This took me back to hunting with my dad and the labs we had. What a great day, Lucy is a champ! Two things, though... of all the birds she will retrieve, doves will be the hardest for her to bring to hand. This breeder and trainer of field trial labs explained that doves have really loose feathers that come out in the dog's mouth, and they don't like it. So they have a tendency to not carry them all the way in. We had told him our lab brought everything else to hand but not dove. He would get to a foot or so and drop the bird at our feet. The trainer said if our dog brought it that close to consider it a win. A lot of dogs hate the feel so much they won't pick them up at all. Lucy is doing very well. The second thing...she needs nose work. This is something to work on before hunting season starts. Get some good scent for the retrieving buck, saturate it. Play "hide and go seek" with Lucy. Let her smell it, get the scent in her nose, then go hide it...behind stuff, on a window sill, on a branch, etc. Don't let her see where you hide it. Then take her out and let her quarter for the scent. After she gets good at using her nose and consistently finding the buck, then reinforce giving her a line, direct her by whistle, etc. I would suggest using a different word to tell her that she needs to search. We used "dead bird". "Fetch" was used to release her to fetch the downed bird, "dead bird" for when she didn't mark the place it fell. Later in your training you can use live birds, pigeons, etc to refine her nose. But you have a potentially fine bird dog there, she just needs more work daily...more conditioning too. She ran out of steam way too soon.
Man, this is one of my favorite videos ever. I was smiling the whole time. Lucy was absolutely killing it! You could tell she was having a great time! Props to you guys getting so hyped for her too! Way to go, y'all!

Next time try making the sauce in a saucepan on the stove top. Hold off with the 1 T each of water & cornstarch (mixed together) until the sauce is simmering then whisk in the cornstarch mixture. It has to have heat the get the thickening going. Turn off heat when it's how you want it. Add a bit of water if its too thick. Great hunt gentlemen & Lucy!
I love the format the video was edited in. Its not a 10 minute chopped up classic hunting video. I felt like I was hanging out with you guys, keep up the great work. Keep the flair, zach, banjo trio forever.
Wow! Watching Lucy grow into her retriever self has been so rewarding. She is doing great! Most dogs HATE doves because the feathers are so loose. She is doing very well. Congrats on watching your hard work and dedication pay off.
Dude you are a untrained guy when it comes to training a dog and you have her out there enjoying life fetching birds like a champ don’t let anyone tell you she ain’t a bird dog cause she got her wings today man
Andrew, that jamming issue is an easy fix. Every 870 I’ve owned has had that same issue. Take a 12 gauge brush and wrap a piece of steel wood around it. Screw the brush in a piece of cleaning rod. Put the rod in a power drill and put a liberal amount of gun oil on the steel wool. Take the barrel off and run the brush in and out, with the drill running, in the beginning of your barrel where the shell opens up after being fired. There is a burr that comes from the factory and that steel wool will buff it out.
You know I think with Lucy, that “Find the Bird” searching game is a lot more fun to her. So maybe after you shoot two and she can’t see the other you can tell her to find the bird like you used to do with her all the time.
Way to go Lucy! She did amazing and looked like she was having a blast! I used to make kibobs all the time during the summer, the family loved them. Make sure to wash your veggies next time though. I'm glad you all had a good time a limited out!
Hey flair, I just wanted to let you know how much you have inspired me. I absolutely love fishing and I owe that all to u, ever since I have watched your videos I have become obsessed with fishing, hunting etc. you videos are so inspiring and every day I open my UA-cam up and see one of ur videos I watch it right away. When I grow up I want a property of my own and hope I can do the things that you do. Thank you flair for being so inspirational to me and I wish you the best and I can tell you will be an amazing dad.
Man, this is one of my favorite videos in the universe. I was smiling the whole time. Lucy was absolutely smashing it! You could tell she was having a lovely time! Props to you guys getting so hyped for her too! Way to go, y'all!
WOOOOHOOOOO DOVE SEASON STARTED FOR YA! I have been hunting dove like every week for the past month since in Idaho you can hunt the non-migratory Eurasian Collared dove year round. But pumped because now we're going for the mournings!
Hey flair! So unfortunately I tested positive for covid today, but this gives me a chance to re watch some of your old videos back when you started with just the chickens on the farm
Lucy killed it, Atta girl! Hey Flair save a couple sets of feathered wings and keep them in the freezer, take a set of dove wings and zip tie them onto Lucy's bumper, that way she can get used to the feeling of feathers in her mouth and she knows to bring the bumper all the way back to you.
If u want luci to bring it to you every time, u need to meet her on the Way in, so she’s getting used to it. Luci is doing great, and your training has payed off really great, keep it up!
Lucy is getting locked on! If you put the ingredients for the sauce in a sauce pan and heat it up a bit and gradually sift and stir in the corn starch. It makes it thick and oh so good.
I wish I could dove hunt. Some water headed senator in New York state decided to call them a songbirds. Thus banning the hunting of them. If it wasn't so beautiful where I live I would pack up and move so fast. Great video and those kabobs looked amazing
That first bird, I had a dove do exactly that on my hunt this weekend. I popped enough feathers off of him to make a throw pillow, he rolled on the ground about 2 yards and when I went to pick him up he got back up and flew off 😆
Flair keeps saying he’s not ah trainer & Lucys just smart. No buddy you work with her a lot. You’ve put time & effort into her. You’ve played ah big part in her “training” & she’s doing great. Especially for how hyper she always is.
That was awesome and hilarious what a great job Lucy did and what a hilarious hunting time and the cooking looks scrumptious especially when making cubobes amazing video as always 💓can't wait for the next one can't wait for more different hunting seasons
btw, love your content, i just started watching you yesterday and I absolutely love the vibe and friendliness of your channel. Keep up the great work 😄👍
For my dad and I personally we make dove tacos. We found they taste better when you season them like a red meat. We use taco seasoning and other simple seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc. We put all that into a pan with olive oil and green onions and it is very good.
Flair, if you want to make that sauce thick like bbq sauce, heat it up to a simmer in a medium saucepan In another bowl whisk together about 1 table spoon of cornstarch with 2 1/2 table spoons of water. Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the simmering sauce while whisking constantly. Raise heat a tad and keep whisking constantly for about 1-2 minutes. The sauce will thicken to bbq sauce texture. Add more cornstarch mixture if necessary but adding too much will make it more of a jelly texture
The maranade is ment to be kinda watery so it can soak in to the meat. if you left the meat in it for a hour or so it would really make a differenc and enhance the flavour but when my dad made maranade for jerky or steak etc he would leave it for up to a few days so it could really soak in
1.3k comments and not one person has mentioned how extremely awesome this 1hour video is!! 1 hour of His Royal Flairness.. jk I haven’t read all the comments (obviously) but Flair is definitely the MJ of UA-cam. His Flairness!
@Flair when you cut onions avoid cutting the stem and it won't bother your eyes. You can also put a spoon in your mouth. Both options work really well.

