Absolutely true as I've dealt with the same. I started learning Jyotish last 3 years and since then several times i felt I am not on the same platform with my teachers and that actually helped me to seek further . I started following Sidereal system first (as an Indian it's kind of obvious), but later on , when I get knowledge of Tropical system I found it scientific and stick to it. Then lordship of Nakhastras with planets , then Navamsha Nakhastras...those knowledge might be popular but I could not be able to digest it and left those path of the knowledge too. .
