I own and manage a restaurant in Seoul and my staff and I have been spoken to in disgusting ways, been hit on, have been grabbed and even asked outright to be intimate with them by some k-celebs and male idols who have literally said to us "do you know who I am?". So ladies please stop thinking they are perfect. Also if you ever come here to Korea please do not be like some foreign girls/women and approach Korean men who look like idols and k-celebs and grab them and hug them. That is not okay and it can also be dangerous. The majority of Korean men are good men who will be gentlemen, but some do absolutely take advantage of foreign women who have this fantasy and mindset that ALL Korean men are like what you BELIEVE/THINK your favorite idols and k-celebs are like. We Korean women have been trying to educate foreign women about the dangers they can find here from some Korean men. The demographic of females who have the highest rate of assault, SA, r@pe, theft, harassment and being followed/stalked are foreign women, even though many of us Korean women have been victims of these things as well. If any of you ladies come here to Korea NEVER go out at night alone, ALWAYS be situationally aware, if you do get followed go to a place with a crowd and even ask for help to get you to a safe space, if you wear skirts or dresses be aware who is behind you when you are on escalators and stairs because they will take up skirt photos. I don't understand. Korean dramas have various genres and have many bad characters. Why are K-drama always criticized? And K-pop stars were ridiculed at first because they were different from Western standards of beauty. Asians have been portrayed in a funny way in Western media for decades, but few people have raised a problem here. Honestly, Koreans don't care what feelings (negative or positive) foreigners have about Koreans. People don't care, as long as it's not rude.
As an aside, the moral flex that is popular in the West these days seems pretentious and superficial. Look back at how honest and sincere you live your life before criticizing others with useless moral standards. Of course, it is a fact that any person with normal intelligence knows that there are various people in any country. A normal person's thoughts should be universal. These days people are too conscious of the thoughts of abnormal people.
@@lkaolane4403 Think of the long history of underestimating Asians and overestimating Westerners in reality because of Hollywood movies. And if I'm being really honest, there should be more smart and common sense people in the West. That way, the media can have less influence on reality. Very well said. Living in Korea and getting to know the men that way vs getting to know the men through dramas is completely different. They are just regular people at the end of the day..
Don't worry smart and intelligent women knew that most actors are just portraying to be someone that are not or good to be true. But in the real sense they have also there bad sides.. I just watch Netflix 😊❤
I never once thought that korean men are soft and romantic lol 🤣 never been there even though ihave been a fan since 2008.. I mean they are normal people, depending on individuals. Same goes to the men in our own countries.
I dated a Korean guy back in 2008 when I was a teenager and it’s not like the dramas at all. I learned his language and perfected it because he kept complaining about communication problems, meanwhile he didn’t learn Japanese, English or Flemish for me at all. I got close to his family and learned their culture but he made no effort to do the same; in the end he left for the military without telling me leaving me heartbroken and we never spoke again until last year that is, we are both married to other people and he finally apologized for what he did, so girls don’t think life is like dramas.
I am Indian and My Huband is Korean, and after dating for 6 years, we finally got married because we were actually good for each other. We can safely say that men, all around the world are same... obviously they are brought up with different values, but that doesnt mean every guy near you in an angel or absolute garbage. You will find good and bad ones all around the world, so instead of looking for a particular nationality, i would suggest just go for the trailts you want in your husband and in the father of your children ❤
I don't think kdrama men are sensitive or nice, they're possessive and are emotionally immature for their age, maybe that's why it's so fun for older women to watch. But for younger girls who are just getting comfortable with who they are, this kind of obsessiveness might look very attractive since they're beginning to be obsessed with themselves as they interact with more self-conscious people in school and college. Bottom line is that, people aren't thinking about you as much as they portray in kdramas. Everyone's busy building their own lives.
Based on my experience, he's right. Back in 2015 when I started watching Korean dramas, I also fantasized about them. However, times have changed now, and I can now understand that reality is different from what we see portrayed in the dramas but back then, I couldn't 😂
Lol. Love this. And I hope viewers see the emotional behavioral deficits in the relationships I. The dramas, and the excessive bullying and suicides depicted in some of these dramas. Too many young adolescent girls and adults with emotional fragments create more self depression and anxieties. Mental Health Awareness. ❤
Next time while watching korean drama ladies,,,also give attention to the bad guys who cheat on the female lead😂 kdrama shows all kinds of guys. Should not be blamed

