60+km Murrumbidgee River Drift chasing Murray Cod

- We just completed a 60+ km drift over 3 days on the Murrumbidgee River. My wife and 3 of her siblings do it every year in their kayaks, this year I decided to join them in the tinny.
I got almost 20 fish on lures in my boat, most of them captured in this video but a few I missed the recording on. The others got about 20 fish between them on bait and a couple on lures.
Each evening when we setup camp I would walk the bank with surface rather than going back out in the boat as I wanted to conserve battery on the electric motor considering the high and fast flows.
Was a great couple of days, keen to do it again soon.
Looked liked a great trip with some nice cod and some really nice trout cod
Thanks Brenton, it was a great couple of days that we will probably do annually now
60km drift across three days is massive. Great effort, great vid Grant
Thanks Michael, was a great trip, keen to do it again
Cracking session Grant!
Thanks mate, was plenty of action to keep me keen to keep casting
Got amongst a few . Well done mate
Cheers mate, got a few but still had to work for them.
Hey Grant, great video Thankyou. I am planning a trip to take Dad and my Cousin for a drift session like this one. Can you please give me an idea on starting point to put a tinnie in? Thanks Steve
@@stephenlaughton3274 thanks mate. How big is your boat and how long do you want to drift for? There’s a concrete ramp at Wantabadgery (sandy beach reserve). We launched upstream from there at low level bridge. There’s a reserve just downstream from there but it was a fairly remote launch and would only be doable with a smaller tinny. At certain heights you can drive into the sand and launch there
@@granthigginson5555 I have a 5 meter Brooker tinnie. Doesn’t draw much water though. Looking to do say 5 to 7 nights. Any info is helpful thankyou
@@stephenlaughton3274 you’d easily do Wantabadgery to wagga in that time. We did 3 nights but only went to Oura. I’d stick to concrete ramp at sandy with a boat that size
@@granthigginson5555 thanks Grant, good advice. Are there any rapids down that way? Or just flowing water? Will keep you posted on our planning, thanks again, Steve
I love my frend
Pescaria muito bacana
Thank you
👍🏻
Gtreat stuff mate
Thanks mate
Good cod mate what rod and pound line u got
Cheers mate. I run a few different rods but they’re all 50lb suffix 832 braid and 50lb fluorocarbon leader. Rods on this trip are a couple of nitro undertakers and a couple of samaki zing from memory. Curado and curado DC reels as well as a 13 concept A.
