Very beautiful craftsmanship and result. I love the fact that you used reclaimed wood as it's so good for the environment not to have wood end up in landfill whilst live trees are chopped down for the building or creating the same objects.
@@charlesezzell5169 Yes but it's not that simple. You have to take into account the decades it will take for those trees to grow and, therefore, capture CO2 effectively. Furthermore, that 2 for 1 or 1 for 1 is often in monocultures; devoid of a proper diverse web of life. Furthermore, all too often, companies will plant and go. Don't forget that trees often die from lack of water, disease, extreme weather, thunderstorms, etc. They need care. The norm is to meet quota and walk away. In ALL instances, salvaging beautiful wood with history; charm and that would otherwise end up in landfill is a very positive thing and the results are often very charming and full of character. If that avoids some trees from being chopped down, to me, that's a win-win.
Wicked table mate, looks absolutely amazing!!! How did you know all the planks would line up totally flush on the table face, and not require sanding?? Mad skills ✌✌
Are the boards you use laminated/layered like plywood or are just grooved solid wood. I was thinking of using the latter, but I'm afraid of wood movement.
Mofjell1981 the wood I used is 100 year solid old reclaimed. so it has plenty of time to dry out. Unless you are using 2x4s most wood is dried to the point that it will hardly move. Wood movement is over exaggerated in this community.
when laying the middle piece in the beginning, approx where did you screw it in? Is it directly in the middle? And how wide was the piece you screwed down to start the pattern? Thanks so much! The tabled turned out stunning.
Thank you! It is directly in the middle. I can't remember how wide it was but it doesnt really matter. You just need to split the table in half to start your pattern.
@@Kraftmade I dont get this, if the middle piece is exactly in the middle then when I remove it the first row of diagonal boards will be half the measure of the middle piece to the right, then when I put the left diagonal boards row it will be slightly offset to the right of middle of the table. Obviously if you the left of the table then that won't matter but I think the middle piece should be to the left of the middle of the table when you start putting the right row and then when it's removed the left ones will be put exactly in the middle.
I am making g a wood table for laundry room. Would this type of wood swell with humidity from heat from dryer? This is my first time doing this. So Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.
All wood swells from heat and humidity, some just more than others. Honestly though I wouldn’t worry too much about it, just make sure you are using dry wood when first building it
@@Kraftmade what I mean is, I don't have a nail gun and I don't have the router bits for making the tongue on the boards so if I make this how I can attach the boards without the nails and that tongue on the boards? Can I just use glue and clamps to make it? Thanks for the reply!

Food for thought. Most professional companies that chop down a tree for lumbar use, plant 2 trees for every 1 tree taken down. It's not a 0 sum game.

Thanks! No unfortunately I dont
Looks amazing.
What timber is that?
Thanks! I think it’s mostly pine, some Douglas dir, it was all reclaimed from a barn in Minnesota
Good work
- THANX a million for the demo. Really good job.
Where'd you find the tongue & groove material. I like the distressed look.
A local reclaimed lumber place. So unless if you live in Fargo ND I cant help you :)
Nice job man..
Thanks Kevin!

Thanks man! I guess I am not 100% sure what you mean but the wood has tongue ang groove and is designed to sit tightly torgether
@@Kraftmade I think He's referring to the angles in the center of table
Awesome

Do you know the approximate width of the boards you used? I love the look.
Its been a long time but I bet they were 3.5"

Technically the edge of the guide piece is in the middle of the middle of the board.
Harbor freight baby! Just goes to show that’s it’s the craftsman that makes the project not the tools! Nice vide dude
Couldn’t agree more!
nice work!!
Thanks!
Did you do anything to the wood at all? Protect it at all? Color it in any way?
I didn't but I bought I bought it from a reclaimed lumber place that sealed it. So there is a seal coat on it, i dont think there is any stain.
Impressive,sir...you made them looks easy... did you flatten the side of the wood before?
Thank you! No I bought the wood pre finished so it was already flattened
@kraftmade thanks a bunch, sir
Great project! 👏 I enjoyed how simple you did this. Greetings from my DIY channel
I appreciate it, thank you!
- Very, very nice job. Did U make the legs as well ??? If so, U should make a follow up video on "The art/technique of welding." Thanx 4 sharing.
I didnt make the legs on this one. Thank you though!
What a nice dog!!! Is it a mix of Akita Inu with something?
Shiba Inu actually. Shiba's are like the smaller cousins on Akita's
Oh, wow! Thanks for responding. He or she is beautiful!
Great job, where do you got the legs from? S.A. Tx
I cant remember exactly where but you can find hairpin table legs anywhere online
where did you get the wood for the top, look like old floor boards ?
I bought them from a reclaimed wood store from where I Live. I guess I am not sure where they got it though.
Super nice
Ron Bellator thanks for the love!
Did you post all of your materials somewhere, or is this just a visual of a perfect table being made?
Just a visual!
How tall are those hairpin legs? Love the look.
16 inches, thanks!
Look up ''Industrial by Design'' they make those legs and much more.
is a beautiful table
good
Le gambe di questo tavolino ci sono grandi anche per i l tavolo?

How can they be attached together if no nail gun is used and the boards doesn't have a tongue and groove? Excellent project by the way.
Thank you! I’m a little confused by your question, I did use a nail gun to nail through the tongue on the boards.
@@Kraftmade what I mean is, I don't have a nail gun and I don't have the router bits for making the tongue on the boards so if I make this how I can attach the boards without the nails and that tongue on the boards? Can I just use glue and clamps to make it? Thanks for the reply!
@@jellyg.8961 Oh! Yeah clamps and glue will work just fine. I only nailed it because I can move faster rather than waiting for the glue to dry.
Did you cut the grooves into each board?
I didn't because the wood came that way but you certainly could if you bought wood that didn't haven a tongue and grove.
I like the sound lol
Haha it’s soothing isn’t it!
Wht size plywood did you use and it that brace the center of the plywood
3/4 inch but 1/2 inch would work
Kraftmade ok the long board you started with was that the center of the plywood
Yes
What kind of circular saw guide is that?
It's just a metal straight edge that I have had forever, I honestly couldnt even tell you what brand it was.
Are these old wood flooring planks?
No, they are reclaimed 2x4's sawn into flooring. So the new intent was to make them flooring.
Lovely one
Thank you!
what size nails did you use?
18 gauge, If I remember correctly they were 1.5 inches long
very kool
Henry Sanchez thanks!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Dope
Thanks bruh!
Where did yoy get the legs?
I cant remember specifically where I bought them but if you google hairpin legs, you will find a 589,000 results on where you can buy them.
Look up ''Industrial by design''
good job. Can you give the dimensions of the table? thanks
I don't remember specifically but probably roughly 20"x48" by 17" tall
What kind of wood is that
Not really sure, it was from a reclaimed place. Probably some sort of old growth pine
No sanding Before making borders? :S
Prefinished, no need to!
Where can I get those boards?
There is a local reclaimed lumber supply store near my house. I would check to see if you have a store like this near your house.
Do you sell your Projects??
Every once and a while I will do commissions.
💪
🤘
Прикольно
What are the dimensions on this table?
I don’t remember specifically but it would be close to 20”x42”
Kraftmade okay, thank you. Did you end up selling it ?
@@christopherguerrero3409 You are welcome, yes I did.
Started very good but the end is sloppy.
