That's a beautiful F8 Kaplan...Touche'! 70's enduro's were easy to ride..Comfortable and would go anywhere in the woods..I grew up in central New York in the Appalachians.Awesome growing up in the Northeast...The best trails...
Nothing like the sound, smell, and feel of a 2-stroke!
Yes, I know. Wish I’d kept the F7.
Had one of these and really liked it, wish I kept it. Classic. These things were always jetted way too rich from the factory to keep people from melting their piston, but a lot never went back to the dealer to get a smaller main jet. Probably needs to go down 2 to 4 sizes. Once I did that with mine it really woke it up.
Ah.....🙂. Used to have one back in 1985 when I was a senior in high school. Had a big bore kit on it and could tractor 🚜 up hills that the new bikes had trouble with and go 80 mph on the freeway (I was 6'5, 220). Good times 😎.
Grew up on that bike, would love to have it!!!!
Love classic vintage bike ❤
2 strokes 🙌🏼
I had one of these when I was in the Navy, drove it 100 miles a day round trip from Newark DE to the Naval hospital in Philly. Would meet up with friends every other week to go trail riding. Between April and September put 12,000 miles on it when it was traded in on a XS650 Yamaha. The dealer did not believe the mileage was correct. My only complain is as good as this bike would ford streams it did not like the rain, a new coil fixed that.
thats the bikes used in the 1971 film hot chrome and leather its one of those b grade biker movies that came out in the late 60s early 70s its streaming on tubi i watched it yesterday
I was a Yamaha guy , 175 2 stroke enduro , Red 🇺🇸⚓️
Sweet looking dt 175mx was an amazing bike
Neat 2 stroke , nostalgia 1971 👍wow 🏍
I bought & restored a 1975 Kawasaki 350 Bighorn a few years back. The bike was a blast to drive around town, but I was constantly getting cut off by cars. Took a while to figure it out, but I realized that they didn't see me. Not much of a profile to these old enduros, also 6 volt lighting & drum brakes didn't help. If you ride one on the street, please be aware of this & be safe.
CLASSIC
We will stop by some time with the 74ks125 and 83rm125 maybe have the 1980 mx175 done by then .
Beautiful machine
General layout and overall look nearly identical to my 78 KD 100 minus lights and gauges.
That rotary valve induction gives amazing low end torque and fuel mileage.
Oil induction set lean and Bel Ray SI- 7 gives virtually no smoke or wear.
Drum brakes properly maintained work just fine. Shoes give amazing low wear.
Shoe goo dabbled into seat tears fix’s as new. Change fork oil and synthetic gear oil will run forever.
Oiled foam air cleaner, clean with soap and water, before light filter oiling.
Points, condenser, plug easy maintenance and really very long interval for service.
Normal service with oil in control cables and chain wax. Get 75 miles to gallon with that bad boy and five tanks gas to one oil tank. But top off simultaneously.
Late great 👍 Steve McQueen luv to ride that bike
Great motorcycle enthusiast and rider too
Awesome bike turn the license plate right way up 🤣🤣

I kick myself for selling my F11 greenish gold, it was mint. Thank you for the vid.
I have a 1974 that color
Excellent example of a 50 year old survivor
had one back in the day, same color, great power with the rotery vlave injection, but frame and suspension was bad, went way too fast. it also had a bad oil injection system, took back to dealer many times for it, they finally said use premix, traded FOR A 74 HONDA XL250, way less power but much more dependable
How much did this sell for? I looked on ebay but couldn't find the completed auction.
someone put the fire out lol
Patina 💡🌟🏍
Is it for sale
When euro... wots thingy stops and electric bikes disappear ...we'll still be riding these two stroke trailies...gbjapenese bikes...from very wet UK..
What?
Holy smoke 😄
We had a Kawasaki 110 I think... that had a dual range transmission.. I can’t remember the model
Your dual range motorcycle was the G4Tr100. I believe it was built from 69( maybe 70) until about 74( maybe 73) I had a G4TR 100 in 71, it was the first 1972 model available on the Kansas City area. Mine came from Dick Mattie Ford, Lincoln Mercury in Leavenworth Kansas. My dad purchased the bike for me one afternoon after visiting a friend of his that was in Munson Army Hospital at Fort Leavenworth Kansas. After the visit my father went to see Dick Mettie ( dad knew everyone everywhere) about a new Lincoln for my mom and while we were there I was looking at the 100 And my mother kept saying " Spotts jr. Not no but he'll no, you have a mini bike at home" I had a 1972 Kawasaki MT1 DYNOMITE 75 ( design by Parnelli Jones). Short story mad long, mom said no, dad winked and smiled at me told me to go to Dari Queen ice cream shop, I went over got my ice cream, came back the mechanics were servicing the bike for delivery, dad dropped the tailgate on his 1972 Ford country squire (LTD) station wagon, the mechanics loaded the bike up, tied it down and back to Kansas City Missouri we went. Mom never did get her Lincoln, she ended up with a pre-owned Volkswagen Battle. Thanks for letting me tell my story
Ps, you should have been around when dad and I went to look at the 1974( maybe 1975) Yamaha YZ360, that's another great story and man was mom mad!
It's stuttering and not picking up cleanly! Check the timing and jetting.
Clutch time
It's on order and included with the sale price