Hey man r u going to fight Brayden price kg just posted it??
I am in Dallas Texas can you fly here tomorrow or something

very cool comment!. . . much love and nostalgia vibes
peace, Eturn
I second this
Also most dogs like to swing around dead things.
you could also save feathers from birds, and store bumpers/balls in bags of feathers to condition her to the scent/feathers
This may be the most thoughtful and genuine comment I’ve ever seen on UA-cam
Lucy is definitely getting a lot better at retrieving birds than before
Really
@@braxtontrosclair6769 as banjo would say 😂😂
I can't wait to see what she will become by next season!
Fr fr
Glad she wasn’t chasing frogs everywhere 😂😂😂😂😂
Hell yeah hunting season is coming that means we’re about to get badass hunting/trapping videos. My favorite ones from flair
Man, this is one of my favorite videos ever. I was smiling the whole time.
Lucy was absolutely killing it! You could tell she was having a great time! Props to you guys getting so hyped for her too!
Way to go, y'all!
You need to heat the sauce to thicken it. You have to reduce it
Same
Lucy has a huge family, we’ve all watched her grow
Flair: Makes fun of Banjo for eating vegetables.
Also Flair: Grills kebobs on a panini press.
Hilarious
🤣
That what to much p***y does to a man 🤣
this isnt panini press, its just a grill

Watching Lucy do good makes me feel proud like it’s my own dog because we’ve watched her literally from puppy to now

