@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato dont worry . Your Salami is. Will try to find you a traditional recipe. My favourite us wet biltong. It must dry but still soft. Most South Africans eat it very dry
Ah thanks!! I've been wanting to make one of these here in the coming future when I have more space. You give me inspiration and who cares that it's not great looking just as long it produces a great end product. Digging your channel and keep up the great recipes!!
Spectacular. I use just the box from printer and simple smoker. That's enough for me. When temperature is -15°C or below (it is normal winter weather in Russia), I put one or two coal briquette to the smoker.
I am also a South African and mine works a little bit different. We use a closed box with one or two computer fans on top of the box. Make a couple of small holes at the bottom for airflow and put in your lamp. Remember to put a stainless steel tray on the floor to prevent a mess. Most important, it must not be very hot inside otherwise the meat will spoil.
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato there are many adaptions you can make. A friend and I built one with a double door steel office cabinet. Drilled holes in the sides for steel rods and then we pushed the rods into food grade plastic pipe. Worked perfectly.
hi i watched your Biltong making video and i must say it looked like a proper biltong.. congrats :) if i may suggest to add a fan blowing air on the meat 24/7.. this way you will cut the curing time of the meat by at least half great video
Thanks for your sharing. Could you please tell us how many watts is the light globe and what is the outside and inside temperature it should be. Thanks
WHOOPPEE spec-ta-cu-lar!! Now you are an even bigger super hero... you know about biltong and you have built a box!! I have a video on my channel - how to make easy biltong! Now, I will make a pallet box too... just because you told me to do so! Yes, I'm South African - I live in Ireland - we braai, make our own biltong and wine... using your wine recipe! Yes, you are now a super hero!! Spectacular!! 😁🥂👍😉🥂😂
Forza. Molte Grazie Signore. For a first time effort very good. Flies or Mpugwane (south African term) are always a problem. Come se Dici Italiano? For flies. You have a very beautiful country last time I visited.
Very nice! I don't understand what the light is for. My parents used to hang the sausages and pork belly in the chimney of our summer house when I was a little girl, i thought it was really funny.
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato - Nice! It's great before it gets too dry. Only use the very dry version for camping/ survival. Great for making cured sausages in it too
Nice one. Whatch out using pallet wood though. Pallets for international shipping are most of the time fumigated to meet rules and regulations concerning pests control. Goes without saying that you would not really want to cure your meat in a poisoned wood box...
Love it! South African/Portuguese here! This looks great. I see you put your guanciale in the box. Can the box be used to cure the guanciale too? What other delis can be done using this box. Thank you in advance. Ps. You put out amazing content
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato thank you so much for replying. Well that will be a bit difficult since i live in Mozambique and the it's very hot most of the year. I made guaciale once but it didn't turn out too good, i think i messed up the quantities of ingredients. If i keep a fan on will it do? Like biltong.
You should never use pallet wood for use around food -- you have no idea where the wood and has been and what has been transported on the pallet. Very dangerous.
As a South African, I approve.
Thanks 😊 from a South African this comment is spectacular 🤩

To circulate the air. Warm air rises...

Just make sure pallet is stamped with letters HT for heat treated so it doesn't contain chemical

The lamp should be on top otherwise blood can drip on it.
That's wrong. The lamp is there to increase air circulation. Hot air rises.
If you are careful it will be not a problem 😉

In many cases you can know what has been on the pallets. Many are used only once and are in new condition.
