The Emoji movie isn't an unnecessary movie because it struck a cord which at least a small few, for us, this movie means a lot, I watched this movie when I was having a really hard time, I felt a lot like Gene, like who I was, was defective, and that i should only feel certain emotions and be certain things, but this movie, this movie that is supposedly "cringe" and has no "heart" or "story" made me feel seen, made me laugh and cry, and made me feel like it was okay to be different, that it was okay to be me. Maybe if you've never felt that you wouldn't understand the story, but to those few of us who do, it makes it a good story that is not "unnecessary"