Great hunt gentlemen & Lucy!
I was about to say the same thing.
Plus you dont brush the sauce on the raw meat and then use the same brush and sauce after its cooked!
Came here for this
Banjo, next time read the directions. you always cook corn starch
Cringe
I love the format the video was edited in. Its not a 10 minute chopped up classic hunting video. I felt like I was hanging out with you guys, keep up the great work. Keep the flair, zach, banjo trio forever.
We just gonna ignore flair nearly cutting himself multiple times 😂😂
Wow! Watching Lucy grow into her retriever self has been so rewarding. She is doing great! Most dogs HATE doves because the feathers are so loose. She is doing very well. Congrats on watching your hard work and dedication pay off.
I appreciate you guys cranking out this video so fast. Just wanted to let y’all know the fans appreciate the grind!
Zack a beast not editing out his misses and just facing it goood job zack
Zack's the man, myth, and the "girth"
I knew Zack was good when he was showing Flair the ropes on turkeys. Can't wait till next spring for more RC Decoy strutting.
Am I the only one that gets excited when Flair puts out a long video? Especially hunting videos.
Been watching your videos forever. This is now one of my all time favorite episodes. Awesome job with Lucy bro.
1hr video. It’s getting insane flair how long these videos are. Shoutout to whoever had to edit it.
Banjo when flair is showing off his bucket “you know they have a limit right” 😂
Dude you are a untrained guy when it comes to training a dog and you have her out there enjoying life fetching birds like a champ don’t let anyone tell you she ain’t a bird dog cause she got her wings today man
Banjo: "It's easier when they not moving" 😂😂😂😂
"Toss that zuch!"
Definitely one of the best videos in a while! Hunting Season is HERE!
Almost an hour later… such a great episode filled with new adventures. Even the girth and packed
That fact that banjo didn't know how to open those tomatoes correctly made my day lol. And flair....plz have Macy show you how to cut vegetables. 🤣🤣
I swear Flair is the best most consistent UA-camr
Ongggg

THIS IS WHAT I WITED FOR
Got a bad batch of Winchester shells one year, every other round jammed up in my 870.
Finally time for new flair hunting videos! Good luck next week for early waterfowl!
Yo flair, the catch clean cook whole thing at the end was fire! I honestly would watch videos of you guys making random stuff
Hey flair! So unfortunately I tested positive for covid today, but this gives me a chance to re watch some of your old videos back when you started with just the chickens on the farm
We both knocked a bag limit on the same day… damn near a year ago today. Best dove hunting run I’ve ever been on.
The day is just 200x better when Kendall Gray and Flair post in the same day 🎉🎉🎉🎉👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Very proud of Lucy a great step up from last year! Great video guys
Flare keep up the good work every time she brings your bird back give her a treat
“Honestly Zach’s not color wise but like girth 🤌🤌” FLAIR, 2021
Flair is so excited and in such a good mood love to see it!
I died laughing when Austin said “these mushrooms are from 1961”
LUCY is doing fantastic for her 2nd year. Shes only going to get better every year. Thats awesome.
“I’m glowing” 😂
I grew up dove hunting and I’ve loved it my whole life.
It’s the shells that have aluminum that makes the pump jam👌🏻
Yep my gun did that and it was a brand new gun it because for cheap shells
The fact that Flair smiles when Banjo gets his face ID 😂😂 I love these people they make me laugh SO much!!!❤️😂😂 these people are my type of people!!
Flair: Build a big daddy
Also Flair: Bango knows a lot about that
These videos get better and better 🔥
The friendship they have is one in a million
Flair: can I get a hoy ya
(Kills bird)
Flair moments later: gotta give them the old hoy ya
Banjos facial reactions every time he eats something he likes makes me laugh every time.
If u want luci to bring it to you every time, u need to meet her on the Way in, so she’s getting used to it.
Luci is doing great, and your training has payed off really great, keep it up!
Onions cutting tip for less tears when you chop it leave the root end cut the other end helps with the tears!!!!
Lucy is getting locked on! If you put the ingredients for the sauce in a sauce pan and heat it up a bit and gradually sift and stir in the corn starch. It makes it thick and oh so good.
Buy a jetski you'll love it!!!
It’s not the gun jamming really it’s probably those cheap shells expanding and sticking in the chamber. I’ve had it happen before
I wish I could dove hunt. Some water headed senator in New York state decided to call them a songbirds. Thus banning the hunting of them. If it wasn't so beautiful where I live I would pack up and move so fast. Great video and those kabobs looked amazing
WAY TO GO LUCY! Nice work on training Flair!

Gotta cook the cornstarch to activate it my guy. Like flour almost as far as thickening

I love dove hunting when it’s like that. Good video brother.
Flair I got one tip for you... the measuring cups you were using are for dry ingredients, you need a liquid measuring cup.
@Flair when you cut onions avoid cutting the stem and it won't bother your eyes. You can also put a spoon in your mouth. Both options work really well.
