WITH her shaved eyebrow and all-black attire, Izzy finds it difficult to blend in with her conservative Essex hometown. The 18-year-old fine arts student from Chelmsford, UK, describes her style - influenced by her love for heavy metal music - as a combination of cybergoth and 80s trad goth fashion. Izzy told Truly: "It started from the moment when I shaved the ends of my eyebrows off. Once I did that, I never went back." Izzy's alternative fashion is often judged by her classmates at her college where most girls like to wear trendy clothes. Although she feels confident in her original style, Izzy has decided to try mainstream for once and undergo a transformation with an Instagram glam look. How will Izzy react when she sees herself in a style reminiscent of girls at her college?

She looks beautiful with the makeover, she’s so happy this way. It’s so funny how on all of these makeovers their friends laugh and shame them when they know they look way better made up with the new makeover. It’s almost like the friends and boyfriends are so jealous that they look so good.

People need to realise these people are never gonna wear the wig/clothing again, so they're not going to spend tons of money on a nice wig or clothing that's going to be thrown out/given away after. However, this stylist actually did really well with the cheap wig and makeup was done very well!
I fully understand where you are coming from and you have a good point about keeping things cheap. However, these videos almost always go with the same type of hair so they could get a better wig and just use it for numerous videos. Also clothes don't have to be pricey to look nice and be put together well.
Overall this was definitely one of the more put together after looks! The makeup artist did a fantastic job!

Some of these comments are just horrible and cruel. Izzy is a lovely girl and she has every right to express herself through her gothic style. It derives from a subculture that is all about being yourself and celebrating the quirks and oddities that come with being goth. She is not a freak, nor a ‘sad clown’, she is not ‘corrupted’, she is not ‘going through a phase’, she doesn’t need to be ‘saved by God’ and she doesn’t look horrible. How sad must some of you people be to comment awful things about her? She’s just doing what she wants and she isn’t hurting anyone, which should be applauded. This is supposed to just be a fun transformation video but some people have taken it way too seriously and have used it as an excuse to say nasty things about her. Grow up.
I love Izzy's natural aesthetic. It's so easy to tell she feels herself in it.

If goth were “all about being yourself” then the style wouldn’t be identifiable as a collective. I have no problem with anyone being goth or dressing however the hell they want, but claiming it’s “all about individuality” is simply disingenuous. It’s still about conforming and group identity, it’s just a much smaller group.

Can we take a moment to appeciate the dedication, research and skill that she shows with doing her goth makeup, hairdo and clothes? She definitely knows what she's doing for someone so young. I'm happy she didn't feel like abandoning her art after the "makeover".

I think she should do the "norm" look from time to time just to weird out her friends or when she just wants to do things from a different perspective. Or job interviews, then she shows up to work in her everyday look. That'd be cool and I bet the reactions would be funny.

She looks good with the non-goth look. We need to realize that she stepped out of her comfort zone for a minute and became someone that she's not. That's who society wants her to be, but we need to accept her for who she is: a goth.

Very pretty either way, but much more comfortable as a goth. I'm goth myself, but can't be at work. I work in a factory with moving machinery, chemicals, and oils. I have to dress "normal"----old jeans, t-shirts, work boots, and toned down makeup. My tattoos and piercings are on show though, but that's OK. Many others where I work have them. I dress that way for safety reasons. (Jan Griffiths).

There are a couple videos out there. The guys from the try channel/facts. Which is essentially Irish buzz feel did one and the makeup artist didn't know how to do goth make up. Just painted them to look like the crow etc and that's the problem. You need make up artists who are actually alternative to know what they are doing

This actually looks like an outfit a real person would wear. The transformations before were all sooo odd. This is pretty cool to see actually. But still, do we really need to transform every goth on this planet until we get to tranforming a normal person to an alternative look?
The makeup artist and stylist was fantastic! Even the wig was good. This was a great transformation, really cool to see her in two completely different looks and still be able to rock both.
I love her goth outfit so much; it's very flattering and looks so cool. She looks great both ways. I would love to mix and match those types of styles personally, like wear the goth outfit but keep the hair and makeup similar to the glam girl (but maybe with darker lip color xD)

Wow, the transformation looks natural compared to most of the previous ones. I do love her original style more but the makeup artist really highlighted her natural beauty, and the styling looks great on her.
Being a MUA myself, it’s good they actually sent a good one to do this transformation! She didn’t make her look too made up. I’d like to add that Izzy’s makeup she did herself shows massive skill! I thought she is beautiful the way she was, but that’s just me. Both looks suit her very well, but her own work is amazing!!

You are never too old to go goth, I promise you that. All the original 80s goths are older now-a-days, there's always room for more at the table. This goth says put on some black clothes (which I see in your photo, you're well on your way), grab some goth albums and go for it, I believe in you!
I tell you what, if I was on the run from the law or in hiding from bad guys, goth is how I would hide. In a major city. Nothing like hiding in plain sight.

Beautiful transformation! The “glam” looked showed off a bit more of her beautiful eyes, in my opinion. However, no one should feel they have to look or dress a certain way, so if the goth look is what she feels more “herself”, then great! Self expression is a good thing, so long as we treat ourselves and each other kindly.

Surprised me to see Izzy in this video, I follow her on Instagram and here on UA-cam. While the outfit and the make-up looked good for what they were going for here (better than some other make overs, tbh), it's a good reminder of why we choose the aesthetics that we do. Izzy has used her talent with makeup to create her own unique style that she feels comfortable with. While the professional makeup artist is obviously very talented at what she does she has simply created a clone of every other girl on Instagram. Conventional beauty standards are all very well but not everyone wants to or is able to look like that. We need to embrace diversity whether it is diversity of style, colour, size, sexuality, faith, age or whatever else. We don’t need a world full of clones.
