Really well done. Cherry is really one of the most beautiful woods. And it gets better with time. If you are giving these as a gift the shavings can go in the box for a nice effect.

Very nice! If you use the chisel bevel down it is much more controllable on curved cuts.

You'll have to check your exact species. Any decently hard wood will be good for utensils as long as it is not toxic and not porous. Also avoid woods with strong scents.
