I got this Boat I have done many upgrades ! replaced ESC to Dynamite 120 amp, from a cheap plastic 60 amp ESC all new water hoses silicone, I ordered new Drive to stern for prop, new rutter, and now looking to put a piano wire drive shaft solid no more spring cables, too cheap, now there is so much power from 6s battery that it ripped the battery holder from the hull, so now I have a carbon fiber battery strap coming in from offshorer electronics it friggin goes ! having a hard time keeping it the water stupid fast.
you can get just as much performance staying with 4s setup... just esc, motor, and prop changes with high c rating batteries...i have seen boats this size doing 80-90 mph on 4s setups... best thing about it is less batteries to charge and more run time vs a 6 or 8s setup...
Surprised you used a 2200 mah 30c battery. They recommend a 5000 mah 60c. I ordered a 4500 mah 100c to try and a 6000mah 60c I want to order the pro but the discount code isn't good anymore. The plastic hardware seems to still work well
Epic RC boat Lucre! Cheers for the review guys!! Lucre, you're a natural behind the camera mate!! Lots of laughs with the both of you!! Nice work... !!! ...( as always!!! :) )
@@RCTanksTrucks247 But What about the cabin lock ? I heard that the cabin lock just blew away when it's in full power/ full throttle with 4s Lipo.Did you you remark this kind of problem?
Great review as always bro! Also did this take long to come? I have been searching high and low recently for a pond basher. This one seems to go pretty good hey!
i wonder what top performance setups keeping this boat stock are... maybe getting trim and struts perfect along with the best prop and some great 100c packs would get this boat close to 50 mph... but who knows ..thanks for sharing
I am thinking about ordering the pro version today, but have to figure out batteries. If I plug in 2 7.4 lipos is wired to make it like a 4s? Or is it still just 7.4? I was told by my local hobby shop that it is smarter to run 2 2s batteries cuz if you have a cell go bad on one of them your not out a whole 4s 5000mah lipo...I hope my question makes sense lol Thank you for any advice😁
It can't be too cold if all you have is a hoodie and shorts lol. Pretty solid review and run video guys. Really nice facility to go and run them at as well.
Awesome bro, I’ve checked your video out and yeah I’m trying to stop myself from going the same route but how funny would it be to chop a few Sonicwakes 😂👌🤙
@@RCTanksTrucks247 Not entirely true bro. There are a heap of Salt water tolerant boats. As you say, Maintenance is key. Run the boat while holding it in a bucket of fresh water to flush all lines... Dry the inside and a spray a fine mist of WD40 over the components. Same with any shaft. Try and use Marine ESC's and components where possible. Good vid man, Great little runner this one. Highly moddable as there is plenty of room in there. Id like to wack a 14V Jet Unit on one. The way it rights itself ( from memory ) is that it floods the port side chamber with water... that's what those holes are on the front top side rail, then dumps it out the rear once righted.
if want to seal better use some silicone from a self apply tube like.....locktite clear silicone......i use it to seal all my boats and areas of electronics for all rc vehicles that need it......never failed me for 2 yrs and still have the original application i did
Well that explains a lot. I've always wondered what sheep headers do while their waiting for the sheep to get all fuzzy and fluffy. and now I know..lol As for the boat for the price its very reasonable for someone on a budget or just starting out in the sport. in fact even the pro version is priced with in a reasonable budget. normally with the RC's when you hear the words Pro Version the price doubles and some times triples. Not the case with this boat. I remember when we used to have to waterproof everything inside our boats and even then there was no guarantee your electronics would stay dry. These new boats with the self righting designs show just how far things have come
RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 This is part of the bandgood description with spelling errors as on the site... Battery for the Boat:Not included Charger:Not included Recommended battery: 14.8 V 4500-5000 mAH Po or 2 pieces 7.4 v 4500 mah(n0t included)
Using a “bashing” 5000mah 50c 4s lipo. Flies but everything gets hot. The pro has different motor en is somewhat cooler. Speed difference between pro and normal is minimal.
Watching this vid for the 2nd time & paying closer attention to details. The 2200mah battery was way too small for this boat even though it's 4S. This SR80 requires a 14.8volt battery 4500-5000mah or you can use Two 7.4volt 4500mah batteries.👍👍💙
Yes, definitely needs a larger mah battery and better punch. We basically use what we've got considering we have larger mah rated batteries in the 4s range but the size are enormous considering the size of the boat and its self righting feature depends on the bias of the battery
The Guys a natural on the camera..... don't give him too much air time Steve haha, he'll be taking over 😅. That looks a decent boat!
Haha yeah he is very good, a little too good 😂
Great video cool little boat 👍🏻
Has touches of that Gary Green 😉
Neat little boat. Did you guys ever do a running vid on the dominator?
We will do that soon. We were waiting on parts
i never new you could run 1 4s when you have double harness ... just need to add that loop connector ..thats pretty cool...
👍
How fast the boat is!
Thank you for the wonderful video.
Approx 30-35km/hr
60 km/h

What a sweet and colourful speed boat. I believe the other model is a all metal. This is in 4s, just imagine having one running 6s or 8s..

With how the SR80 is set up your 2s Lipo's will come out to 4s (Wired in series)
5000 mAh 7.4V + 7.4V = 14.8V if wired in series (still 5000mAh)
5000 mAh 7.4V + 7.4V = 7.4V if wired in parallel (now 10.000mAh)

That’s how I roll, just getting old 😬
Nice pond😊👍..I've modified one of these and had more success than my Pursuit..Vector SR80 is a very good hull design and bigger lipo turns it over

@@Michael_Lucre oh thanks for looking..yes not bad the Vector much better than a Sonicwake modified..
Easy to lube the shaft? I bought a sharkool lil boat and it's hard to take the shaft out and lube up from ocean runs.
Yeah pretty easy to work on to be honest

Any suggestions for a salt water boat?
Thanx
No boats are meant for salt water. They all need to be cleaned thoroughly after. Salt kills everything

Apparently 400m

Any bad reviews for this boat
Not really, it’s just a simple plug n play boat. Besides the front pin snapping on the canopy easily it’s a really good pond basher
