      I was curious if you got the oil-free pump? Is it worth the extra? What kind of oil do the others take? I am guessing by oil-free it just doesn’t need it, but which is best do you think? I’d like to do the most environmentally conscious, if possible. I see it is quite a bit more though as well. However, I was thinking if I had to replace oil that would add up over time, so maybe the oil-free would have multiple benefits and be cost effective long-term.

    You can freeze your coffee (or any liquid) in ice cubes trays. That way all you have to do is A: put the cubes in the tray and not have to worry about spilling in your freezer. B: save any leftovers coffee in cubes and place in a freezer bag until you have enough to fill a tray. C: it can maximize your space in the freeze dryer. Just an idea. I can’t wait to save up to get one for myself.

Becky has risen in numbers that outweigh Lumnah Acres, Hollar Homestead, even Justin Rhodes even though he is near 1 million subscribers it has taken him quite a few years to get there. I've stopped watching and subscribing to him now as I feel he is not genuine and there were quite a few others who felt the same and also left. I think Becky with give Justin a run for his money. @@annewendt8434 they reduced the bone broth by simmering the liquid by half to make a more potent product so that there is less to freeze dry to maximize space in the freeze dryer. So basically doing part of the processing the freeze dryer would have done but now since there is less volume they could potentially put 2 batches of bone broth on the same tray which would yeild more bone broth powder in the end. To me, though, coffee is so easy to prepare on the stove…as long as you have boiling water, coffee grounds and a filter, you can make a great cup or pot of coffee. If you can boil water for instant coffee, you can boil water for a French Press coffeemaker. Mine makes up to 34oz., or two good sized mugs. No need for freeze dried coffee, really. And you can buy coarse ground beans too.

      That's a good idea!!

      This is what I do as well, easy to boil water on the wood stove. I often do this even when we have power just to save electricity.

    •  2 роки тому

      @@AcreHomestead I also didn't buy a separate coffee grinder. While I have electricity, I grind whole beans in my Magic Bullet (smoothie blender) & it takes maybe 30 seconds... but, like I said, you can buy coarse ground coffee & eliminate that step completely. Some places that sell whole beans also allow you to grind right there in the store using their equipment, too. My French Press coffeemaker was less than $30 (cheaper than a new electric coffeemaker), so... this does not need to be expensive to have the best tasting coffee ever. 😁

      I agree that there are so many ways to prepare coffee, however if someone wants to or sees a need to preserve something, THEY obviously see a need to do so. Whether or not there is a "need" is a personal choice. Maybe it would be more kind to say, what a fun idea, here's another way to do it.... ☺️

    •  2 роки тому

      @@juliabrown5948 Energy conservation (the freeze drying process uses quite a bit of electricity & I doubt you could do that off-grid on solar or wind without an even larger expenditure on equipment), time (French Press is way quicker than the time it takes to brew, freeze, freeze-dry process), financial considerations & expenditures, etc. There's a tendency for people to think what they do only affects them as individuals, when really we are all dependent & interconnected... need to look at the big picture not just your little niche.

    Make super strong brewed coffee can help too. Higher concentration, you just add less to water when you rehydrate it again

    • @IHealLiving
      @IHealLiving 2 роки тому

      Never mind, you’ll add the same amount to water 😂 But you will get more out of your dehydration cycle

    Hi Becky, When you put the trays in the freezer, use a carpenter level to get a quick easy level of the trays. Also put the trays in the freezer and get them frozen before you pour your liquids on. Love how you experiment and keep looking for better results for your good and now drinks. Hugs from Australia

    A big hello to you Becky. I was trying to let some people know that Michael's has the plastic photo containers that you use for your seeds for only $14.99 right now. They are regular over $40. Hopefully some people see this. I bought mine online today.
