- Billie Eilish’s new album Happier Than Ever kinda blew me away. So I figured I had to make this Billie Eilish Video Essay to explore exactly why it is I Love Happier Than Ever. From My Future and Therefore I Am to Lost Cause and NDA, Billie went unbelievably hard on this - it’s easily her best album so far. Really, Happier Than Ever is just the perfect display of Billie’s wide musical talents and I couldn’t be more excited to see where she decides to go next. As always thank you guys so much for your support, it means the world to me.

Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed the video. What are your thoughts on Happier Than Ever? As always thanks for all your support, you guys are the greatest. ❤️💜
Personally had a tougher time staying engaged with this album compared to her debut lp. I thought it executed perfectly on the concept and storyline that Billie set out to achieve and that the songs flowed better than the last album, but overall I enjoyed it less. She’s got a lot of potential, hope she pulls out all the stops on her next album.
This album takes multiple listens and then you will enjoy it more
I enjoyed this album imo, it’s very fleshed out and has a lot of depth.
@@waxcrazy9098 I had already given it multiple listens, and after giving it several more it’s still not nearly as engaging as her first project lol.
@@johnpaulcross424 her vocals have improved, her songwriting has improved and it’s awesome to see her go into different genres. If you don’t like it, then that’s fine but it’s a great album
@@waxcrazy9098 personally felt like a stagnation or regression based on production, but I think thematically she fulfilled on the premise. Could’ve been worse.
I love Billie, ever since I did and I got more into music I eventually started writing my own songs I'm proud of I dont have anything to produce but I will find the way and time to do. The way I make these songs are planned in my head, i write down whatever comes to mind, I love it sm it's become my hobby and has helped with stress.
Great video, Seamus. You definitely deserve more views. The only thing I would add is more discussion of Finneas' input. Finneas has said that he writes all of Billie's songs with her, so they have to be relatable to both of them. This is perhaps why her songs are uniquely her but, as you noted, they are immensely relatable for her listeners.
I'm happier than ever that I found this video it really emphasizes some themes that not a lot of people could think of... Also, do you mind reviewing NF's "Clouds" or "The search" I'd really like to hear your opinion on his discography and how with every album he gets more critical of himself
No idea what black magic Billie used to get happier than ever to work, especially the climax of "you made me hate this city", which is a phrase that's too short to split and too long to sound good, yet she just pulls it off. Listened to the album for the first time a couple days ago (haven't listened to Billie in ages, although I was on the don't smile at me train before her first album), and I really enjoyed it
You're so underrated man

please please please do Folklore by Taylor Swift! It has really interesting storylines and emotions and I've been searching for a good video essay on the album as it would be amazing and could delve into many things. I just wanted to put in my request here as yours is my favourite channel making these kinds of videos!!!
First of all, loved the video and loved the album (obviously), and second of all, what are your thoughts on Porter Robinson and his new album Nurture (aoty in my opinion)? idk if u take suggestions, but I really wanna hear ur thoughts on him on video (he deserves his own video essays bcuz he's amazing)
Thank you! I haven’t listened to that album yet actually but I’ll make sure to check it out
Edit: Listened to it. Really enjoyed the soundscapes on there. I don’t listen to much lo fi but I’ll definitely be revisiting a bunch of those songs - cheers for the recommendation
@@mintrommovies If you review Porter Robinson - Nuture I'm definitely going to subscribe to your channel
Man you vids are good
I found your youtube channel with recommendation and god damn it's great
Imagine being one of the biggest artists that can just crank out hits and instead gives us a deeply personal and vulnerable album. She basically gave us Mr Morale pt2. Her career is oddly similar to kendrick's, now that I think of it, from a relatively underground project to a successful album with radio friendly hits. Then she skipped damnation and survivors guilt (lol) and went straight to Mr Morale. Wonder where she'll go next.
how is this channel not bigger??
I think Billie Eilish look kinda similar to Scarlet Johansen from Chef
its so good isnt it i love it to
I didn’t like the album, but I really enjoyed the video. I feel the sound of Billie hasn’t developed a ton with the exception of a few tracks, which doesn’t reflect her as a person.
This album takes multiple listens for it to be amazing.
I disagree, It’s a more personal album that showcases a lot of personal shit she’s goes through such as body shaming, abusive power dynamics from her ex, stalkers, etc. Shes trying to overcome that in the album and it reflects her well as a person.
I agree. its hard to top wwafa because of the experimentation on the album. hopefully she experiments a lot more on her next album. hte than ever misses the 'unique' factor which brought her success on bad guy.
The price to pay for fame, I'm a slow bloomer, but I catch things along the way when I soon go to that beacon on the hill that's full of thorns and glass. Truly hollywood is a toxic place and hence why it's best to learn slowly than think of the goal and glory of it. because really I just want to put a mark before I go, a way to make history through art like the artists before me, life is a blank slate and that's the reason why I want to go to hollywood knowing all it's flaws and cutthroat markets. Always be skeptical and if I do get a fanbase and become idolized. I'll tell my fans this, be careful what you wish for, because i can simply be a slave for the oppressors of entertainment, which is simply the audience.
Please listen and make a video about planet her by doja cat
I don't like this album as much as WWAFAWDWG? or even don't smile at me. Reasons beeing that musically the album is all over the place, the songs aren't as memorable and I kinda miss the fun and cheeky humor from her past releases.
Only 41 comments says it all.
I personally am not a fan of billie eilish
Didn’t need to know
@@waxcrazy9098 they're not talking to you, just their opinion.
@@dopamineinaformofashort it was unnecessary
@@waxcrazy9098 no, it’s a nice comment.
@@beppson9201 it’s not a nice comment.
This album was a big let down for me personally. Stylisticly and thematicly it just flows horribly. Feels more like a "lets just throw pretty songs into the world and see what sticks" 5/10 at most
