂Inflation 😞
Statistics don't lie but statisticians do.
Love it… “Try putting that on toast…” 😂😂😂
Very helpful, clear and easy to understand. also Cheddar all the way! ;-)
Thanks! 😃
That cheese is always cheap at Sainsburys. Usually around £3.
All good and well, but parmigiano is a thousand times better than cheddar (Italian living in the uk since 2015) ahahhhaa
Great video !
🤣
👍 Hello fellow Mancunian look forward to your videos
I have just filled out the application form! Hope it's not too late!
"Did we mention David's back" 😂
Just feel tired with constant BS and fudging..it's not easy but really..love the clarity, I'm interested and struggle..good work😊
You’ve got future as a weatherman 🤘
Damien, very erudite, great presentation style and so very logical👍
I wondered why the energy companies had started pushing their fixed rates hard
Damien, thank you. Thats all I have to say.
ALSO cheddar is da bomb.
Also Hunt last year said that it was halving core inflation in a year, and core inflation is much higher and not close to half.
These things need to be explained, shame the main stream media don’t do it very well.
Thanks for picking this up.
Unfortunately we have leadership that will do anything to make themselves look better. It's not just economy its almost every aspect of governance. Education, housing, NHS, etc
This generation of leaders from both main parties are in politics for their own gains and that's it!
They will deflect the main issues by blaming the boat people and other external conflicts.
Final point, excellently made! (Other points well made too!)
Cheddar is for nurishment, Parmesan for enjoyment.
Hi Damien, unrelated to this video but what do you think people who have invested in platforms which do fractional shares should do? Sell our shares and transfer to another platform or wait, and if so, wait how long?
I am not selling my shares and I hold a lot on platforms that would be affected. I will wait for updates and not rush to any decisions
Gouda review. Sorry, bit cheesy.
100% agree with you, feels a bit like we’re being treated like wallies. Thanks for helping see through the crap 😁
Extra mature cheddar is the best (type of cheddar). Parmesan is also delicious
Spot on Damien, on the government's lies!
However, on Cheddar cheese, as an Italian, I'd like to express my opinion. It's important to note that taste preferences are subjective, and what someone considers "better" can vary. However, I can provide some general characteristics that people often appreciate in Parmesan compared to Cheddar.
Aging process: Parmesan cheese typically undergoes a longer aging process than Cheddar. The aging contributes to a more concentrated flavor and a crumbly texture. Some people enjoy the complexity and depth of taste that comes with a longer aging period.
Umami richness: Parmesan has a distinct umami flavor, which is often described as savory and robust. This umami richness can enhance the overall taste of dishes. Cheddar, while flavorful in its own right, may not have the same depth of umami.
Texture: Parmesan is known for its granular and crumbly texture, making it easy to grate or shave over dishes. This texture can provide a different mouthfeel compared to the smoother and creamier texture of Cheddar. The granular texture can also add a pleasant crunch to certain dishes.
Versatility: While both Parmesan and Cheddar are versatile cheeses, Parmesan's intense flavor can make it a standout ingredient in certain dishes. It is often used to add a bold kick to pasta dishes, salads, and soups, whereas Cheddar might be preferred for its meltability in things like grilled cheese sandwiches.
Again, it's crucial to remember that taste is highly subjective, and some people may prefer the milder taste and creamier texture of Cheddar over the bold and crumbly nature of Parmesan. It ultimately comes down to personal preference and the specific culinary application.
Taking credit for falling inflation - disingenuous
Food inflation doesn’t include membership prices. So many people have a food inflation rate lower than the headline figure
Damn straight, cheddar is better. Another great video, thank you
Never doubt Cheddar my friend.
In Cheddar we trust.
Another great video. Politicians claim to know what they are doing with the economy, but from what I can see they have no more idea ( and sometimes less idea) than the rest of us. Frightening
Fab vids👍
6 months ago I started hopping on one leg for 30 mins a day, and now the inflation numbers have halved. You're welcome everyone.
This is equally as convincing as the government's claim.
Bang on about cheese, cheddar is way more flexible, you can have it in sandwiches, on toast, on pasta bakes, by itself for a snack