Like that's not perfection that's the bare minimum of what you should hope for in a fiunctioning adult. We've truly normalized having the bar for men be so low the devil uses it as a footstool.
It's best not to confuse entertainment with reality. That's any culture.
I love Korean dramas etc because I like the stories. I like Korea because I love the history and culture. I'm attracted to personality over looks, maybe because I'm older now and have learned that looks can be deceiving.
Man you talk so softly. It's soothing to hear ❤

My boyfriend is Korean and he is exactly like the typical Korean male lead in K-dramas (he literally made me feel like I was part of a frickin K-drama when we first met lmao), but he's NOT like that because he's Korean, but because he's simply a nice and sweet guy🥺
I've come across and I know a lot of Korean men who are the exact opposite...🙃 I think it's absolutely valid to wish for a sweet and caring partner but I think it's best to know that such people exist everywhere and not only in South Korea😂😂
I am really awestruck by the way this guy speaks
❤❤❤❤
He himself being super handsome and saying not to expect anything from kdrama
His skin is so nice

As a result, there will be more freedom of expression in the media

Korean drama are written by women, so it is still a woman fantasying what a good guy is like. Idk why people take it for reality. You don't look at dramas from your country and think "yeah, men are that romantic in my country."
I like the business and corporation dramas.
It’s the same as watching American movies / shows and thinking all the men in America are buff and hunky lmao
In short, no matter which country it is things won't be the same as shown through entertainment shows or media..... Reality can be different sometimes too different from expectations and that's quite natural... It's not anybody's fault.
i feel like this applies to any fiction consumer...like readers have done this years b4 k-drama was even a hot topic🤣 ppl know they are watching fiction and its a show but its only natural to wish if only this was real. wishing and believing are 2 diff things and ppl are all different...it's kinda weird to generalize.
Wattpad team is here i loved the story but it was fake 😭😭😭
This truth hurts more than break up 😭😭
It's true. I date a Korean man and I only like him because he treats me well, we have a lot chemistry and we have things in common, we even work in the same field, not bc of his nationality. Of course he is handsome, flirty and has that korean aesthetic that I like but after all...Korean men still human like the rest of the world and they have the same NEEDS like the rest of MEN😅 He always needs physical and adult touch like the rest of the men on earth, but some guys only want that without consent so be careful. So don't think they are fallen angels, some of them are sooo perv... Here your NOONA Latina advice haha.
I have dated korean men before and honestly I probs wont in the future. They have such strict views of women and expect you to be hyperfeminine and cute but then also sexy when in private and they also have high relationship abuse rates cause in korea SA isnt taken seriously. This is only speaking for my experience with korean born koreans not korean americans
Ok but the noona is cringy tho

Very PRACTICAL BRUH!!! Few of My African frenz tell your vibes.
While I agree for the most part, I did however grew up with old school K-drama where the male lead is usually an asshole so this type of fantasy didn’t happen at least for my generation 🤣🤣🤣
same lmao it was guaranteed if the guy was a massive asshole for 15/16 episodes, he'd end up with the clumsy-dumbass-dirt poor-female-lead, even though his equally good looking best mate/cousin/rival was genuinely good to her the entire time
That one reality check we all needed
The guy in the video has a good voice 🤣
He has the face of the typical K-drama male lead

