I've told this to so many people I've met on the range, the single greatest money I've ever spent in Golf are my gapping sessions, with loft and lie adjustments, at TXG - nothing even comes close. All I see when I go to the range and sometimes help golfers are lie angles on their clubs that are almost never appropriate. When I show them my fitted lie-angles, and the flight it produces, and then hit their clubs, and they see the difference, they often can't believe it.
I love the DTC idea for clubs especially if you get your numbers from a fitting. I bought the Haywood “Signature” irons a few months ago, custom lie, custom shaft, etc, and they are AMAZING! Takomo was #2 on my list because they didn’t have as many shaft options. These TM P790-style clubs play well! Keep up the great work, guys! I love these reviews.
I wish I would have went with Haywoods. Ordered Takamo's August 25th and still haven't received them as of 10/17. Customer Service just says they cant give updates on the individual orders. Season is pretty much about over here in Michigan.
I like this idea. Not everone wants forged clubs. I mean, forged clubs are great but there are people out there who wouldn't want to sacrifice money over feel that much.. And when you go into mid - scratch handicappers' irons, there are almost no options when choosing irons that aren't forged. I believe these clubs are all cast hallow body irons, but I am happy to see the affordable price with the smaller head profile and high loft (you don't see many 32 degree 7 irons that are cast). Great job Takomo and thanks TXG for the in depth review!!
I would still love to see a DTC shootout - not necessarily to determine a winner, but to see how the irons compare, like the 101T vs the 902PD or OS, the 699 Pro, etc. Would love to just see the differences in peak height, spin, speed, all the variables!

Decided to go for the 101T. Can't wait for them to arrive
@@Iceluke99 Awesome. Would love to hear what you think of em!
Did they ever come out with that head to head video of the main dtc irons?
Mikey needs a new 4 iron it looks like!
hopefully you can get your hands on some of the new 301 release would love to see a review of that, might be my next set
Excellent video.
Did they ever do the DTC shootout video? I can't find it.
TXG should goes back to showing the in hand look of the iron instead of just showing the images on the takomo website. many of us just want to get a peak of what it look like in person
That was insightful
The problem I have with these Takomo clubs is, they don't offer any graphite shafts... KBS shafts are great shafts.. No doubt. But, they are heavier and stiffer than most others. If you're looking for a game improvement club, you're going to want lighter shafts.
We do provide graphite shafts. We offer Fujikura Atmos Red as an option, but you must customize your order because it is an upcharge shaft. Simply go to the iron set of your choice, click the 'add to cart' button, and then click the 'customize your order' button.
