Since I've watched most of the footage, I started watching the audience around them, instead of their hands or devons or his opponents face. The tension, the excitement, the open mouths and the cheering at the end is awesome! What a great atmosphere for everyone

He's one of the best of all-time when it comes to weathering storms. He's great at using as little energy as he can, until his opponent is gassed, then finishing it.
He has got not only stamina but he is deceptively strong also a master of techniques of this sport.

When Devon tells Mask, "I want you to remember.. I want you to remember" I laugh my ass off every time.
Its kind of the perfect sport to talk trash. First of all its all about strength so if you lose it means you just got completely dominated by another man. Second its face to face. No running down the field or to the safety of your bench if you talk trash. Its like the most intimate, demoralizing scenario to be getting trash talked. The only thing similar I can think of is in mma or bjj getting dominated and submitted and having someone say some shit like that to you. The only difference is we usually can't hear them talking in those sports because there isn't a mic right next to them.

Had this guy from work who was into arm wrestling and devon, we had a back and forth test of strength by arm wrestling. Now I cant stop building my strength and going against strong opponents gives me this rush I cant get from anywhere else.

What do you see as the difference between the use of the king's move by Todd and the use of the king's move by Devon in the match against Chaffee starting at about 7:25 that makes Devon's use acceptable and Todd's use cheating?

Physical strength is something to respect. I always have, even though I don't have much of it myself anymore at age 68. Still, I used to walk down steep hills on my hands, a 193 lb man. Strong wrists I had and still have.

Watching John Brzenk, a relatively small guy, dominant huge guys with no fanfare is jaw dropping. And on the other side of the coin, watching Devon do the same with total emotion. Damn. Devon is a legend, he is one of the best and true giants of the sport, his compertition talk is spot on as a mind game, but at the same time he is a true sportsman. Really respect him and love watching his matchs.