My only fantasy about Koreans is mostly around the idea of solving problems with food 😂 idk if it has any real truth to it, but i like the idea of feeling down and your friends being like you know what let's just have some tasty food and a drink and see how that goes.
😂😂 Me too or when they colleagues organizes a trip to just relax and have fun
"as you can see in the kdrama Korean guys are nice, romantic....and of course handsome." Awww 😅
Yea I went to highschool with a Korean boy. He was the valedictorian for my class. [I'm from the US. Im asian but not korean] he wasn't good looking but he was def popular bc he's korean. Not only that he was very full of himself bc of that. I'm not popular but many people knew me as much as I knew them. He one day walked up to me randomly and said "don't you like kpop? Lets be friends" He was trying to be "friendly with me" but he was only looking for the crowd. I just shook my head awkwardly and hid behind my friend. Which was the best choice I made
Sheesh
All women and people expect someone nice - doesn't matter Korean or whatever. I'm already sick of those korean men whining for being popular 🤦♀️
Difference between nice and exhibiting behaviour like kdrama guys. It's not realistic.
@@adhirajsingh1806 I don't know what kdramas you all watching. In mine guys just act like a guys, and some even worse than any real live guy I ever saw🤷
@@adhirajsingh1806 and when I traveled to South Korea I saw a couple on the street and man was holding woman's long hair high above her head because it was freaking hot out side. And they just walk down the street like this. Never ever saw anything like this. Maybe Korean guy doesn't know how men act outside of Korea. Ofcourse there's bunch of sick, toxic, unrespectful or creep men in Korea but even to get a girl or just to have sex no men from any other country would act like this💁
Maybe they’re sick of being fetishized by a bunch of people who expect them to be a character from a show they probably never watched
They're not whining about being popular. They're reacting to the surge of foreign women who are litereally moving to his country with the specific goal in mind to date Korean men. And it's because of the portrayal of them in media. This is not generalizable because of the actual delusion and misinformation these women are moving there with. What's happening there is a very specific thing with a specific root cause that needs addressing. While most women know what's up, there is a critical mass of women who don't and they need to be addressed.
Agreed but liking kdrama and kpop and seeing black women like me date Korean men is ao amazing so in life i feel like i have a chance to be with a Korean men even if it may not be right away when i visit Korea i trust myself enough to have the chance weather it's meeting at a store at a cafe or anything i will try my best and i feel like everyone no matter race should have the chance to visit countries and cities and state like south Korea before the world ends ❤❤
I think it's tremendously sad that he had to even say that they're normal people and that TV or whatever doesn't portray what every single man or woman looks like and behaves like
I love when my younger friends go on and on about how they wanna go to Korea and meet a Korean guy, I just sit there trying not to kill their high, but man kdramas really got them fantasising

Very well said. Living in Korea and getting to know the men that way vs getting to know the men through dramas is completely different. They are just regular people at the end of the day..
it's not just western women all women
Don't worry smart and intelligent women knew that most actors are just portraying to be someone that are not or good to be true. But in the real sense they have also there bad sides.. I just watch Netflix 😊❤

And he is totally NOT giving off that vibe.

I do have a preference but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t date anyone else. Character comes before all
I am Indian and My Huband is Korean, and after dating for 6 years, we finally got married because we were actually good for each other.

Gah... I'm to busy laughing whilst off key singing 'one day my prince will come' 🤣🤣
Here in India, chapri girls are daily dreaming about BTS.
I'm in love with all Asian dramas not just Korean drama and that's just enjoyable ❤
His voice is so smooth, I wish he had a podcast so that I could hear him more❤🙈
A random handsome nice romantic type Korean guy says....don't think Koreans are nice handsome and romantic.

Well have to say you the same girl who fetishizes them and you proved his point true by saying it😂
Based on my experience, he's right. Back in 2015 when I started watching Korean dramas, I also fantasized about them. However, times have changed now, and I can now understand that reality is different from what we see portrayed in the dramas but back then, I couldn't 😂
Emotional damange😂... But yea tho.. it's the reality check ✔️
Lol. Love this. And I hope viewers see the emotional behavioral deficits in the relationships I. The dramas, and the excessive bullying and suicides depicted in some of these dramas. Too many young adolescent girls and adults with emotional fragments create more self depression and anxieties.
